Its just about the best place to live in Dublin. Everything on your doorstep, including lovely restaurants, lively pubs, barista cafes, and 20 mins walk to St. Stephens Green, the main pedestrianised shopping area on the south side of the city.
Take the aircoach from Dublin airport. Direction Doubletree Hotel.Cross the road, and walk up Appian Way. At the top of Appian way, turn left into village, and third road on right hand side is Ashfield Road. No. 93 is the first house on the right hand side beside the Italian restaurant. Approx. 12 minute walk from Doubletree Hotel.

Mary was away on business so she explained how to obtain the keys and left a note for me with the wifi code. I asked about a hair dryer ahead of time and she had one in the drawer. The decor and vibe in the house was so cozy and calming. Everything was clean. The pillow was really comfortable. There was a Dublin travel book and map on the shelf in the room. My only suggestion, if you are staying in the summer and are sensitive to light like I am, is to bring an eye mask or scarf. The sun rises close to 0500 so the room can get bright pretty early. There is so much right near the location- corner stores, pharmacy, breakfast places, restaurants, a supermarket. I was there studying and the house was quiet and perfect for me. Getting to UCD was easy on the Dublin bus as it would be to get to city center. I was told the area is a posh, up and coming location so the restaurants are more on the expensive side, which I didn't mind. Ultimately, it felt like home and I would love to stay again next time I come to Dublin. I highly recommend it.
Mary was very nice and helped me with info on bus connection to my meeting. My room was simple, but nice, cosy and quiet. It is not the same room as seen on the picture. Nice bathroom. Internet available. The Ranelagh neighbourhood is outstanding, nice architecture, full of cafees, restaurants, gourmet choclate etc, close to city center and fast bus connections to airport and city. Mary's place is great place to stay if you want to explore Dublin.
Mary is a great host, even though we just briefly met in person during my time in Dublin, she made sure I had access by time I got there and everything necessary to make my stay comfortable.
The room and house is clean, full of natural light and nicely decorated with an attention to detail. It had the vibe of a real home.
The house is in an optimal location; on the quiet Ashfield Road a few meters from a more busy street with restaurants, barber shops, supermarkets and bus stops literally right there.
Mary is a lovely woman and her house is the perfect place from which to explore Dublin. The neighborhood has lots of interesting cafes, pubs, and restaurants. It's an easy walk to central Dublin, and the trams and buses are close by, too. It was especially easy to get from Dublin airport to Mary's place.
I'd definitely recommend it.
