This is a special little apartment for short term rental, in the medieval castle town of Sperlonga. The town is 110 km South of Rome and 100 from Pompeii. Sperlonga's old town is 1000 years old, perched on a rock on the MEditerranean sea. Form our place you can reach the sandy beach with 200 easy steps. If you prefer to take it easy a 10 minute free van ride can get you there. Our place is comfortable and private in summer, spring and fall. The overall area is perfect for two, with a loft above a common area. The windows on the west and north-east sides provide excellent cross-ventilation. Please note that there is no internet, but the house instructions include directions to nearby free wi-fi access.
During summer you can take a day-trip to any of the nearby Pontine Islands. Local boat trips to the Blue-grotto or other special swimming spots are easily available. In winter, the town is quiet and magical, suited for romantic retreats or a writer's journey. The local cuisine is famous for its mix of fish, vegetables and the world famous local Buffalo-milk mozzarella. The art history scene won't disappoint you, as Sperlonga is named after the "Spelunca" (Grotto) ordered by Roman Emperor Tiberius to grace his summer residence. The Sperlonga Museum displays statues of Ulysses made by Greek Sculptors of the period.

Our private summer house in Sperlonga, Italy is called affectionately. "Casetta", "The little house". This is for two reasons: a) it is a cozy 30 square meters in size and b) it was our family space, and we love it as is, with hand-paintings made by our kids and all.
The house is rented out for 2 people max. If you have a young child aged 8
or older, please don't allow use of the loft upstairs. We have no special insurance for accidents.
Please respect the neighbors downstairs, and have good manners in general. In the old town many folks are older and heavy music loudness after midnite is considered impolite.
Please: no smoking & no pets.
1 set of keys is made available.
