Nestled in the Sierra Azul Mountain Range in Los Gatos, we enjoy AMAZING unobstructed views of the Entire Silicon Valley... San Francisco to Gilroy from 1700ft altitude! This private retreat is perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating, surrounded by forest, streams and wildlife! Relax in complete solitude, refresh with chemical-free, great tasting spring water and crisp clean air high above the smog of Silicon Valley! Great Hiking/Biking Trails at your backdoor!

The space
Our home and the 500sf cabana are mostly surrounded by Mid Peninsula Open Space Nature Preserve, which boasts long, scenic hiking and biking trails through the Sierra Azul mountains. With no nearby neighbors, our view is green fields in front, untouched forest behind, and all Silicon Valley beneath us! Replenish with the cold, fresh spring water. Breathe the clean, crisp air high above the Valley smog! Wildlife is abundant here and you will likely see deer, quail, bobcats, turkeys, owls, peacocks, foxes, rabbits, hawks and possibly a mountain lion! This is their natural protected habitat, we are fortunate to call it our home too! We are happy to share our blessings with like-hearted nature lovers!

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the private pool, hot-tub, and landscaped areas around the cabana, including koi pond with waterfall and sitting area, and pet-garden with friendly rabbits and goats, 3 friendly Pyrenees guard dogs protect our livestock. Hiking and Biking Trails all nearby, miles and miles of natural forest. After September 2017, access to Mt. Umunhum will open for the first time in decades, which will provide 360 degrees of unobstructed views of the area.
Discover the mining history of the Almaden Quicksilver area, with it's blue/green rocks, many natural springs/streams, old lime kilns, and old abandoned mines. Visit the New Almaden Quicksilver Museum.

Other things to note
Some of the last mile up to the property is a maintained wide dirt road. It can be dusty in summer and muddy in winter, but it's perfectly accessible to any vehicle (does not require 4WD). Probably not ideal if you have a super-low sports car.

Breakfast is offered for an additional fee. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you would like us to serve breakfast.

Our property is in a secluded, private area. Please clear with us in advance, anyone else that might be arriving other than the booked guests.

The listing price includes 8% Transient Occupancy Tax that we have to collect for the county of Santa Clara.

Several hiking trails start near the house, many others are just a few minutes drive (Almaden Quicksilver Park, Woods trail, Kennedy trail, Priest Rock Trail, and more). Trail maps can be found online and on-site.
Other than the main residence, the land has been preserved in its natural condition, large oak and bay trees, springs and streams (seasonally).
