Portland is unique in that much of the real Portlandia culture is on the east side of the river and this is where we are located.
We live in a close-in urban, neighborhood in NE Portland, just a short walk to Alberta Street and the many cafes, great food, boutiques and happenings here. There are almost a dozen yoga studies near by to choose from.
We are blocks from a half dozen Portland hand-crafted brew pubs and surrounded by many baristas. Every restaurant in our neighborhood has gluten-free and vegan options.

Great cozy find in the Alberta Arts District. Kaya and Wayne were very welcoming and the room/bed were clean and comfortable. Loved their sweet dog as well!
Kaya and Wayne were awesome! They provided lots of insight to the area and gave us tons of recommendations. We ended up changing all of our plans and we do not regret it one bit. The room was clean and cozy, very easy to get in and out and they were very accommodating with all of our things when we wanted to go on an adventure the day we were checking out.
We had a great time staying with Kaya and Wayne. They were very generous with their time and knowledge (of which they have a ton), and we our time in Portland was better because we stayed at their place. It's a great neighborhood, comfortable home, and we loved Poppet!
Kaya and Wayne were so kind to us. The room was cute and air conditioning was most welcome. The tiny dog Is precious and so much fun for us. We enjoyed how friendly Kaya and Wayne were such nice hosts.
Kaya and Wayne are very welcoming and enjoy sharing their home. They have a lovely home with very good energy. We also fell in love with little Poppet (their dog)! We had to spend a lot of time in their home for medical reasons and they made us feel very comfortable. They are also busy people so we didn't feel like we were in each other's way. We miss you Kaya and Wayne! We will stay with you if in Portland again.
The neighborhood is lovely we well. Woodlawn coffee shop has delicious coffee and pastries. P&Q is also a yummy brunch spot. The houses in this neighborhood have such lovely gardens that walking around is a joy.
I have a lovely stay with Wayne and Kaya. My room was tidy and cozy and the shared bath was impeccably clean. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the hosts were interesting to chat with. House is located very close to a major bus line that runs into Lloyd center that made getting around Portland easy. If you like easy foot access to cafes and boutiques, this is a perfect place to stay.
Kaya and Wayne were great hosts. They gave us some wonderful ideas for places to see and eat.
