This is a room with shared living room and shared bathroom in a 400ft flat. I live in the flat and enjoy meeting global travelers like you. You have a TV and DVD player in your own room with full access to living room and kitchen. Basic amenities, such as towels and toiletries, will be provided. If you are up for an unique opportunity to experience the local culture while being just a subway ride from the hustle and bustle, you will enjoy my flat.
The flat is 5 minutes walk to the Yuen Long MTR (subway) station and a major bus hub. Once you get to MTR station / bus hub, here is what you can expect:
- 30 minutes MTR ride to Central
- 25 minutes MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui (TST)
- 40 minutes bus ride to Airport (one bus and only 15HKD!!)
- 15 minutes bus ride to boarder crossing to Shenzen, China
Nice place, quite,comfortable,Joe is easygoing~作为房价如此之高的香港，这是个不错的选择~
Joe was a fantastic host. When something didn't meet his expectations, he ensured I was looked after as best as possible. Very close to public transport. A pleasure to have stayed with. The knowledge he's gained through numerous cultures walking through his places is always great for a chat.
Would highly recommend Joe to anyone travelling there.
The apartment/room is acceptable given Hong Kong's scarce real estate. The surroundings is great with easy access to transportation and food. A short 5 mins walk will bring you to Yuen Long town center where you can find local shopping. Going to Shenzhen from here is also very easy - you can take either the public bus or the mini-bus and it takes around 25 mins.
Joe's a great host - he is very friendly and responsive to your requests. I won't hesitate to stay at his apartment next time around.
Joe's place is great! The room was clean and big (big means---for the price in crowded HK, and I was the only one there for 2 nights for a shared apt). The wi-fi connection was really fast and stable (that's what I needed it). The bed is comfortable, except there was construction noise from outside in the early morning (before 7AM). But, for those budget travelers, Joe's place probably is your ideal place in HK.
The accommodation was acceptable and the host was very accommodating. 没啥报怨。挺好的!
Had a great stay at Joe's place in Hong Kong. The apartment was clean, the room was comfy with solid air con and a large bed. The bathroom was shared, but clean, and the testimonials of past guests on the walls of the living room were fun to read. The place is very close to the subway station and while it does take about half an hour to get to central, it was easy to navigate to the rest of Hong Kong and Lantau island via subway. Also really easy to get to the airport shuttle from the apartment, a big plus.
There's also a really good sushi restaurant not far from the apartment, a local took me there so I don't remember the name (it was in Chinese anyway) but it was one of the best I've had. Ask Joe, he has great food recommendations for the area around the apartment.
Joe was kind enough to meet us at the MTR on arrival, however we didn't see much of him the rest of the stay as the other room was rented out long-term to another couple.
The flat has little in the way of a communal relaxing place, the 'lounge' has a chair and desk, no TV, but wifi was pretty good.
The room is now in need of a redecoration, and generally the whole flat requires a clean (to put it politely). We were reluctant to use the kitchen facilities, due to it's unhygienic condition. We believe the photographs do not represent the accommodation in its current state.
Not for us, but obviously many others have had a good experience.
I had a lovely time at Joe's place. He was friendly and very accommodating and introduced me to wonderful people. The neighborhood of Yuen Long is really charming, and while many people might rather stay more centrally, I really enjoyed staying in an area that I would not have seen otherwise. Thanks Joe!
This was the first time I used Airbnb and I wasn't sure what to expect. My stay at Joe's place was a very pleasant experience and I am now more inclined to try Airbnb in the future. Since one is living in another person's home I was sensitive about imposing too much on the host. However, Joe makes it his job to help his guests feel welcome. This included meeting me at the bus stop upon arrival, inviting me to dinner at a local Cantonese eatery, and leading me to a local 80 year old cobbler to repair my broken sandal. The living space is small and the bathroom is shared ... but all is clean. Yuen Long is not in the heart of HK, but Joe's place is two blocks from the MTR and one can be at HK station in 30-40 mins, ... or at the Shenzhen border in 30 mins by bus. I would recommend Joe's for anyone willing to sacrifice amenities like a private bathroom, for unique and unusual personal service that will likely leave you feeling, as I did ... like you have a new friend in HK. .
Joe is a free spirit Who lives a simple life. He relates well to all age groups. We enjoyed his company and shared his philosophy of life.
