This recently renovated bungalow is conveniently located to all uptown Charlotte attractions. Stadiums, great restaurants and museums, parks and the greenway are all within a short walk away. The Scott House is convenient to the trolley and busline.
Charlotte is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center.
Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and its resident county are named in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was "a hornet's nest of rebellion," leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest.
Great place to stay for the DNC coming up! This convention is going to be the most open and accessible in history. It isn’t about political ritual or simply renominating the president, it’s about Americans coming together. Success depends on involvement at the grassroots, engaging the American spirit and enlisting people who want to put their shoulder to the wheel and change the country for the better.
Melanie's bungalow was a great stay. It is stocked with coffee and plenty of towels and is very close to the heart of Charlotte. The location makes it easy to get around Charlotte and the amenities were exactly as they appeared in pictures. Also features a nice patio that we did not use but would have if we had more time. I would recommend Melanie's bungalow to anyone that needs a reasonably priced place for 2-3 people very close to uptown.
My colleagues and I had a great stay at the Uptown Bungalow. Cute house with character and charm in a nice neighborhood. Melanie was incredibly responsive and available to us - checking on us regularly through our stay. We will definitely stay here again.
My mother and I stayed at Melanie 's and felt right at home! It's everything she describes and more. 100% recommend
Melanie's bungalow was a great value for the money. In a cute neighborhood just west of downtown Charlotte, it was convenient to bopping around the city, although we did drive in for dinner since we weren't sure how safe it was to walk on the busy road that goes along one side of the house. The two bedroom/two bathroom place was warm and welcoming when we arrived and Melanie was easy to communicate with throughout.
This rental is a great value with plenty of space! Two bedrooms and a second sitting room with a pull-out couch. Amenities that we particularly enjoyed were the porch with the rocking chairs; the large driveway which can probably accommodate up to three cars; the two bathrooms, both with tubs; and the formal dining room.
Melanie and Derrick were great with information, follow up, and hospitality! There was an issue with the front door not being very secure and they sent out a repairman quickly and Derreck came out as well. The bus line is right across the street, which is probably convenient if you are without a car. Close to downtown and not far from anything else. Definitely recommend!
I landed in Charlotte on a layover and decided to stay. Melanie had the house ready in two hours and was so sweet to send me information about the city as well. The house is absolutely adorable, quaint and warm. There is a kitchen, two bedrooms and a lovely living room. I walked to the city center both days I was there, it's about a mile each way but an enjoyable way to see the city. Theres a park around the corner if youre feeling up for a little jog etc. Thanks for everything Melanie!
Easy instructions for entering and leaving the house and the pictures matched perfectly. Very happy with our stay in Charlotte and if we came back would stay here again! Thanks for a great weekend!
Spacious and charming house very close to downtown. Melanie made our stay very comfortable and added nice touches including robes and plenty of towels for showers. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was very cute.
Loved our stay and will return again!
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath bungalow was so charming, spacious, private, and clean! I was traveling with my husband and mother in law and out three night stay in Charlotte was so comfortable staying at Melanie's uptown bungalow. We had the room to spread out, the amenities of a full kitchen, off street free parking, and the privacy of a whole house!
Again, the house was so charming and cozy, and very, very clean that when we return to Charlotte, we'll be sure to stay there again!
Due to a 5 hour delay on our Amtrak train from NYC, we only spent a brief night in the apartment, arriving after dark. However, we were there long enough to appreciate it's cleanliness, decor and location, and Melanie was easily contactable and very pleasant to talk to via telephone.
