About this listing
Want to taste the flavour of Zagreb and catch the pure essence of its soul?
Nothing better then to start your exploration from this genuine architecture apartment, located in the most beautiful part of the town center...
Guest will have access to wireless internet, TV bathroom, kitchen and all other amenities in apartment.
Interaction with Guests
I'm usually trying not to be intrusive with my guests, but if the guests will have any questions or especial wishes during the stay I would be more then happy to accommodate them.
There are always touristic brochures in apartment, but as a native Zagreb resident I can give u some good tips where to eat or have good entertainment, no matter if you are interested in clubs, sports or culture.
I'm also providing transfer from the Zagreb airport, main bus and train stations to the apartment if time alowes me.
Once you accommodate in apartment your biggest problem will be where to go.
Because if u go in ANY direction in just few meters from the apartment u will find almost all the most important attractions Zagreb can offer.
That's why I would strongly suggest that you first visit Zagreb main market Dolac where you can buy a wide variety of fresh domestic food.
After that you can use brochures to make a plan of your tour on Ban Josip Jelacic Square; Zagreb Cathedral; Zrinjevac Park the "Upper Town", Kaptol, the Stone Doors, Ban's Palace, the Church of St. Mark or you can ask me to point out some good choices.
Apartment is located in strict city center so basically you will be able to go everywhere by foot.
But if u still want to go and visit some more farther parts of the city there is a central tram station 50 meters from the apartment, from which you can literally go to all parts of the city.
Other Things to Note
I have very flexible policy about check in and check out time: Regular check in is between 14:00 and 17:00 and regular check out is till 12:00 (noon).
In case you dont expect to come in this times I strongly recommend to contact me about your arriving times so I could make sure to provide you the keys of the apartment.
Since this apartment is in the building, to respect other people peace, do not make lot of a noise. Please take care of everything as if its yours. And try to leave the place as clean as possible. And just make yourself at home and enjoy your stay in Zagreb!
Traditional apartment as central as you can get, it's just a shame the place needs some love and a sprucing up. Holes in the bed sheets, lack of a kettle, cupboards falling apart bring it down.
The host Ozren seemed rushed off his feet, forgot the apartment key, asked us to buy the bathroom lightbulb as he was unavailable, and wasn't particularly apologetic considering the flying ant infestation in the bedroom wasn't actually dealt with as he originally thought. That made for a romantic experience.
We think this apartment easily has potential to be 4.5/5 if only more care and attention was given. Hate writing negative reviews but at some point we all need a wake up call. All the best.
First of all, it's important to note that Ozren was great and was attentive throughout our entire stay, from the moment he picked us up at the airport to his responsiveness every time we contacted him.
The apartment is in a PERFECT location if you're in Zagreb to have a good time. It's a flight of stairs away from the main entertainment street (Tkalciceva), where you'll find a seemingly endless strip of bars, cafés and restaurants. We went to Jelacic and Dolac and Mali Medo (5kn espresso from 10a-12h) every day because of how close they were. For short stays, you really can't find a better starting point.
It's also very bright, which my boyfriend liked, but I had trouble sleeping given the early sunrise, so if you're a light sleeper or depend on darkness, make sure you bring a mask or something to cover your eyes. That's aside from the church bells close by, but you'll have to deal with that anywhere if you stay in this area.
The bedroom is spacious and the bed was comfortable, which was nice given our long stay, and there was plenty of space for our clothes and luggage (which we put in the second bedroom).
The only downsides to our stay were 1) the wireless internet, which we were able to resolve by connecting directly to the router with ethernet cables, 2) the small shower and flimsy curtain, 3) the surprisingly uncomfortable couch (though the single chair next to the TV was fine) and, 4) on our second-to-last night, the ant problem we had in the bedroom, which led to an exterminator leaving our room uninhabitable for our last night in the apartment.
Most of these problems are not big issues for shorter stays, and the ants, while unfortunate, don't seem to be a recurring problem, as they only showed up once during our 1-month stay, so we'd still recommend this apartment for its location (crawling distance from everywhere you'll want to go) and Ozren's patience and hospitality.
Location is rather unbeatable. You literally step out of the apartment and into the city centre. Close to tourist info, main tram stops, the dolac market and lots of restaurants/bars. We stayed here for two nights (in between we went to Rovinj), and Ozren was really nice to pick us up on both occasions. The only negative would be that the apartment is older than it looks in the pictures, and the water in the shower takes a really long time to heat up.
Ozrens apartment was perfect for our short stay in Zagreb. It was very close to everything there was to see and do. We had a lovely time and would come back again. Ozren himself was very helpful and patient. We had such a lovely time at his charming apartment.
A lovely apartment in a great location. A lot of thought had gone in to the decor. And little tokens could be taken from the flat too. Very cute!
