The Rutledge Kitchen House is located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula in the historic "South of Broad" neighborhood and is surrounded by many antebellum mansions.

Walk to the Battery, Rainbow Row, King Street, the Calhoun Mansion, the Heyward Washington House, shops, museums, and restaurants. Stroll to White Point Garden to see the sunset over the harbor.

The space
The Rutledge Kitchen House (c. 1830) was restored in 2016 to the highest standards and received a prestigious Carolopolis and Pro Merito award from the Preservation Society of Charleston for its exceptional restoration and preservation.

The three story , 2,000 square foot home has a master bedroom (queen bed) with an ensuite bathroom (with shower) and walk in closet (with washer and dryer) on the third floor; a second bedroom (queen bed) with an ensuite bathroom (with tub/shower), den and sunroom on the second floor, and a kitchen, dining area (with seating for 6) and living room with two fireplaces on the first level.

The home boasts smart TVs in the bedrooms, den and living room; top of the line appliances in the kitchen (Bosch dishwasher, Subzero refrigerator, Wolf dual gas range, Keurig coffee maker, and Wolf countertop toaster/ convection oven, and Cararra marble countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Outside you will find a table with an umbrella and chairs for coffee in the morning or sipping wine in the afternoon. The kitchen is well stocked, the linens are all high-end European made. There are hair dryers, iron and ironing board provided as well. Parking os provided for one (1) car. If you don't feel comfortable navigating our narrow driveway, we will leave parkiing passes for the street.
We adhere to a strict 4:00 check in unless an earlier check in has been approved.
We provide off street parking for one car.
The second floor sofa is not to be used for sleeping.

Guest access
The Rutledge Kitchen House is located behind an impressive Greek Revival plantation style house and is accessed by walking (or driving) down the driveway, past the main house. There is off- street parking available for one vehicle. Please note that the driveway is quite narrow and if you don't feel comfortable navigating it, we will provide parking passes for the street for one (1) car. The property is not appropriate for young toddlers as it is not baby proofed and the narrow stairs.

Other things to note
The Rutledge Kitchen House is located in a quiet neighborhood, so parties and events are not permitted and will be cause for eviction with no refund. Please be respectful of the owners who live on the premises and the neighbors at all times. Should a holiday fall on a Monday, a Friday or Saturday night stay is required. The courtyard is available only upon request.

We are within walking distance to many museums, restaurants, parks, the battery and beautiful gardens. We are surrounded by historic antebellum mansions and beautiful gardens.There are four beaches nearby. The Battery is one block away. We are one half block to White Point Garden.
