We had a lovely time at the Bunk House and think it will be an experience our kids will treasure. Liz and Bruce were great, they were very welcoming and told us interesting stories about the place and the area but also allowed us to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the ranch. The Bunk House is as charming and comfortable as it appears in the photos and the area is tremendous. Highly recommended.
My excpectations of the Bunk house were very high. Maybe a bit too high. I found it a pitty that there was no one to welcome us, not even for a short moment. There was a lady sitting on a porch, pointing her finger towards the bunk house and that was it. It was a bit too unpersonal to my taste. Given the fact that during the reservartion, Bruce was really responsive I expected a bit more. On the other hand there were some really nice welcoming pastries in the house. The house itself was exactly as in the pictures. A cool place to stay.
We are sorry you did not receive the service which was expected of your stay. The Bunk House is a peaceful stay on our working ranch where guests can feel independent without having a full-service host, which may be different from other hosts. Every Airbnb is unique in its own way, and our approach is to allow our guests feel like home without being intrusive. It is mentioned in our bio that while we are around working on the ranch, we are present but that our guests can make themselves at home.
The bunk house was a beautiful, peaceful place perfect for a family occasion.
We used the bbq grill and the fireplace; everything was simple and easy, soooo cozy and relaxing. Jogging around the ranch in the morning among cows, horses, humming birds, hares, and deers was a big plus as well.
I would definitely visit again!
We had a great stay at Cow Track Ranch. The place is beautiful, the area is wonderful, and it is relaxing and exciting to stay on a working ranch. Liz and Bruce were both kind and welcoming.
Liz and Bruce's bunkhouse was a dream to stay at with friends for the weekend! They were so warm and welcoming. We had the opportunity to hike the hills, meet the cows and horses, and wake up to the sound of happy birds singing! They have such a beautiful property and I can't wait to come back!
What a dream!! Super peaceful, incredibly cozy. Liz and Bruce were very welcoming, made us feel right at home. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a gorgeous and rustic getaway.
We liked everything about the bunk house. Liz was very welcoming and provided us with homemade soap and pastries. The scenery was amazing and we loved the remote location. There were cows and horses right outside and the short hike up the hill gave us a great view of the whole ranch. Coming from Chicago the bunk house was a great chance of environment and our family (girls ages 7 & 10) thought it was a terrific adventure staying there. Thanks for having us!
About the Host, Liz & Bruce
Cow Track Ranch is a family owned & operated working cattle ranch which we have owned since 1986. We raise Angus Beef and Texas Longhorn cattle on our 468 acres in addition to seasonal produce. Our property is also a premier venue for rustic weddings and special events.
Bruce has been a large animal veterinarian for over 50 years and Liz has several businesses of her own including a line of artisan soaps, cooking seasoning products, children's fashion, home decor & more. Our sustainable produce is used for our soaps which are provided for our guests to enjoy. During your stay, feel free to purchase a few of these gift items from Liz's studio.
Feel free to explore the views that the ranch has to offer. We suggest a picnic by the pond or a hike to the top of the ranch. Visit our Guide Book for local cuisine & tours.
