This well-located and comfortable one-bedroom flat on the ground floor of a city house allows you to discover Ghent at ease, whether you come by train or car. The heart of the city is at walking distance while you sleep in a quiet street.
Within the city-centre of Ghent - 5 min walk from the main railway station Sint-Pieters, nearby musea (SMAK, STAM, De Bijloke) or a 15 min walk to the Graslei, Korenmarkt, you can rent a beautifully renovated ground-floor flat in a city-house.
The flat is easily accessible for everyone as it is on the ground floor. You will have your own private kitchen with laundry facilities, a comfortable bedroom with direct access to the garden and a spacious bathroom with a dressing, cloth-hangers, and all bathroom necessities - soap, shampoo, towels, hair-dryer etc.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, four electric cooking plates. In the bedroom there are books, maps of Ghent, Brussels and Bruges and you have access to lots of CDs.
Wifi is available.
Interaction with Guests
We will communicate your arrival time and key exchange in advance and you will be able to reach me during your stay. I am available for any information you need on Ghent, and other Belgian towns like Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Ostend or Ypres which are just a train-stop away from the flat.
The house is located in a dead-end street - so it is quiet and no traffic is passing through, especially in weekends and evenings. There is a square in front of the house with parking facilities.
There are bakeries, restaurants and shops in the vicinity. A nice restaurant with take-away facilities is just around the corner. And the heart of the city is a stroll away along the river.
If you want to go for sports (jogging, out or indoor swimming) and nature/relaxation, you can walk to the Blaarmeersen which has all major sports facilities.
The tram stop is at the corner.
Ghent is also easy to cycle. Several guests took their bikes to the flat which can be either stored outside in a biking rack or inside the flat in the corridor. This is easy as it is located on the ground floor.
Other Things to Note
The flat has an Apple Tv
This flat is non-smoking but you can smoke in the garden. No pets allowed in the flat.
Lovely and clean flat, I especially liked the large shower and comfy bed! Close to the train station and nice walk along the river into central Ghent.
Liesbeth is a great host. The cozy apartment was nice and clean. We loved the luxurious shower :) she was happy to give us some local tips about the neighbourhood and a festival. Liesbeth is very flexible, we could even check out at 18.00!
I can totally recommend the place!
The apartment is nice and clean, as depicted on the photos. The location near the station is ideal for a day trip to Bruges. Also, it's just a 15 minutes walk to city center, and not an unpleasant walk I might add, along the river. The check in and check out were super flexible. The house is a bit noisy, but apart from that, everything was great. We only spoke to Liesbeth during check in, but she seemed friendly and well organised. I would recommend staying here!
L'Appartement de Liesbeth est tres bien situé, à mi-chemin entre la gare et le centre ! Fonctionnel, propre et calme, c'est un parfait endroit pour séjourner.
Staying in Liesbeth's lovely apartment was a good experience to me. I needed some time to be by myself, to read books and to draw. I also liked the opportunity to go out to the little courtyard from my room.
And how easy it was to walk into old town or to have a walk nearby canals - Gent is wonderful and so is walking in Gent! I also walked from train station to her apartment and back.
Her Dad welcomed me, because she was abroad that day, but I got all the information I needed, also the info about closest supermarket. Yes, it is possible to cook for yourself in her apartment, I had my own kitchen on the same floor with my room.
The bed was also very comfy and I got a good sleep as well. The tapestry-carpet with elephants was my favorite interior element, I liked to watch it instead of TV (which is also possible though).
I recommend her apartment
and wish all the best!
Liesbeth's flat in Ghent is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very warm, comfortable, modern, easy to use, clean and neet, etc. Liesbeth is a very welcoming, friendly, easy to talk with.... She is a delightful host and has made her downstairs flat a very pleasant place to visit Ghent from, indeed.
The location was quiet, has safe parking, an easy few minute walk to town (which we did several times with no difficulties...) etc. We enjoyed the use of her kitchen as well. There are also WIFI, TV, and music available in the room.
The AirBnb descriptions, photographs, etc. are all accurate and up to date... We highly recommend her place, and would eagerly return... on our next visit.
(We did visit on a weekend during the winter, and local near by schools where closed... but I do not think there would have been any distractions had they been open.)
Thank you Liesbeth... it was our pleasure to meet you and to stay in your home....
A really nice flat as described.
The location is perfect, 15 mins on foot to train station, 25 mins on foot to the old city.
Liesbeth is very kind and helpful. She has useful information more than enough about Ghent.
Highly recommend to stay at her place and I will definitely stay again.
