*** FEATURED AS ONE OF THE TOP 25 BROOKLYN APARTMENTS ON AIRBNB'S "Best of Brooklyn" LIST! **
Come find out why there's a waiting list of friends who want our apartment if we ever move out - but why would we? It's got:
• Charm to spare: hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, original moldings and fireplaces and that greatest Big Apple rarity - SPACE! There's a big living/dining room, super cheerful kitchen, and beautiful bathroom. Plus, one of us a professional dancer so there's even a mirrored studio with yoga mats, small weights, and hula hoops! (It can also be used to host additional members of your party - we've got a full-sized air mattress.) Design is one of our passions, so every detail down to the lightbulbs has been lovingly considered. It feels open and fresh in the warm months and cozy and inviting in the cold ones, providing a tranquil contrast to the lively streets below.
Your room is a fresh, soothing space with a full-sized bed, organic linens and a tall window that lets in great light. It's got a separate entrance, so you don't have to worry about disturbing anyone when you come and go. Access to the rest of the apartment is a few steps down the hall, but we have the entire top floor, so you have privacy moving from your room to the rest of the apartment.
• Location: Just a four minute-walk from the G, ten from the A/C line, and 1-2 blocks from major bus lines, so it's easy to get around.
- 6mn subway to Williamsburg (+4mn walk)
- 13mn subway to TriBeCa (+10mn walk)

- 4mn subway to famous Brooklyn Flea
Market and beautiful Ft. Greene area with
gorgeous parks and fantastic bar/restaurant
scene (+4mn walk)
There are great little coffee shops and restaurants (and a little shop with the most surprisingly delicious vegan baked goods) popping up all around us and we're convinced that our neighbors (a wild mix of African-American, Caribbean, and hipster) are the friendliest in the entire city. Bed-Stuy is still repairing its reputation from the days when rappers Jay-Z and Notorious B.I.G. were growing up here, but it's come a long way and we've always felt safe and welcome.
• A natural-born hostess: I'm the girl who was always asked in school to show the new kids around. I love sharing - food, stories, experiences, suggestions - with people and take your well-being seriously. I'll give you as much privacy or guidance as you need to be happy and comfortable.
Some other goods: insanely fast internet connection, ample street parking, amazing homemade Jamaican food downstairs, a super charming little Siamese cat (she's hypoallergenic and a dynamite conversationalist). We don't have a TV, but we've got books and DVDs that you're welcome to enjoy. (we use our laptops for the latter.) Please let us know if you've got any questions!
*Note: Guest Bedroom is the smaller of the two rooms shown. The Master (with the cat on the bed), which includes an attached office, may be available at a higher rate. Just ask!
Jacqui's apartment is really stylish. It felt like being in a lovely shabby chic Paris apartment! The apartment is in an older building though so adjust your expectations.
The apartment is on the fourth floor and is accessed via a narrow flight of stairs. There is no lift. We only had one medium sized (25L) piece of luggage but any heavier would have been tough. Then again, lifting weights is good exercise :)
Both rooms face a major thoroughfare and the street noise can get quite intense, even with ear plugs. This was compounded by the roadworks being done during our stay.
We stayed in the small guest room which was only just big enough for us and our luggage. The main apartment is spacious though so we spread out over both areas.
The guestroom has a fan and heater but no air conditioning. Unfortunately this meant it was quite warm and stuffy during humid summer nights even with the window open (which let in more noise).
As noted by other travellers, the guestroom room is separate from the main apartment. Locking and unlocking doors (which creak loudly then slam shut) to get from one area to the next is a bit awkward. This which makes night time toilet visits inconvenient.
During our stay a nice family of four stayed in the main apartment. Six people sharing one bathroom is not ideal even where all parties are doing their best to keep the area clean. We also had different (but not unreasonable - we're a young couple visiting NYC on a weekend) sleeping times. We felt bad disturbing them when we had to enter the main apartment to use the bathroom, particularly as some of them were sleeping in the open space right outside the bathroom. People considering staying may therefore wish to check who your roommates are.
The location may look seedy but is actually quite safe. However, we didn't find much to do within walking distance.
Jacqui was out of town but communication and check in was, respectively, very quick and super smooth. Jacqui is a really nice person and did her best to make us feel as comfortable as possible.
Overall, our stay wasn't enjoyable but mostly because of factors outside of Jacqui's control.
I was living there for two month and I enjoyed every day. Jacqui is a great host and her cat is the cutest strange cat I ever met;-). I lived there with several others travellers from all over the world, so international guests make your stay more feeling like being in NY. You have everything you need in kitchen and bathroom and the livingroom is big enough for meeting with friends. And the most important thing: The neighborhood is really great, very open-minded and friendly and you have the best connections to manhattan. So, don't hesitate....you will enjoy the stay at Jacqui's apartment!!!
We were happy to stay at Jacqui's place. It is comfortable. The area is nice and cute, with lot of shops and coffee. It's a good ambiance!
Thanks again Jacqui and hope to see you next time.
The small bedroom was very small. The neighbourhood was okay, never had any problems walking around. Close to grocery locations and below the building is a corner store as well as laundry just down the street. Close to subway as well which is good, hiring a car service is easy and they arrive within a short period of time (usually 5-10 minutes). The cat that lives in the apartment isn't hypo allergenic we found but still very adorable.

Jacqui's place is tastefully decorated, and had all of the amenities that we needed for a four night stay. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, and there was plenty of room to spread out in the living area. We were surprised to find that the guest room is actually accessed from the outer breezeway, so, while it makes the room fairly private, it means navigating three doors and a hallway to get from the bed to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Also, the two bedrooms share a wall and a permanently closed door, so sounds travel pretty easily. Otherwise we were happy. The neighborhood is a touch on the seedy side, but really worth getting to know, and very accessible from multiple train lines. Good coffee shops and restaurants nearby. This space is a great value and a pleasant place to stay, and Jacqui was an attentive host. I recommend it.
The apartment is wonderful and the area is nice. There is an awesome breakfast place (Scratch Bread) only a block and a half away, a great Italian place in the neighbourhood, a grocery store with a big organic selection a few blocks away and also ATMs and Laundromats all over the place.
It's close to Prospect Park, Park Slope and Williamsburg, and also close to a direct line to Manhattan and the G-line, which made all the difference for me since I worked on Manhattan almost every day.
Taking a cab home from Manhattan if you've stayed out late (as one does in NY) or if you're just super tired after work, is totally affordable.
Zoe (the cat) is the BEST! So cozy and kind and pretty and intelligent.
Jacqui is so beautiful, a lot of fun and full of crazy stories.
Will definitly be back.
Jacqui is an amazing Host and Person. She was all the time helpful and friendly. We had nice experiences in her place. Her kitty Zoe is an awesome character, she needs a bit attention because she is old and she need her hugs. Zoe is a super cool pet and a nice flatmate. Everything was good. We had a lot of space for our food and the neighborhood was nice too, is not williamsburg but it was quite nice.
So thank you Jaquci, you are a great host. AENNI + PATZE
Jacqui was the perfect host and I would recommend her place to anyone considering to come to NYC. I stayed a month and she did her best to make me feel home. The apartment is well located in Brooklyn, G and A lines nearby. Cafés, supermarket, gym and laundromat few blocks away. The neighborhood is lively and I never got into troubles even getting back late at night.
I would come back with pleasure!
Jacqui was a great host -- easy to coordinate with, flexible, and easy-going. The place is easy to get to and right down the street from some great cafes and interesting neighborhoods. Highly recommended.
