About This Listing
This well-located and comfortable one-bedroom flat on the ground floor of a city house allows you to discover Ghent at ease, whether you come by train or car. The heart of the city is at walking distance while you sleep in a quiet street.
Within the city-centre of Ghent - 5 min walk from the main railway station Sint-Pieters, nearby musea (SMAK, STAM, De Bijloke) or a 15 min walk to the Graslei, Korenmarkt, you can rent a beautifully renovated ground-floor flat in a city-house.
The flat is easily accessible for everyone as it is on the ground floor. You will have your own private kitchen with laundry facilities, a comfortable bedroom with direct access to the garden and a spacious bathroom with a dressing, cloth-hangers, and all bathroom necessities - soap, shampoo, towels, hair-dryer etc.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, four electric cooking plates. In the bedroom there are books, maps of Ghent, Brussels and Bruges and you have access to lots of CDs.
Wifi is available.
Interaction with Guests
We will communicate your arrival time and key exchange in advance and you will be able to reach me during your stay. I am available for any information you need on Ghent, and other Belgian towns like Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Ostend or Ypres which are just a train-stop away from the flat.
The house is located in a dead-end street - so it is quiet and no traffic is passing through, especially in weekends and evenings. There is a square in front of the house with parking facilities.
There are bakeries, restaurants and shops in the vicinity. A nice restaurant with take-away facilities is just around the corner. And the heart of the city is a stroll away along the river.
If you want to go for sports (jogging, out or indoor swimming) and nature/relaxation, you can walk to the Blaarmeersen which has all major sports facilities.
The tram stop is at the corner.
Ghent is also easy to cycle. Several guests took their bikes to the flat which can be either stored outside in a biking rack or inside the flat in the corridor. This is easy as it is located on the ground floor.
Other Things to Note
The flat has an Apple Tv
This flat is non-smoking but you can smoke in the garden. No pets allowed in the flat.
I can only confirm once more that Liesbeth is a very friendly and attentive host. Just two brief remarks on two previous reviews:
- parking is possible on the street in front of the house, and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of spaces. A full-day pay&display ticket will cost you €3.50. You can pay by card, but only for one day in advance.
- the school and college next to the flat were busy during my stay, but you don't notice it other than seeing people entering the buildings. No noise whatsoever.
What's more, Gent is a very pretty city, well worth a visit.
Liesbeth was a wonderful host. She was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. She assisted us with directions for shopping, dining, and visiting the historic old town. She even clued us in on a foodie festival taking place the next day.
The place was as pictured, modern and well appointed with everything we needed including a wonderful shower and handy washer and dryer. It was within walking distance to old town and public transit.
I cannot imagine staying at a better place when visiting Ghent.
Liesbeth was a very kind and helpful host, she offered us very flexible check-in check-out times. Also she gave us some maps and guides about Ghent and Brugges. The house was clean and had enough equipment, we found everything we needed. Also the garden is pretty. Place is about 10 minutes walk to the train station and 20 minutes walk to the centrum of Ghent. So it was a nice place for us and I suggest this place to everyone!
Lovely and clean flat, I especially liked the large shower and comfy bed! Close to the train station and nice walk along the river into central Ghent.
Liesbeth is a great host. The cozy apartment was nice and clean. We loved the luxurious shower :) she was happy to give us some local tips about the neighbourhood and a festival. Liesbeth is very flexible, we could even check out at 18.00!
I can totally recommend the place!
The apartment is nice and clean, as depicted on the photos. The location near the station is ideal for a day trip to Bruges. Also, it's just a 15 minutes walk to city center, and not an unpleasant walk I might add, along the river. The check in and check out were super flexible. The house is a bit noisy, but apart from that, everything was great. We only spoke to Liesbeth during check in, but she seemed friendly and well organised. I would recommend staying here!
