The Saya Wasi house is beautiful in its own right, perfectly situated above Cusco with the most picturesque views of the city that you can imagine. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. At night the water doesnt always run- this was frustrating for us since we were doing lots of strenuous activities during the day and would have liked to be able to use the shower. The caretaker is very kind, but speaks almost no English (which is jarring given that the listing and all communication are done in English). She runs the place a bit like a hotel- the morning breakfasts are stunning, but she was a bit overly enthusiastic about sevice often not letting us use the kitchen to find utensils and dishes and often interrupted us during the day. Ammenities like the tea kettle that doesn't stay on unless the hold the button down or the propane heater that doesn't like to stay lit. Overall a beautiful space- but a bit overpriced for the quality of the space and we didn't feel like guests in someone's home- instead guests in a house someone is running a small hotel out of.

Response from Denis:
Thanks for your comments. We have change the kettle and fix the heater. We do have a reccurent problem with the water supply this year. We suffer a lot of cuts from the city, only two hours of running water per day. Even though we have two tanks of 1000 liters, we notice that it is not sufficient because of the use of our guests. So we just added another tank of 1000 liters to supply the lack that we had suffered.

Mixed feelings. I would still recommend it for the view, just not for the listed rental price. As lovely as the view of the city was from the bedroom, my husband and I found ourselves conflicted with our stay. Pros: - Marleni and her son, Arnold were very hospitable and welcoming - Exceptional view of the city Cons: - Not accessible with a cab - only by foot - be prepared to hike with your bags! - Alas, Denis was not present when we checked in. (Arnold was very helpful and arranged for us a cab to the airport in the morning.) - We also had issues with the water pressure being very poor and found it was also difficult to regulate the temperature. - One of our stays, the hand towel was not changed out and clearly hand earwax on it - Reserved the room for two people, and had to ask for a second batch towel, twice - Light bulb burnt out - Difficult to find the place In the end the place was lovely, just ran into several minor issues that made our stay to as great as we had hoped.

Response from Denis:
Hi Constance. I m really sorry for the inconveniences you have had during your stay. We are located in a special place to have the view, but difficult of access, that is why i have sent you the detailled indications to find the place and we are registered on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps. Unfortunately, in third world countries, the water pressure is a constant issue,. I have asked Marleni to be more attentive to fresh towels and light bulbs in the future, thanks for raising the issues. Saludos cordiales Denis

When my friends and I walked into our triple room (after being greeted by Marleni), we were speechless. The view from the room (and patio below) is stunning. We received very clear directions on how to find the place (there are a number of stairs but it's worth it!) and everything was clean and lovely. The shower was hot. Beds were comfy. The San Blas neighbourhood is great with lots of restaurants nearby (Green Point, a veggie restaurant Marleni recommended, is excellent and we returned multiple times) and it's a quick walk to the main square. We very much enjoyed our time in Cusco, and I would highly recommend this Airbnb.

Just as described in the post. Made us breakfast every morning! Had a service like a hotel with a local vibe. The view is definitely worth it! Thanks Denis and Arnold!
