We were in Austin for our son's wedding and thought the location of this home was wonderful! We could walk to South Congress and to 1st street, although we drove on some trips because it was pretty hot in late June. We walked up to Doc's for a nightcap three of the nights. We were almost "regulars".
The kitchen was great, although we didn't cook much. The bed in the Master bedroom was good. The shower in bathroom that connected to the Master bedroom had pretty low water pressure, so we used the shower in the other bathroom, which was terrific!
My son did ok on the other bed although the bed lost a slat during the night, which woke him up but he didn't seem to mind. He was used to IKEA type beds!
The instructions and suggestions from Kat were great. It all worked perfectly in that regard. We had a great wedding and a great stay.
Kat was communicative, clear, and kept a very cozy home for myself and my friends. It was a perfect home base for us in Austin and I'd love to come back to stay again!
Kat was a very responsive and friendly host. The house the four of us stayed in was in a quiet and well located neighborhood near South Congress and we were able to walk to many places. However, the house itself was in need of better lighting in the living room/dining area. It was difficult to read in the main room. Also, the bed in the front bedroom was very creaky, as were the floors in the house. We also detected a mildewy odor in the house. The back patio was not inviting to use and the property around the house, in general, needed to be cleaned up and made more presentable. On the plus side, the house was equipped with whatever we needed. This was our first airbnb rental and we were somewhat disappointed.
Thank you for your feedback, Lisa. In the house's defense, the weekend you visited was when the floods of central Texas hit and it was unusually dark and wet: normally, the natural light is enough to keep the house feeling bright and the dampness and extra leaves in the yard/patio were most likely due to the abnormally high level of everyday rain we had that weekend and not to mention the entire month of May. I am glad you all enjoyed your stay otherwise and that the location near SOCO was a plus for you! Next time, hopefully the weather will cooperate better and, again, we do appreciate the feedback.
Location, Convenience, Beauty! This place has it all. This cabin is in the middle of an incredible modern neighborhood, surrounded by amazing remodeled homes. This cabin is so well kept and is quaint and perfect for a long weekend of experiencing Austin!
If I lived in Austin, this is where I'd live! Thanks, Kat!
Kat was great. This cool little house was super convenient to South Congress with most shops and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Even the South 1st zone was not much further.
Kat was a fabulous host, and was very accommodating to our needs during the stay, telling us where to find things etc. The cottage was exactly as advertised, and a very easy walk to South Congress, my favourite part of Austin. I would definitely stay there again, and have no hesitation in recommending the property.
