  • Although we came in late due to our flight was delayed, Maria awaited us with tea and sweets. The house is very nice and in the outskirts of Alcochete. our room was perfect with the bathroom next door.
maria gave some tips on a nice restaurant in town and has more information on the region.
She is a real nice host and we recommend to stay at her place!

  • Lovely village with local culture & history at Alcochete. Very helpful from Maria.

She recommends the seafood restaurant is excellent with budget price.

Very tidy & comfortable house with fantasy experiences here.

  • I have been an active airbnb user for the last 2+ years, but this was the first time that i have booked a home stay. And i must say that the experience was wonderful.

Maria and Alice are great hosts. They made me feel welcome and completely at ease. No overbearing, no pressure but relaxed and pleasant.

I have decided to go to Alcochete as one of the prime birding areas of Portugal starts there (the Tagus estuary), but was taken in by the wonderful atmosphere of the town, the waterfront walking and the general feeling of relaxation.

I have enjoyed my experience thoroughly and would recommend it to those who want to have a pleasant base to explore Lisbon area, to get acquainted with portuguese culture, or just have a mini-break in quiet and beautiful surroundings.

  • I had a most wonderful time in Alcochete after staying in Lisbon for five days, even if it was too short of a stay to truly explore the area.

Maria and Alice were wonderful hosts and made my stay extremely pleasant.

On the night of my arrival, Alice cooked us a wonderful dinner and I was woken up the next morning with a delicious breakfast (which included homemade jams and even a small treat for the day ahead).

I spent the day exploring Alcochete by bike, which was a lot of fun. Maria had left me with a map and suggestions for restaurants in the village. I had a most delicious meal there and after exploring the village by foot biked on to explore the bird sanctuary from where I was able to watch an amazing sunset.

At the end of the day Maria and Alice returned home for work and we chatted about the happenings of the day (which is always nice, but especially so if you are travelling on your own).

Maria even dropped me off at the airport the next morning.

I am so glad I chose to stay with Maria and Alice for two nights. It was the perfect ending to my trip.

I should also say that I loved my room (the tree room) and that one can truly feel the love an care Maria has put into making this a wonderful home and place for visitors to stay.

I hope you all will have a wonderful time with the Maria and Alice and will enjoy exploring Alcochete and Lisbon as much as I did.
It's most definitely a place to return to sooner rather than later.

    Maria and Alice THANK YOU!

  • It was a pleasure to meet Maria and Alice!
We have spent 3 nights here. We came late but they were waiting with fresh drink, figs and pastels! They gave us everyhting we need - bus schedule, metro map, advices on what to see in Lisbon and around this city etc.
Room was very comfortable and homey, breakfast - especially delicious (it was the first time I tasted tomato jam, I won't forget it!), Maria and Alice - very friendly, careful (every morning there was a letter on a breakfast table) and perfect company (it was very sad that have not so much time to talk but still we had very lovely conversation!).
Thank you so much for your help, warm and unforgettable experience in Portugal - it was the best stay in Portugal!!!
P.S. waiting you in Lithuania :)))

  • We felt almost at home at Maria's.

Located in the suburb of Lisboa, the house is very easy to find and to access from the main roads. Commuting to Lisbon by car is also a walk in the park.

    Moreover, it is very comfortable.

Maria cares a lot about her guests. A perfect host!

Should we come back to Lisbon, we surely may consider coming back to Maria's!

  • We spent one night at Maria's home, on the way from the airport.
This place is very very very clean, comfortable and quiet. We were the only hosts and we had the bathroom just for us.
Maria is a very nice person and she welcomed us very friendly, preparing tea and delicious cakes for our late arrival, as well as little sweets in the room; We really have had the feeling to have been waited and received carefully as friends.
A special mention also for the delicious and copious breakfast (fresh and home-made products).

  • We stayed at Maria's and Alice's house in the little fishing village of Alcochete and really enjoyed it. Meeting the 2 beautiful ladies was a pleasure from the lovely room on the ground floor next to the bathroom to the wonderful yummy breakfasts with a local patisserie like the great pastel de (email hidden)t to mention a cup of wonderful natural organic tea from the garden before going to bed. Maria and Alice are serious about their food and have a very organized garden full of vegetables and herbs. They have chickens in the backyard and goats that roam around free. The little town is adorable and full of little restaurants and views over the water. Truly a very nice surprise and very close to Lisbon across the Vasco de Gamma bridge. It was so nice every night to come home into the country side and leave the city behind. Loved our stay and enjoyed the great hospitality extended but our hosts. Would definitely recommend!
