Maurizio is an awesome host. I emailed him a few days before our stay to ask for directions and he offered to pick us up. When my wife and I arrived from Rome on the Italo train Maurizio was there waiting for us. He has a Volkswagen Beetle so our small hand carry luggage was able to be stored.
The apartment has plenty of room and is about 650-700 sq ft. You can sleep two in the loft and two in the living room.
The bathroom is very clean with a standing room shower. Towels are provided.
The bedroom has a King sized bed where you can just "Crash-Out" after long days of walking through the cobbled streets of Florence.
Maurizo has a washer that also acts as a dryer. It's small so you have to wash and dry in small batches. Detergent provided.
If you're bringing adapters, Maurizio has electrical outlets that will fit both the skinny two pronged Italian adapters or the Schuko adapters which have the thicker prongs and are grounded.
Wi-Fi is available.
Maurizio's place is located away from the main tourist areas so you won't get too much foot traffic to disrupt your sleep. But its close enough so that you can walk to all the touristy spots. The Galleria Accademia where the David statue is housed is pretty much around the corner and just an 8 minute walk away.
Maurizio was also kind enough to call us a Taxi to the airport when we left. I would highly recommend Maurizio's place and we hope to come back and stay there again.
I stayed one month in this excellently-located apartment, and it was truly my "home away from home." All amenities are as described, and the apartment had everything I needed. After a long day sight-seeing, I especially appreciated the shower which has very good water pressure and lots of hot water. The apartment has plenty of space. The neighborhood felt safe and comfortable to me, walking at all times of the day and night. The location makes this a real gem - it is close to all the key sights, and an easy walk to the train station and bus station. The Wifi was also terrific, as I used the internet to plan each next day's adventure either in Florence or out in the surrounding Tuscan towns. Maurizio is a very thoughtful and considerate host, with good communication throughout the process, and thankfully speaks very good English (I have no Italian). He was so kind to drive me to the train station when I left, too. Then, when he discovered I had left an item behind in the apartment after I left, he contacted me and made extra effort to return the item to me. I definitely recommend this apartment, especially if you are looking for a highly desirable location, yet not in the midst of the loudest parts of the city. And Maurizio is a wonderful host!
This was the most beautiful apartment to stay in. The location is fantastic, it was clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. It is about 5 minutes walk to the Duomo and there are many restaurants and cafes in the vicinity. The Galleria Academia (where David resides) is even closer.
Maurizio was absolutely lovely, he picked us up from the train station and dropped us off on the following Sunday. He recommended places to eat, shop and things to see, as well as providing us with maps.
I stayed at Maurizio's apartment for a little over 5 weeks and could not have had a more enjoyable experience. I highly, highly recommend staying here while in Florence.
Maurizio was the perfect host - he was flexible about meeting me to get the keys, had a map ready for me so he could pinpoint the main spots as well as his favorite places, showed me how to use all the appliances, and had his apartment stocked full of everything I could need for my stay. When I was having trouble with the washing machine during my second week, Maurizio came by and fixed it very quickly! He also checked on me regularly to see if I was okay and if there was anything that I needed.
The apartment is larger than it looks pictures, is in a safe neighborhood (around the corner from the Four Seasons), and is very clean. Although it is in a super convenient location (less than a five minute walk to the Duomo), it is also in a quiet spot without the crowds of tourists surrounding you. I regularly walked home alone from the train station (about a 15 minute walk) at night and never felt unsafe doing so.
Finally, one bonus of the apartment is that the internet included is portable. While at the apartment, the small devise stays plugged in and is strong enough to stream movies online. When you leave the apartment, you can take the devise with you for internet on the go. It lasts about 4 hours before it needs to be charged again, and I took it with me on my day trips to Rome, Milan, and Venice. As an international traveler relying on Wi-Fi, it made everything so much easier.
Again, I highly recommend staying at Maurizio's place when in Florence. If I return in the future, I will definitely be staying here again.
Thank you, Maurizio, for being such a generous host!
THis lovely apartment was beautifully furnished. It was within waliking distane from most of FLorence's sights. Maurizio was most helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this aparetment to all who seek a high standard of accommodations. Thank you once again Maurizio.
My husband and I were grateful to have such a spacious, conveniently located and clean place to stay during our three night visit to Florence. Maurizio is the perfect host - he picked us up from the train station and also drove us back at the end of our stay, which we were not expecting. He spent some time with us to ensure we were aware of the tourist traps, and the best places for gelato, pizza, etc.
The apartment has plenty of space for two people, even four would be fine. The washer/dryer is convenient, as is the free wifi. There were plenty of added touches that made settling in easy, staples such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil and vinegar in the cupboards, and a hair dryer to make travelling light and easy. The bed was large and comfortable, and there was plenty of linen.
I would not hesitate to recommend Maurizio's apartment to anyone who wants to visit Florence!
One review better than the other? Wait a second, here comes the next one! Maurizio's flat is seriously fantastic with 10 walking minutes to the city centre. Super clean, safe, WIFI, very kind host and loads of restaurants nearby. Thanks again Maurizio!
Enjoyed the stay at Maurizio's warm and cosy apartment. A short walk from the Duomo and hidden from the crowd. Apartment was well furnish with a Washing Machine and Dryer which was great for us to refresh our cloths during our trip. The apartment was near Four Season's Hotel and would recommend to check out the hotel's garden which was part of the old palace grounds.
This was a great apartment, and Maurizio was a terrific host. He was very helpful in providing us recommendations and directions to get started. He was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The wifi was great - a big help in planning each day. The apartment was in a great location, very clean and well cared for. There is quite a bit of street noise that comes into the apartment, especially during morning rush hour or recess for the nearby school - most of the time we weren't there during the day so it wasn't a big deal. At night it's very quiet. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
