Discover Montmartre and the unique feel of a small village Within the City, a relaxed atmosphere, overflows with cafes, restaurants, and several open Markets.
Montmartre offers a unique experience of France: it has one of the latest vineyard of Paris, the "funicular" of Montmartre allows you for the price of a bus ride to go up the hill and enjoy a stunning view of the capital - both during the day and at night.
The "Cafe des deux Moulins" has shown in the blockbuster "Amelie Poulain" is also a nice place to rest and feel the atmosphere of this lovely district. A lot of artists, painters, musicians also gather around the stairs and cafes of Montmartre, providing again a nice cultural and touristic experience.
For all these reasons and much much more, Montmartre is known as a wonderful village within the Capital, come and stay with us to add great memories to your traveling book!
We stayed at Thomas' for our honeymoon and we could not have made a better choice! The flat is about a 10m walk to the Sacre Couer and near the bustling streets of Montmartre!
Thomas welcomed us and left red roses and a white wine for us to celebrate our "lune de miel". He was absolutely welcoming!
(i) the house has lots of personality, specially if you like music and art. The live piano and fireplace gives an automatic romantic feeling to any couple;
(ii) The music collection is bound to make your stay a perfect one (no tv in the living room which even makes for a cosier ambiance);
(iii) two metro stations (Chateau Rouge and Marcadet-Poissoniers) at walking distance (5m) that can take you virtually anywhere;
(iv) three great restaurants at walking distance: the best couscous in town at Le Petit Bleu (rue muller); french cuisine @ Le eté en pente douce (next door to Le Petit Bleu) and Le Patio for a quick bite or a nice lunch at really low prices (we ate a lot for 10 euros each).
(v) His movie collection at your disposition for calmer evenings you may stay in (from Alex Proya's Dark City to Woody Allen's Interiors);
(vi) Fully functional Kitchen;
(vii) several boulangeries and supermarkets near by.
(i) the stairs to the bed rooms are not suited for older people;
(ii) no elevator but the stairs are not that difficult. For us this was not a problem.
All in all, if you stay at Thomas you can be sure to be well treated, safe and, above all, you can live like a true Parisian for a few days.
5 stars out of 5.
Don't hesitate to book! Very well kept apartment - we were thrilled with our stay here! Only about a 10-minute walk to the center of Montmartre. Thomas was very quick to respond to my initial request (minutes, not hours), and his friend Pascaline who met us was lovely and accommodating. The apartment was close to grocery stores and the subway, making our stay to Paris feel like home. We indulged in music at all hours, with Thomas' brimming music selection and surround-sound stereo set up.
Both beds were comfortable, and there were many extra towels and sheets. Perfectly suited for 1-3 people.
I recommend getting off at the Chateau Rouge subway stop if it's late at night.
Thomas was prompt answering my emails, as was Pascaline, his friend who met us at the apartment. As others have said, his fine music and movie collection (which you are free to use) make me wish I had met Thomas. The apartment was clean and looked like the pictures, and the beds were comfortable. A Metro stop, shops, and restaurants are close by. Five flights of steps are a lot with suitcases, but in truth, it seemed like nothing after the steps at Notre Dame, Basilique du Sacre Coeur, L'Arc de Triomphe, La Tour Eiffel, and all the many metro steps. I agree with another reviewer--it just allowed us to eat more great French food! The tight spiral steps down from the bedroom upstairs, however, were tricky in the dark for someone getting up in the night to use the bathroom. Our 18-year-old daughter slept on the day bed on the main floor, so we didn't want to wake her with lights, but the creaking spiral stairs woke her anyway. The bathroom is also very small--my husband is over 6' tall with long arms and he felt cramped in the shower. I imagine the fireplaces (2!) would be wonderful to use if you visited in the winter. This is a place with character and personality, not a sterile hotel room.
We had a great stay at Thomas' apartment. The place is beautiful, comfortable and clean, and is located in the best neighborhood in Paris. Thomas was polite, communicative and helpful. We certainly intend to stay there again when next in Paris.
We went to Paris for a concert and it turned out that the venue was around the corner! So were a great supermarket and LOTS of steep stairs up to Sacré-Cœur :) A friend greeted us and gave us a tour around the apartment. Great location and other places were easy to reach from there. Nice view from the apartment and everything needed (plus a great music collection) was provided. The cleaning lady was a bit early, but nice. Thomas: thank you! Hope to come by again and meet you!
Thomas wasn't in town to greet us but his friend gave us a friendly tour of the flat. It's a traditional Parisian flat in the charming district of Montmartre, and a short walk away from Sacre Coeur. The tightly wound handleless staircase and the 5th floor climb to the flat may be a con for some, but it made the place feel old and lovely. Oh, and Thomas' music collection is solid. Big Otis Redding fan!
This was a lovely apartment in the Montmartre and ideal for a stay in Paris. We really enjoyed Thomas's music and the overall experience. Comfortable and very hospitable. Recommend!!
This is the kind of Paris apartment I dreamed of as a young man.
Not quite an artist's garrett but definitely up among the chimney pots.
the location is perfect; (email hidden)ly area and only a short walk from the Metro, Montmartre and the flea markets beyond.
The flat (email hidden)d-in' old Paris feel but with all modern conveniences, including wi-fi, TV (over the bed) and plenty of music and film discs to play. We even share the same tastes!
There is a cute spiral stair to take you up to the bedroom; how cool is that...
The apartment was so lovely, in great location. We enjoyed the big big music collection...Super! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you very much for this great time in Paris.
We had a wonderful time staying at Thomas' Apartment. It was in a great location, and the pictures look exactly as the apartment does. Would love to stay here again!
