If you are interested in a winter vacation this is a great getaway. Our snowy winter is magic! When conditions are good we have a rink on the lake and great tobogganing! There are cross-country ski and snowmobile trails nearby. The four seasons cottage is on a township road with easy access to HWY 118, Port Carling (3 km). Our year round waterfront cottage (southern exposure) offers all the comforts of home in a Muskoka setting. The open concept main floor with new hardwood floors, dining for 8 plus a kitchen island that seats 4, opens through large glass doors to a screened in porch complete with furniture for relaxing or dining while overlooking the lake. The bright sky lit kitchen is beautifully equipped with pristine well water from every faucet. New queen beds in two bedrooms (one lakeside), 2 bathrooms (3 piece, 2 piece) and outdoor decking with BBQ complete the main floor. The lower level features a large family room with propane fireplace, satellite T.V. and comfy seating. There is also a small bedroom with twin beds and a larger bed/sitting room with new queen bed, couch and easy chair. A 3-piece bath and laundry room with washer, dryer and a second fridge and freezer complete the downstairs with a walkout to the popular shuffleboard court. There is a large parking area and storage shed. The property slopes gently to the lake with a firepit for summer, fall and winter cookouts, a large sand beach, large dock and water craft (rowboat, canoe). There is plenty of storage in a dockside shed for lifejackets, paddles, water toys etc. There are several golf courses, hiking, cross-country and snowmobile trails nearby. Brandy Lake is great for fishing, too! Our community offers great shops, dining, local food, as well as music, theatre, festivals, tourist attractions and Santa's Village for youngsters, all nearby. Weekly rentals only during July and August.
No smoking and no pets please.
We had a wonderful time at Linda's cottage over Family Day/Valentine's Weekend with our group of friends. The layout of the cottage was great for together time as well as smaller group activities. The ladies could enjoy some quiet arts and crafts time upstairs while the guys enjoyed playing video games downstairs on the big screen TV.
But it wasn't all indoor fun! Our group braved the -30 degree Celsius temperatures during the day by enjoying the fantastic driveway sledding! We loved the old school GT snow-racer. With Linda and Brian's permission, we dug out a snow pit near the shore of the frozen lake to have a winter bonfire on Valentine's Day night under the beautiful starry sky.
The cottage was warm throughout and it was easy to regulate the temperatures in the different rooms. The new flooring upstairs was beautiful and the dinning room table accommodated our group meals. There was even a custom made covering for the table for our evening card games and everything in the kitchen was easy to find.
Overall, a perfect winter getaway! Linda and Brian kept the lines of communication open from the second we booked the cottage to our departure on the final day. They are fantastic hosts and we would definitely consider staying at the property again.
We had a great time at Linda's cottage. Linda and Brian went out of their way to make us comfortable. The cottage was very nice, clean and cosy. The location was beautiful. We wouldn't change a thing!
We would love to visit their cottage again in the future (maybe in the summer when we can make use of the lake).
Linda's cottage is clean, cozy and well equipped. It was the perfect place for a family of 7 to slow down and enjoy simple pleasure. We watched hockey, played board games, went for a walk, visited a cranberry marsh, etc. We especially appreciate the interaction with Linda. She is friendly, informative and responsive. We would definitely come back! Thanks, Linda!
We had a great experience at Linda Mathers cottage. The view is beautiful. Although the lake is not big, but it is cute. Circulated by high land it is not windy on the lake which is ideal for canoeing/boating. Camp fire is a must do, the fire place is few steps away from the lake. The cottage is well maintained and the price is reasonable. In all, it was a nice journey and definitely worth a second try.
We had the most beautiful weekend at this stunning Muskoka cottage. The location is perfect and setting beautiful. The property is everything it is described to be plus more. Great for families or a group of friends with 4 bedrooms and adequate space for entertaining. The owners live next door and are very inviting yet make sure you have your privacy. Thank you Linda for a wonderful weekend. We will definitely be back.
Our family of 5 stayed at Brian and Linda's cottage for 5 nights. The communication prior to the booking and during our stay was excellent. Brian and Linda own the property next door and have kept this rental property in great shape. There was plenty to do during our stay with the paddle boat, row boat, canoe, swim toys, and shuffle board provided. There were life jackets made available for safe use of the lake activities. The kitchen was well equipped with the required cutlery, utensils. and pots/pans for cooking meals which is a main reason we rent self-catering holiday stays. The cottage is well located near Port Carling and near enough to Bracebridge and Huntsville for the day trips. We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in the Muskoka area and were glad to have been able to rent from Brian & Linda.
We are retired educators who have enjoyed life in Muskoka for over 40 years. We have grown children and grandchildren. We love to travel and golf. We live on the lake and have an adjacent property with a lovely four seasons cottage
