This recently renovated bungalow is conveniently located to all uptown Charlotte attractions. Stadiums, great restaurants and museums, parks and the greenway are all within a short walk away. The Scott House is convenient to the trolley and busline.
Charlotte is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center.
Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and its resident county are named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was "a hornet's nest of rebellion," leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest.
Great place to stay for the DNC coming up! This convention is going to be the most open and accessible in history. It isn’t about political ritual or simply renominating the president, it’s about Americans coming together. Success depends on involvement at the grassroots, engaging the American spirit and enlisting people who want to put their shoulder to the wheel and change the country for the better.
We had a lovely first visit to Charlotte. Staying at Melanie's bungelow made moving about the city easy.We could even walk into the center of the city easily. Melanie stayed in touch with us to be sure our visit was going well. The bungalow had everything we needed in order to be comfortable. I hope to stay there again.
We had a lovely stay. The home is in a nice location and we loved the front porch.
The Bungalow was very convenient and close to major areas in the city(NoDa, Downtown, Uptown). There are 2 busses that run frequently down 4th st, which is directly outside the door (8 & 34) there is also a free Gold rush bus that's only a few blocks away that would take you into the city. The buses are only 2.00 and you get a transfer with that (can't use to get on the same bus going back) there aren't any grocery stores near besides trader joes which is on the other side of Downtown about 3.5 4 miles away. I highly suggest renting the bikes at Charlotte B cycle. $8 per person for 24hrs. You just have to dock them every 30 mins (at any station around the city) makes everything a lot easier. The home was stocked with the essentials. Can't go wrong with this place. Melanie was very sweet and responded back to questions very quickly!
A beautiful home well furnished and a great location within easy reach of uptown.
Would have liked to stay longer !
Had a great time, if you are looking a sweet little home centrally located this place is perfect!
The Uptown Bungalow was perfect for us! There was plenty of space for the 5 of us and the house was very clean when we arrived. The neighborhood was very charming and felt very safe. Very close to uptown and if the weather had been nice, we probably could have walked to the areas we were going.
The stay at the uptown bungalow was my first AirBnB experience and it couldn't have been better. Melanie was an amazing host with quick and clear communication. The space was larger than expected and impeccably decorated. There were many extra conveniences as well like coffee, local papers and bus schedules. We had a lovely stay and felt right at home in the uptown bungalow!
A beautiful house and a great value. Very close to downtown. HIghly recommend.
My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Melanie's adorable bungalow. The style is old-world, and cozy, yet it offered up-to-date amenities and comfort. The Wi-fi worked beautifully, there were plenty of high-quality towels and toiletries available, and the location was just minutes from uptown Charlotte.
I would definitely repeat on my next trip to the Queen City!
Melanie and her husband are great hosts and prepared their bungalow wonderfully. The bungalow is very charming - one feels at home at once. Also the location is fantastic as you can either walk uptown through parks or use the bus lines 8 and 34 which stop very close to the bungalow. If you like running there is a lot of parks around to run without being bothered by cars.
Absolutely kindly, at the end of our stay they offered us a lift to the airport which was very convent. Thanks again for this wonderful stay! IF we ever come back to Charlotte we will definitely try to stay in this bungalow again.
