Our URBAN 1870's Historic Farmhouse is in the Heart of Summerville & we would love for you to come & stay with us! We will make you a FARM TO TABLE BREAKFAST DAILY! You can snuggle our cute URBAN FARM ANIMALS or book our GOAT YOGA class! See our restoration of our fixer-upper up close all while being nearby to Charleston, Historic Gardens, and literally across the street from conveniences!
We like to say we are city in the front & country in the back!

We are kind of like a Bed & Breakfast, only better, because you will be our only guests! We have 2 guest bedrooms and a sunroom, that are all adjoining. The guest bedrooms are located on the second floor of our home.

BEDROOM #1-This was our homes original master bedroom, and has a King size bed that is heavenly to sleep in, a large closet, and makeup vanity. This room has its own door to the hallway but also has an adjoining door to bedroom #2.

BEDROOM #2-Has a cozy Queen size bed and a window over looking our mini farm animals. This room has its own door to the hallway as well, but also has the adjoining door back to bedroom #1 and also the entrance via glass door to the sunroom.

SUNROOM-The adjoining partly finished sunroom has a cozy sectional with a small TV hooked up with Roku (Hulu, Netflix, & Amazon, NO cable). The sunroom is bright and airy with 6 windows and it overlooks our mini-farm backyard. Guests may couch surf on the sectional in the sunroom if they wish, it has Heat/AC but still may be warmer/colder in there depending on the time of year, and we have extra pillows and blankets of course. We plan to renovate this room in the near future.

GUEST BATHROOM-The newly restored guest bathroom is located in the hallway just outside the guest bedrooms. The guest bathroom has a gorgeous antique clawfoot tub/shower, fluffy white towels, shampoo/conditioner/and our homemade goat milk soap we make here on our mini-farm. This guest bathroom is just for guests, not shared. We have an additional shared half-bathroom downstairs as well.

This booking includes both bedrooms, sunroom, and bathroom. If you are needing to book just 1 room, please see our other listings in our profile. Please note the single rooms do not include breakfast, but you can add it on to your stay.

We will serve you a FARM TO TABLE BREAKFAST daily including eggs from our backyard chickens, local humane pasture-raised bacon or sausage, organic & local fruits, freshly baked goods, and honey from our own beehives when available! We take pride in buying local and supporting humanely-raised animals and hope you can appreciate that as well. This is reflected in our pricing. If you would like to skip breakfast we can offer a $15 a night discount. Please message us before booking to receive the discount.

Although once upon a time this was a countryside farmhouse, the town of Summerville has grown and built up around our home, and we are only 1 of 2 remaining farms left inside the town limits. We are right in the middle of Summerville. So we are definitley an urban farm, meaning we live in a busy area, are close to everything you need 9literally across the street), and you will hear the occasional siren along with our rooster. That why we like to say we are city in the front, and country in the back! You can see a map of our area in one of our pictures.

Guests Must Love Animals! We have an urban mini-farm of 6 dwarf goats, a mini Scottish Highland bull, 2 dozen-or-so chickens, 3 dogs, 2 beehives, 1 giant tortoise, and barn cats. We have been told we have some of the friendlist animals you can meet & snuggle! We also host Goat Yoga here on most Saturdays (except in July, August, January, & February, no classes)! Our animals do like to greet the morning, especially our rooster, Blue, and hens singing their "egg song" to lay an egg for your breakfast :) We have sound machines in each room if this should bother you.
The dogs will mainly be kept in back in the kitchen/backyard during your stay. They will bark occasionally when folks enter the house and meeting new people, they're just doing their job! We do not allow the dogs around toddlers. Our home also has breakables and isn’t too childproof with the steep stairs, so please consider all this before you book with us.

We want your stay with us to be relaxing & enjoyable! Please let us know if we can do anything to make it perfect! Our blog and website, Flowertown Charm, @flowertowncharm, also has videos and more pictures and insight into our fixer-upper home and lifestyle. We have also been featured in Country Living, Azalea, and Carolina Tails Magazines, so be sure to check those out too!

Where you’ll be

Summerville, South Carolina, United States

Summerville is a historic family town that is nicknamed “Flowertown in the Pines” because something is always in bloom, and we take pride in preserving our trees, especially the pines. We are famous for our Flowertown Festival in April and home to many artists.
Our home is in the heart of Summerville, and is urban, so we are across the street from grocery shopping centers which are very convenient but also in a busy area. We have a Health & Wellness Spa one door down which we highly recommend. The best restaurant in Summerville and #33 in the US on Yelp, Myles & Jun Yakitori is basically a block away.
Then there is a Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Walgreens, Starbucks, Tuesday Morning, pizza, sushi, bistro, Chinese food, a gym, Applebee's, and many more restaurants within a block from our house. We do have sound machines in each room if any noise from being in the city or on a busy road should bother you.

We are about 15 minutes away from the beautiful gardens of Middleton Place & Magnolia Plantation. And about 25-30 minutes from downtown Charleston! Some of our favorite restaurants are 5 minutes away: Myles & Jim Yakitori, The Icehouse, Red Pepper, Shuckin’ Shack, 5 Loaves Cafe, and Accent on Wine!

I am from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii where I was born and raised and also met my husband, Chris, when we were 16 years old. We decided after college to move to mainland. We lived in Nevada & Arizona for a bit, but eventually decided to buy our dream home in Summerville, SC. Which is an 1870's historic fixer-upper farmhouse we now call home. We have since added a mini-farm and have dogs, goats, mini-cows, chickens, barn kittens, a giant tortoisem and beehives. We have a blog on our home, Flowertown Charm, which documents our progress with renovations, as well as our Etsy shop, painting furniture, mini-farm, and goat yoga! We also hope to soon add an off-grid treehouse to our airbnb listings that we are starting to build soon with 23 acres of mountain property we purchased in near Asheville, NC in 2020. Stay tuned! We love it here, and although we were hesitant to have strangers in our home at first, we decided to open our home to Airbnb! We also love kayaking, hiking, grilling, animals, and we're renovating and DIY fanatics. As hosts, we are a little quiet until we warm up to you, but we're a caring, friendly, and accommodating couple. Much Aloha here! We hope you come to stay with us!

During your stay

We live in the home and also work from home, so we are usually here if you need us!
We do wake up early to tend to the farm animals, so you may hear us moving about. Our bedroom is also on the second floor with the guest rooms, but we sleep with a sound machine and are very used to guests coming and going!
