The Space

SANTA FE IS THE 3RD LARGEST ART MARKET IN THE U.S. WITH MANY MUSEUMS, INCLUDING THE GEORGIA O'KEEFE, AND ITS A PRIME SKI DESTINATION AS WELL. LOTS OF THINGS TO DO IN TOWN AND DESTINATIONS FOR SHORT TRIPS, LIKE INDIAN PUEBLOS, CASINOS, ANASAZI RUINS, NATIONAL PARKS, HIKING DESTINATIONS.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THERE ARE MUSICAL SERIES AND FESTIVALS, INCLUDING JAZZ, BLUES, CHORAL, CHAMBER MUSIC, SYMPHONY, AND, OF COURSE, THE FAMOUS SANTA FE OPERA.
THERE ARE ALSO MANY CULTURAL FESTIVALS: THE INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART, THE SPANISH MARKET AND THE WORLD FAMOUS INDIAN MARKET.

WE ARE SITUATED ABOUT 2 MILES, OR 7 MINUTES FROM THE PLAZA BY CAR, IN A VERY TYPICAL SANTA FE NEIGHBORHOOD, 1/2 BLOCK FROM A FASCINATING RIVER WALK, WHICH TAKES YOU TO THE PLAZA.
THERE IS A SIDE ENTRANCE NEAR YOUR ROOM, AND A COMFORTABLE QUEEN SIZED BED. YOUR BATH IS NEXT DOOR TO YOUR ROOM, SO THERE ARE ROBES FOR YOUR USE. NO CLEANING PRODUCTS WITH HARMFUL CHEMICALS ARE USED IN MY HOUSE.
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WITH LOCAL COFFEE OR TEA AND ORGANIC PASTRIES. I CAN, BY REQUEST, PROVIDE A VEGAN OR ALLERGY FREE BREAKFAST.
USE OF REFRIGERATOR, BUT NO COOKING, UNLESS BY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT. PLENTY OF PARKING.
THE BEST LOCAL, ORGANIC GROCERY ON THE PLANET IS NEARBY.

I HAVE GUIDEBOOKS FOR YOU TO SEE, OR I CAN SUGGEST PLACES, RESTAURANTS, MUSEUMS, HIKES, ETC. EVERYTHING IS NEAR BY.
IF THERE'S ANY WAY IN WHICH I CAN HELP YOU WHILE YOU STAY, I WILL BE VERY GLAD TO DO SO.

NOTE; THE PHOTOS IN MY LISTING ARE OF MY WHOLE HOUSE BECAUSE AT TIMES I RENT MY WHOLE HOUSE. THE GARDEN IS AVAILABLE TO GUESTS SEASONALLY.

MUY BIENVENIDOS A LOS QUE HABLA ESPANOL TAMBIEN!

Guest Access

YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE SUN ROOM IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF YOUR ROOM. THERE IS A TV THERE FOR YOUR USE ALSO. SEASONALLY, YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE GARDEN PATIO, WITH A SWING AND SOFA FOR YOUR RELAXATION, AND WHERE YOU CAN ALSO BREAKFAST.

Interaction with Guests

BESIDES GREETING YOU AND SEEING THAT YOU HAVE WHATEVER YOU NEED, I LIKE TO VISIT WITH MY GUESTS IN THE MORNING AT BREAKFAST IF THERE IS TIME. SINCE IT'S JUST ME IN THE HOUSE WITH YOU USUALLY, YOU WILL HAVE AS MUCH PRIVACY AS YOU WANT.

The Neighborhood

MY STREET IS IN A TYPICAL FUNKY DIVERSE SANTA FE NEIGHBORHOOD. A PLUS IS ITS ACCESS TO THE RIVER WALK WHERE YOU CAN WALK OR BIKE INTO TOWN, OR JUST TAKE A WALK FOR EXERCISE.

Getting around

UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO BUS THAT COMES TO MY STREET. YOU WILL NEED A CAR OR BIKE, BUT A LOT OF GUESTS DO WALK TO TOWN. (ABOUT 40 MINUTES) OR BIKE ( 15 MINUTES.)
THERE IS PARKING IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE IN MY DRIVEWAY.
IF COMING BY AIR TO ALBUQUERQUE, THERE IS A SHUTTLE INTO SANTA FE. IF COMING TO THE SANTA FE AIRPORT, THERE IS ALSO A SHUTTLE THAT WILL TAKE YOU TO MY HOUSE.

Other Things to Note

I would appreciate your letting me know ahead of time what you would like to drink for breakfast, and how you like it - with milk, etc. Also, if possible, what time you wish it served.
Your bathroom will be private except in rare cases when I have a personal guest. Then, unless you request a private bath ahead of time, my guest will also use it.

  • I cancelled this reservation back on April but Airbnb never deleted it. Please check your records. I don't want Joyce to look bad because of an error that was made. Thank you.

  • Staying with Joyce was great! She was gracious and thoughtful, and the space was easy to be in. The house was a bit farther from downtown than I expected (I'm used to walking or using public transportation to get everywhere), but I think that was my own error having never been to Santa Fe. Overall the experience was wonderful!

  • We had a lovely stay at Joyce's home. Joyce was easy to communicate with, and when our flights were delayed, she was very understanding. Joyce provided us with good information on the neighborhood, local restaurants and great driving directions. Be sure to spend some time in the garden at the back of the house, it is so relaxing and pretty! We were very comfortable here.

  • Our stay with Joyce was outstanding! She is a gracious host and her lovely home is comfortable, warm and inviting, especially her backyard oasis, which is a beautiful space for relaxing. It's only a few minutes' drive from the plaza and very conveniently located. I would highly recommend a stay with Joyce in her wonderful adobe home!

  • Staying at Joyce's home over the 3 days we were in Santa Fe was comfortable, calm and convenient. We were lucky enough to meet Joyce's daughter and friend on our first night who gave us some great tips on the best things to do whilst in the area! Joyce being a traveler herself was more than happy to chat with us about our 3 month trip across the US :) We couldn't use Joyce's kitchen to make our own food, but thanks for the lovely fresh breakfast every morning Joyce - it was lovely :)

Santa Fe central plaza was a 30-40 minute walk away from Joyce's - a pleasant walk along the Santa Fe river. So do-able and much easier than taking a car!

We would definitely recommend staying at Joyce's if you are in the area and need a cosy and clean place to stay. Thanks again Joyce!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Santa Fe! Joyce's home is centrally located, very comfortable, and full of charm. We both appreciated Joyce's hospitality and enjoyed our conversations over breakfast. Joyce also gave us some good suggestions of what to see in the area, including tourist attractions and hikes.

  • Our stay at Joyce's beautiful house was a very pleasant experience for my girlfriend and I. Joyce is a great host and a very interesting person to talk to. We had a nice time having breakfast in her gorgeous garden while chatting with her.

On the other hand, she was respectful to leave enough privacy for us at any time. The house is big and has a very practical layout. However keep in mind you are sharing the house with her, so certain rules apply.

Regarding the neighbourhood, it is very close to the centre of the city as long as you don't mind to drive. It's just a 7 min ride. However I wouldn't recommend to stay here if you are planning to walk.

We had a great time in Santa Fe and Joyce's house was just right for us.

About
I LEFT THE U.S. WHEN I WAS 21 AND I HAVE BEEN LIVING AND TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE U.S. EVER SINCE. NOW I AM SETTLED IN SANTA FE, THE ONLY PLACE IN THE U.S. I BELIEVE I COULD LIVE, AND I WANT TO SHARE MY SPACE WITH OTHER TRAVELERS. LET'S SEE, 5 THINGS I COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT? FRIENDS, BOOKS, PUBLIC TV, MY GARDEN, AND QUIET. SINCE I AM SPANISH SPEAKING, I LIKE TO TRAVEL TO MEXICO AND PUERTO RICO (WHERE MY CHILDREN LIVE) AND MY FAVORITE TRAVEL DESTINATION OF ALL TIME IS EASTERN TURKEY. MY LIFE MOTTO WOULD HAVE TO BE: "LIVE AND LET LIVE."
