About This Listing
This recently renovated bungalow is conveniently located to all uptown Charlotte attractions. Stadiums, great restaurants and museums, parks and the greenway are all within a short walk away. The Scott House is convenient to the trolley and busline.
Charlotte is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center.
Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and its resident county are named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was "a hornet's nest of rebellion," leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest.
The house is a great location, close to town, had parking and a great porch. My boyfriend and I recently stayed while visiting Charlotte for a wedding. The house has 2br and 2ba which is a great feature. The kitchen is lacking if you plan on doing much cooking (very little counter space, not many pots /pans). We had some issues with the cable TV having a parental code on every channel so we couldn't watch anything at first. After texting the owner a few times I was able to figure out the code. The master bed is very comfortable, has high ceilings and the AC worked great. Would stay here again.
My friends and I had a wonderful stay in Charlotte this time around. Melanie was so accommodating and responsive. Her house was in the perfect location, and absolutely charming. We definitely hope to rent this property again in the future and would recommend it to any friends planning to travel to Charlotte.
A welcoming space and a comfortable place! We always enjoy a stay at the Uptown Bungalow, and this trip was no exception. The neighborhood is quiet, yet convenient. The cottage is well stocked and appointed. The linens and beds are comfortable. Melanie is a resposive and gracious hostess. What morte can you require?
Had another great visit at Melanie's house. It is always so cozy & clean. Thanks again Melanie!
Melanie's home is lovely and we had a wonderful stay. Due to our traveling schedule it was a brief visit but we would both stay again and will on other trips. Her house is beautifully appointed and the extra care and personal touches and antiques add to the overall charm. Also - the off street parking is definitely a plus. It is near downtown Charlotte and the museums - a plus for us. I travel to Charlotte often and this will be my new "home". Thank you for sharing your house.
The Uptown Bungalow was great and just as nice as described. Lovely home with nice furnishings and very comfortable beds. There were fresh towels and local soap, shampoo, and lotion to use. Melanie left coffee supplies in the kitchen and we used the full-size refrigerator to store some goodies of our own. Absolutely wonderful neighborhood! We had no idea those great houses were so close to downtown. My husband and I came with another couple to go to a concert at the Fillmore, and we actually walked about 1.5 miles there and had a nice on-foot tour of the area. Afterwards we all hung out in the kitchen/living area and it was a great space. We did not use the front dining room, but there is a lot of space in the home for whatever you may want to do. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely go back there again. Great choice for two couples! This was our first stay through airbnb and it will be hard to top. Melanie was very responsive via email, phone, and text when I had questions. We highly recommend staying at the Uptown Bungalow!
