We arrived earlier than Rhonda expected and she greeted us warmly and promptly finished getting out room ready. It was a nice place to stay, good breakfast and accessible to sites along the coast.
My friend and I had a great experience staying with Rhonda. Her house was beautiful, clean and well kept. The rooms and space are true to what she is showing in her pictures. She was also very friendly and helpful with her recommendations. I highly recommend her house to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on the Big Island.
Thank you Rhonda for your hospitality and lovely baked goods. Hopefully we will meet again.
Rhonda was a gracious host and made us welcome immediately. Her home was a delight and the location gave a wonderful outlook over the coast.
It is perfectly situated south of Kona to allow exploration of the area and we wish that we had allowed more time there.
The house looks fabulous, and foods were shared with the owner which were very delicious
We had a wonderful 8 days and nights at Rhonda's home. You see all those windows and decks?...well, they all look out to the beautiful ocean and her swimming pool! The bed was very comfortable. We had access to the kitchen, dining rm, living rm and decks any time we wanted. We made our breakfast daily and occasionally dinner. Rhonda makes delicious Kona coffee every morning which she grows, and baked goods using ingredients from the area. One surprise was a delicious avocado "pie." - its a sweet dessert and really good! And she provides fresh fruits grown on her property. Rhonda's home is spotless. I didn't realize until we got there that we would be sharing the bathroom with guests of the other bedroom. However, it worked out just fine...The bathroom was cleaned daily, and fresh towels daily - sometimes twice! We didn't have any timing issues and Rhonda does have another bathroom in the house if you really, you know, can't wait! She provided us with snorkeling gear and beach towels. We liked the Capt. Cook area, to be away from so much tourism that is in Kailua-Kona. Rhonda directed us to a lovely county beach a quick 5 miles down the road for snorkeling where we saw spinner dolphins and turtles. Also there are some quite good albeit casual restaurants in the area - most are listed in the "blue book." You can't a better burger on earth than at Annie's, and the sweet potato salad is yummy. We were able to go to other parts of the island from Rhonda's either as a day trip (the Volcano, Hilo), or partial day trips.
Rhonda is a sweetheart and most accommodating, providing info on tourist sites and restaurants. There if you needed her, otherwise on another level of the house. Plus she accommodated our late arrival and departure.
There were 4 other couples and a single that had booked only 1 night - traveling around the island during their stay. I think most wished they had parked there for their entire trip. It was fun to meet other travelers at Rhonda's...from as far away as Germany and as close as a neighboring town to us...All were very friendly and considerate. You really can't go wrong here.
Rhonda is a gracious, friendly and welcoming hostess. She gives her guests the run of the main level of the house and spends most of her time in an apartment downstairs. Her house is beautiful, the bed in our guest room comfortable. (The bathroom was shared with the adjoining room.) Quiet and peaceful surroundings, yet a fairly short drive to Kailua Kona. It's also a little cooler than Kona. Walk out on the lanai/deck before the sun goes down (or in the morning as it comes up, for that matter)--the ocean is before you in the middle distance, with tropical trees in the foreground. Just stand and gaze.
If you are cat people, you'll enjoy meeting Norman, who has his very own (electronic) "aquarium" by his feeding station for his entertainment!
Rhonda, thank you for everything. You are a great host!
The house is wonderful. If we will win the lottery, we will buy a similar one :-)
Everything is perfect here... clean, good tips, travel books, awesome coffee and breakfast, beautiful overview to the sea.... WOW! If we will ever be around again, we will definitely stay here!

I have thoroughly enjoyed living on the island of Hawaii since 2002 and selected this destination after extensive traveling which included home exchanges in many countries.
To live everyday in total excitement and contentment with what the day has to offer became my mission.
Water quality and accessibility for swimming was at the top of my priority list.
I thank the Universe each and every day for allowing all of my life dreams, and more than I ever was able to imagine to come to fruition.
My passions are swimming, coffee farming, growing tropical fruits, vegetables, and flowers, as well as creating jams, jellies and liqueurs with the fruits of my little farm.
Operating a Guest House on my property became a dream that I am proud to see becoming a reality. I find it a total honor to live on this piece of paradise and feel totally compelled to share. What a great playground!!
I believe my success is based upon my guests enjoyment during their holiday. It is my desire to assist each of my guests in experiencing Hawaii in all its glory.
I welcome you to come share my most favored place in the whole wide world.
Today is the Best Day of the Rest of My Life. Come make it yours.
