Hi, thanks for viewing my flat. The room is bright, small & cosy. It's a very quiet restful place. Only a 7 min walk to Surbiton train station. Located in a quiet, safe residential area. Best suited to mature travelers who like a peaceful haven.
ABOUT THE ROOM
The room is comfortably furnished with a double bed, hanging space and a side table. A big towel, cosy bed linen and an international adapter plug are all provided for your use.
I'm an artist and creative designer, who is upbeat, friendly and chilled. I work from home some of the time.
The flat has an open plan living / dining area. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom has a bath (with a hand shower). Wifi is included. Tea and coffee are available for you to help yourself to all day (breakfast is not provided).
Interaction with Guests
I work from home but do not always stay in the flat.
Surbiton has a lot to offer. There is a large Waitrose, health food shops, local shops, hairdressers and an array of restaurants and farmers market on the weekends. The river is only a stone throw away, if you fancy running or mountain biking along the river. Kingston town centre is about a 15minute walk away. It's an incredibly safe neighbourhood too with a real sense of community.
Surbiton train station is 7 minute walk away. There are also an extensive bus route at the end of the road, for Kingston, Tolworth, Hounslow, Richmond, Teddington, Twickenham, Hinchley Wood and Esher to name a few.
Other Things to Note
Guests checking in Monday – Friday please contact the host to agree a check in time around work hours.
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BOOKINGS
My home is available to rent for a minimum of a week over Christmas 22 - 28 Dec and New Year 29 Dec - 4 Jan. The booking is for the whole house. This includes:
2x double bedroom (sleeps 4)
1x dining room
Out of consideration, after 10pm please do not cook or take a bath.
Non-paying guests are not permitted in the property.
The usual wash up your own mugs and dishes and keep the bathroom tidy - leaving both kitchen and bathroom as you find it - would be appreciated. Food to be stored in the kitchen and not the bedroom.
No smoking property and no shoes in the house.
I'm located in a quiet residential area, so please be mindful of my neighbours (and myself), if you come in late.
Stay With Gillian on 3 separate occasions, as always Gillian was the perfect host! Friendly and very helpful! Would recommend to anyone. *****
My stay with Gillian was my first Air BnB experience living with a host. Gillian couldn't of been more welcoming and made me feel totally relaxed and comfortable living in her home. The Bedroom was just as discribed- comfy double bed with plenty of hanging space! The rest of the house is nicely decorated and Gillian was very relaxed about me using the kitchen/living room if i needed. Flat is in a good location with good transport links to central London. Gillian was generally a positive person to be around and i enjoyed my stay with her. Would defiently recommend!
This was my first experience booking with airbnb, and aside from a couple of issues with the website, my experience was great.
Gillian is friendly, upbeat and relaxed, her flat inviting, and the room was exactly as described...clean, comfortable, and warm.
The bathroom was also very clean. The only downside was no proper shower, only a bath with shower attachment (as noted however).
The town of Surbiton is lovely with lots of amenities, the train station was only a short walk away...trains to London leave frequently and take about 20-30mins; buses to nearby Kingston leave from the bottom of the street.
If I find myself needing a place here another time, I will definitely book with Gillian again.
I had the pleasure of staying with Gillian for several weeks while looking for a flat in London. She is a wonderfully warm and welcoming person and an exceptional host. The room is a very decent size, with a shelf and rack for your clothes, big bed with lots of fluffy pillows, and hardwood floors. The flat is cozy and beautifully decorated.
The local area is nice, especially Maple road which is just a few minutes walk from the flat, with cozy cafes and pubs. I also recommend The Pickled Pantry on St Mark's Hill and Maya Indian Restaurant on Brighton Road. 5-10 minute walk to the train station where you can get to Waterloo in 17 minutes.
This has been one of my best Airbnb experiences and I would definitely recommend it!
Gillian's place was immaculate. We didn't get to meet - both very busy. But I enjoyed my stay in this lovely flasyt very much and would recommend it without reservation. Thank you Gillian.
Gillian is a very warm, friendly and wonderful host. I have never before stayed at a stranger's house but I felt very welcome and comfortable from the moment I arrived. The apartment is in a lovely quiet area 5 minutes walk to the River. The room is clean and bright with a comfortable bed. A big plus is the lovely sunsets every evening from the window!
Thank you Gillian for a lovely stay
