  • This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. Quiet and easy walk to la Ramblas . Host very responsive and left a 5 litre bottled water for us. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

  • Perfect stay for 2 persons as a base to visit the downtown. Very well located not too far from the Rambla, it is an ideal situation for those who like to discover cities on foot.

The apartment is very well kept, there was pretty much all the appliances you would need. There was even fresh water prepared for us, nice little attention.

Note that there is no elevator and the apartment is on the 4th floor. Also, the street can be quite animated at night. It didn't bother us to sleep at all, but if you have a light sleep it might very well do.

    Great place, great value!

  • This was our second time AirBnB and we were delighted by our experience at Jose's apartment. His place was very cosy, comfortable, clean and decorated with taste, we immediately felt at home and settled in very easily. The surface was ideal for 3 people, we never felt that we were lacking some living space. The apartment is calm but still at a small walking distance of supermarkets, shops and restaurants of all sorts and easily connected to the center town thanks to the nearby subway station. It is also very well equipped, especially in the bathroom and in the kitchen. José himself was a very welcoming guest, enabling us to check-in and check-out at a very late time, communicating on every point we could ask for and he gladly shared numerous restaurants and bars addresses with us. Next time we come to this city (which is mandatory because due to a lack of time we were unfortunately unable to test all the good stuff available here ;)) , we will definitely try to go to José's place.

  • The apartment is very spacious for 3 of us. It is located very close to the Las Ramblas, so it is very convenient to find mini market or a place to hangout. Jose is a great host, he always checkin on us if we need some help. Recommended for small group or couple that looking for a place near the night life of Barcelona. Take note for those who bring big luggage, the apartment is located at 3-storey with no elevator, but it still manageable.

  • Does what it says on the tin - A nice apartment for a single/couple in a great location. The Raval was a great choice, and left everything within walking distance. The neighborhood itself is very nice, colorful and vibrant.

The apartment is nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed.

We did encounter a problem with the water heater on our first night there. However, problems will always occur, and I believe the way they are dealt with is much more important then anally trying to avoid them. Jose performed admirably - A quick fix while we were out, in time for our evening shower :-)

All in all, a great stay. Will definitely recommend.

  • The stay was great, Jose and Sindre were really great hosts and were really helpful in recommending us where to eat and go. The appartment and the location is superb, there is a great family run Spanish restaurant about 10metres away where the food is amazing and really cheap! Also, you're a few mins walk away from some cool bars and las ramblas. Would definitely recommended and shall be back soon!

  • We loved staying in a legitimate neighborhood in Barcelona! Sindre met us with the keys and even brought us water and some fruit for our stay and a few restaurant recommendations, which was so hospitable. It was an easy walk to almost everything we wanted to do while we were there, and if not we could get to the metro in about 8 min, which is easy to navigate for a tourist. There were a couple of fun bars and restaurants just a couple streets over too.
The apartment was a good size for two people, with a comfortable couch and a nice dining table (although we only ate out while we were there). The bedroom is a good size and has a lovely armoire to put your belongings in. I will say that the bed was not the most comfortable to us. It was plenty big, but could use a mattress topper and maybe a softer blanket. The bathroom has been remodeled nicely and is very spacious for a European apartment. Sometimes when we returned from our day of sightseeing there was a sewage smell, but as long as we kept the bathroom door closed, it was not bothersome. Our one other complaint was that the apartment felt pretty dark at night. Even with the many lamps that are in the apartment it still seemed like not enough light.
Overall we had a good experience, and very much enjoyed our stay!

    Response from Jose Manuel:

    Hi Dereck,
thanks for taking your time for writing the review that as a whole is positive but we were a bit shock for your negative points that I would like to comment:

    - the bed: I normally live there with my partner and we are both big guys 193 cms/90 kgs and we have chosen a good bed for ourselves and we found it quite comfortable;Regarding the mattress topper I can tell you that in my long travelling experience , staying in the best hotels such as the American chains( Hilton, Carlton, Intercon, Marryot) I just had the topper twice in my live , one in Madrid Ritz, consider the best hotel of Spain , single room 450€, and the Cairo Fairmont ( a six stars hotel in fact) were we paid 500$ per night, obviously charging for a whole apartment a 10% of these prices is difficult to offer that luxurious finishing for the bed otherwise we couldn't be so competitive due to the cost of laundry and all the rest of expenses, I really believe that when we do a review it has to be balance with the price we are paying and have some logic approach.
    - regarding the sewage smell from the bathroom , we live in the apartment and we never had that feeling and technically it is impossible as we have done the toilet from the scratch just 6 months ago changing all the elements and pipes, etc.
    - about the lighting in the apartment I just have to ask you to look at the pictures that where done with the apartment lights on and no flash was required.
We really believe in our product that probably is the best value in town,
    kindest regards
    Sindre and JM-
