The space
This two-story handcrafted treehouse overlooks ten acres of property.

Brand new upper deck on the rear of the treehouse allows for more privacy and expansive views of the forest.

The lower story features private a wraparound deck, perfect for relaxing with a morning cup of coffee, and a cozy indoor sitting area for curling up when the weather turns chilly. The upstairs sleeping nook is surrounded by picture windows, which allows you to stargaze without ever leaving your bed.

This space was handcrafted by my family in 2017 with live-edge cedar siding, tongue-and-groove pine walls, and a locally-sourced lodgepole pine staircase. My husband built the main structure and I designed the interior. Our two young daughters helped to cut and measure boards. A lot of love went into creating a private, relaxing environment for our family and our guests.

** COMING SOON ** a ground level outdoor living room that includes a kitchen with a sink and a grill for preparing your meals. There will also be an outdoor shower complete with running hot water. Estimated completion date, June 1, 2021. (This is not a guarantee and no cancellations will be honored if the project is not complete by then)

Guest access
Property is bordered on three sides by the 1.6 million-acre Bitterroot National Forest and provides easy access to outdoor recreation and activities. Snowmobile or four-wheel right from your door, ski at Lost Trail Powder Mountain, climb 10,000 foot Trapper Peak, or visit Painted Rocks Lake for kayaking, fishing, swimming, and jet skiing.

We are also close to several natural hotsprings. Check out Lost Trail Hotsprings for a soak in their chemical-free mineral waters or venture to totally undeveloped Horse Creek Hotsprings and seek out a naturally-occurring heated pool formed by warm water flowing directly out of the ground.

On the weekend, wrap up your adventures with a visit to The Broad Axe restaurant. We especially recommend their New York strip paired with your favorite evening beverage.

Other things to note
This rental is entirely off the grid, so relax and unplug. The treehouse is without cell service and Internet-free. Landline is available in host’s home in case of emergency. Solar panels power the lights and can charge a cell phone.

Propane grill and cooler are available on request. Hosts do not provide water. Please bring all you need for drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, etc.

Brand new composting toilet on the lower level.

Our property is very remote. We are located in the forest. There are a few other properties but our real neighbors are the wildlife that we share the forest with. The wildlife is abundant and frequently here on the property. The Bitterroot River is 1.7 miles away to meet all your fly-fishing needs. Hiking and biking trails are endless. This is the ultimate location for summer or winter outdoor recreation.

My husband and I fell in love with The Bitterroot Valley 6 years ago. At the time, we lived near Seattle. We worked full time and ran a successful business, but we rarely saw each other or our children. Moving to Montana allowed us to reconnect with ourselves and with our family life. This is a rich place to live: there are gorgeous mountains, tons of trees, and abundant wildlife. We want to share this beauty and peace with other people looking for a chance to relax and reconnect. We have discovered a love of hosting during our years as Airbnb hosts. We specialize in properties in the south section of the Bitterroot Valley. If you are considering renting out your home, let's chat. Property Management is our specialty.
