Maria and her boyfriend were great--professional, quick to respond and friendly. Internet wasn't working while we were there, but they gave us password to eat at a local bar, where they offered breakfast as well (included in the price).
Four of us stayed in Cesare’s apartment for one night and enjoyed it very much – it is spacious and light. The stairs to the terrace were too steep for my elderly parents to climb, but had the weather been better, my sister and I would have thoroughly enjoyed it! Cesare met us at a nearby square, helped us with the luggage. He did not mind our late check out and was kind enough to come over on a super short notice with a spare set of keys when we locked ourselves out! Great host. Thank you, Cesare.
Staying at Carpe Diem was great - Cesare was a very helpful and friendly host and we enjoyed the time in beautiful Monopoli.
The roof terrace was the perfect place to have breakfast in the morning or to experience the dawn in the evening with a glass of wine.
If we come back to Monopoli another time, we'd surely love to stay at Carpe Diem again.
We had a fantastic time in Carpe Diem. The 2 bedroom apartment had two large double bedrooms, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the outside space on the roof had views of the beach and sea. The air-conditioning was powerful, and although we didn't use it, there was a washing machine. The only problem we had was the shower, which wouldn't drain but that was quickly fixed by Cesare who arrived over only 10mins after I called him.
The apartment was centrally located in the old town of Monopoli, with only a minute walk from both a supermarket and the beach. The apartment was very clean, and the breakfast was served at a nearby bar which included a juice, cappuccino, croissant (plain or chocolate) and biscuits with strawberry jam and nutella.
If you are looking to stay in Monopoli, or Polignano, then look no further then Carpe Diem. You will not regret it.
PS If you are in Polignano, I recommend the Coffee Special, which is served across from the main gates of the old town. We are still trying to figure out what was in it. Delicious
Very nice Host, and very very very well situated ! And a real bonus for the terrace.
Monopoli is one of the cutest city in Puglia, and Carpe Diem is perfectly located in the historical center. The place is adorable, modern and clean. Great breakfast as well. Cesare welcomed us and was really helpful anytime.
Highly recommended ! Thanks again !
I hope my comment will be visible this time. I loved Carpe Diem. Sweet little apartment very clean and quiet. Mara and Cesare are great hosts. I couldn't find the place where I was supposed to meet Mara and she came to pick me up at the station. The breakfast restaurant is great. I really loved Carpe Diem. Thank you!!!
This apartment is clean and comfortable. There is a huge shared terrace up a couple of flights of stairs, and you have your own separate section of the terrace, all with beautiful sea views - we were lucky enough to have one a terrace with a shade cover where we ate breakfast every day. Cesare was a very very helpful and communicative host, we had minor internet issues which he went out of his way to help us with. You are only about 20metres from a plunge in the sea from the harbour rocks, or a 3 minute walk to the closest sandy beach. Glorious. The historic centre of Monopoli has a lovely relaxed feel, with all the little shops and fresh food you need. Vini & Panini also a great local casual restaurant suggestion from Cesare. (One thing to be aware of is that the apartment itself doesn't have views, but it doesn't matter because of the wonderful terrace with sea views upstairs and how close you are to the beach and the lovely old town location.)
Monopoli is a nice city, perfectly located in between Bari (40 min), Alberobello (40 min) and Brindisi (50 min). It has countless nice beaches nearby.
The apartment is really cute and clean, located in the charming old town, about 50m from the closest beach. The kitchen is well equipped and having the breakfast included avoids some headaches. I recommend habving the breakfast on the terrace, lovely experience.
Cesare and Mara are nice and welcoming hosts. We loved staying there.
