Interaction with Guests
The interaction with guests is up to you. We provide complete privacy, but we are open to your questions and requests. We can even join in the festivities, if invited, to share local history and travel experiences.
Serenity, amazing views, fresh air, large executive homes, dozens of trails, feeling of being far away ... Yet, just down the hill, is downtown and business district.
If you wish to avoid downtown parking rates, Park & Ride lots are available, either at the ZOO or at the SUNSET TRANSIT CENTER. Portland Metro trains (a/k/a "MAX") have a nominal charge (Adults $2.50); daily passes (Adults $5, Seniors $2), are available for purchase at the stations. Our train networks are extensive, with more lines added as we speak. The Red Line will even take you, safely and quickly, to PDX International Airport terminals!

Treat the premises as your home, with frugality, tidy and clean.

No parties, unless cleared with owner.
No accumulated garbage or recyclables (we'll pick it up, just email).
Remove shoes, to minimize carpet staining and germ distribution.
Turn on exhaust fan during/after cooking, bathing, laundry.
Do not use oven "clean mode".
Place dirty wet towels in laundry sink, before departure.

Enjoy Portland, have a MARVELOUS HOLIDAY!!
The reservation process was easy. The hosts were nice. The house was very clean. Parking was a challenge as the hosts and other tenants also use the house. This is not a full house/property rental as the house is divided into sections. The gardens are beautiful but no bedrooms had access to them. In fact only the master bedroom had any windows with a view; and that is to the front of the house street . Four rooms rented, one had high level windows that didn't open and two had none at all. The gym is no longer a gym but a room with a trundle bed and one tredmill. We were looking forward to working out in the gym posted on the pictures, but that was not the case.
Another truly frustrating part of the whole transaction period was that house painters were on the property for two days, and at one point, we did not have regular entry way access to our section. In fact our door was taped shut and we were asked not to use it. Also, we couldn't enjoy the gardens and bbq area on those days because not only was the furniture put away but also there were ladders laying around and painters walking the premises. There was no privacy.
Note to future renters, when you purchase groceries, add kitchen trash bags to the list. When we filled the one bag set up and asked the host where to locate more, he questioned what we were doing to generate the need for more trash bags. His response was that the existing bag should have been sufficient for our one week stay. In our opininion, this was not the hosts call to make. A little frustrating but the place was beautiful and the theater was cool to use.
The home had a beautiful patio in back where we hosted my daughter's engagement and graduation party. Alfred took the time on the morning of the party to put out extra chairs, an extra table, and turning on the waterfall for our enjoyment.
We had a fantastic time at Alfred's villa. The accommodations are spacious and relaxing, with a great view from the patio. The theatre is a lot of fun as well, with a huge variety of movies to choose from. Alfred had great suggestions for local sightseeing and culture, and pointed us to the best pizza in town. Our stay was perfect. I would certainly recommend staying here, and will likely try to stay at Alfred's place again in the future.
I was fortunate to find this beautiful home so close to my house in order to host out of twin family members for the post Xmas New Years break to celebrate my 50th birthday. They all had a wonderful stay. We rented the apartment and the posh suite and then 2 additional suites to accommodate 14 family members. They loved their stay. Alfred was very responsive up their needs including getting an extra heater in the posh suite as it turned unusually cold during that time frame. Thanks Alfred. I would highly recommend this place. My family felt very welcome
My husband and I along with our four- year old son stayed for nine nights during our recent trip to portland. The Hosts were very accommodating and accepted our last minute request of reservation ( one day earlier) even though they were out of town. They also had a welcome binder which provided details about the home and the area
The space was much more than what we needed, but our son loved it. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi, three rooms with TV, and the nice backyard garden
I'd definitely recommend it for a large family or friends group.
