About This Listing
Caveland is a complex of cave houses and terraces with amazing views and small gardens with lemon, pomegranate, orange, pear, vanilla and pistachio trees. The decor is largely home-spun, in refurbishing the walls we have used many types of local techniques and the rooms are furnished with refurbished antique and local furniture. In the late 18th century, this complex was used as a winery. In May 2011 we opened Caveland as a boutique hostel.
Each Cave has an A/C or a fan that can be turned into heating, heating blanket for the bed (you will appreciate this during the winter months), small kitchen corner with a fridge, double bed, closet.
Possibility to rent per week or month for discounted prices IN THE WINTER!
There is also a big communal kitchen for cooking, outdoor terraces and gardens with our dog Klara that stays outside! You can browse our bookshelves, join morning/evening yoga classes, chill out at the pool (June-September) or play tennis at our courts.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and as it was described in the ad. We appreciated staying in this town rather than any of the more touristy towns on the island. We also really loved the rooftop yoga that is offered on Thursdays and Mondays. And just a tip: the easiest way to get around is to rent a car, not through Caveland, but through Atlantic rental cars, which you'll find on your right en route to Fira or send an email: (email hidden).
Everyone was so accommodating, helpful and nice! The space is beautiful. Santorini is beautiful. You people are beautiful. Thank you! Cheers! Until next time!
The Caveland is a great place for us in Santorini! it looks exactly like the photos shown. We did not get to meet Veronika or Kostas but our stay was well greeted by the Reception.
Rooms were clean and showers were warm. The kitchen was basic for cooking but the common kitchen has almost everything. Breakfast was provided, trips to the volcano can be arranged. Location of the Caveland is 20mins walk to Fira but it wasn't a problem for us.
I stayed at Caveland for the whole week that I was in Santorini and loved it. I didn't meet the owners but the staff, Charlie and Rachel were great. Very friendly and helped book the volcano tour and pointing me in the right direction for gifts, food and rental cars. I had my own private room w/ shower which was perfect for me. The rooms next to mine were the hostel rooms, which is how I met my new friends. Caveland is also conveniently located central on the island, away from the hectic crowds. About 3 miles (5km) from the airport, 1.25 miles (2km) from the Fira bus station and a 20 min. drive to Oia. It is not like a honeymoon suite you would find in Oia, but I would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I had a great experience at Caveland! The room was very cozy and everything was as described. The area was beautiful and a close enough walk to the main parts of town. The only thing to know is it's more like a hostel than an Airbnb though the room is still private and very well kept.

About the Host, Veronika And Kostas
Hi, we are Veronika and Kostas and we own Caveland in Santorini! It is a former 18th century winery that we turned into a hostel and opened up in 2011. We enjoy travelling, meeting new people, good food, music, movies! Kostas is Greek, he works as a guide and likes restoring old furniture (check out Caveland's furniture, it's mainly his job ) and Veronika is Slovakian and likes new business ventures and yoga (check out Caveland yoga classes and retreats). We have almost a 2 years old son Sebastian who loves taking road trips with us and sleeping in his carseat and a newborn daughter Malvina. We use airbnb as travelers and also as hosts! When staying at Caveland, you will most probably meet our staff. If you join our summer BBQs or yoga classes, you'll meet us, too!
You can reach us on our phone from 9AM until 1PM and then from 3PM until 9PM.
