Interaction with Guests
Guests have their own private apartment. I welcome guests at check-in & show them around the apartment, explaining where to find things & how they work. If guests would like, I also make visit suggestions based on their interests. I am available by phone & email throughout their stay to answer any questions.
After the check-in welcome, I base interactions on guest preference: some guests enjoy more interaction, while others are more independent. My goal as a host is for guests to feel welcome & that they have a comfortable home-away-from-home during their stay in Seattle.
The apartment is located in one of Seattle's wonderful walkable, bike-able, & bus-able neighborhoods. Situated in a quiet, safe, & beautiful residential neighborhood, a short walk will bring guests to two excellent markets, bus routes to Downtown & all areas of Seattle, & the Burke-Gilman walking & riding trail. Abundant shopping & restaurant options are a short & easy drive to U Village & other local neighborhood businesses, including Ventoux Roasters, a great neighborhood coffee spot; Queen Mary Tea Room for those who love tea & cucumber sandwiches; Frank's Oyster House & Champagne Parlor for those who enjoy fine culinary pleasures; & Mioposto, a wonderful wood fired pizzeria--all 2 minutes by car or around 10 by foot.
I-5 is 7 minutes away, with exits to Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, & Downtown 1, 2, & 3 exits away.
There are bus stops at either end of our street with routes to Downtown & all areas of Seattle.
If you like to bike ride, the Burke-Gilman wends through the University, Fremont, & Ballard neighborhoods. If you prefer walking, it is a beautiful sheltered trail through mostly wooded & residential areas.
Other Things to Note
For guests with allergies or chemical sensitivities, the apartment is cleaned, & the laundry is washed, with natural cleaning solutions that are free & clear of fragrances & dyes. I also provide natural soap & shampoo that are scented with natural oils.
We love our home, so please treat it with respect. For safety and health reasons, we do not allow smoking or candles in the apartment.
Stop for a second before moving onto looking at another place to stay. I wholeheartedly hope that you consider staying at this wonderful apartment!
The apartment was exactly as described as in the listing. The neighborhood itself was a calm and soothingly quiet. Motion-detecting lights are placed outside to light the pathway to the apartment during the dark of night.
I've given myself some time to think about my recent visit and would have to say that this place was absolutely phenomenal. Kerry was very welcoming, making sure to go over every single detail possible. Might I add that Kerry has impeccable attention to detail? It allowed my stay to be worry free and very comfortable. Everything was mapped out in a handy guide, with Kerry walking us through the entire place the moment we arrived. This became a "home away from home."
Kerry was an extremely warm and flexible host. She accommodated for a late arrival on the first night and the apartment was in perfect condition with all the necessary amenities and more.
Kerry's place was absolutely amazing to stay at. With this being my first time using airbnb, Kerry went above and beyond to make my boyfriend and I feel comfortable. She even let us stay a little longer after checkout, with no complaints. We would definitely love to stay here again! Thank You for hosting us!
Wow! What a great place. Very clean. Nicely decorated. Fireplace. Couldn't ask for more. This is a bargain.
Kerry was a very welcoming and accommodating host; the informational notebook was fantastic. The apartment was spacious and is in a very quiet, walkable neighborhood where we always felt safe. We arrived very late at night and found that automatic lights illuminated our way to the apartment. The entire apartment was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fireplace in the bedroom. We made use of the full, well-stocked kitchen. Great shower. We regularly visit relatives in Seattle and would love to stay with Kerry again if the apartment is available. After about a day we were referring to it as "home."
We had a lovely time. Kerry is a great hostess, very experienced. I feel like she thought of everything. The basement apartment is clean, spacious, and comfortable. We loved the gas fireplace in the bedroom - it's on a thermostat so we didn't get too hot or cold. The place was quiet and our bed was comfy and warm - we slept great.
I set up this visit as a place for my in-laws to stay while visiting us, so I didn't actually stay here myself. Kerry was fine with that slightly odd arrangement. She was also quite understanding when we got stuck in traffic. The place was welcoming and spacious. There was a binder full of information available. My in-laws loved walking up the street to PCC for a hot brunch buffet on Sunday morning and picking up food for other snacks.
I enjoy writing, making art, gardening & cooking. I am able to walk or ride my bike for most local outings because our home is right next to the Burke-Gilman bike trail.
