International house(Casa Blanca) ,( Posada, Hostel) with a wave of Hispanic colors with plans to keep making the house welcoming, inviting and sustainable...
We have kayaks, bicycles and fishing poles for use....
Space to camp ^
We have a colorful space that I would say is Mexican themed since my wife is from Mexico and we have spent a lot of time there. We also have plans to it more international and sustainable. My hope is each guest will help make the house more green and sustainable, so if you have any experience with that we would love the assistance. Also we open to you adding your creative talents to our house in whatever way possible; adding your personal touch. We have had previous guests draw, paint, murals, build shelves, raised beds, plant fruit trees, help build the compost and the list goes on......
Access to all common areas and fully prepared kitchen, where you can wow us with your cooking skills. We are always up for trying new food!!! :) It is not uncommon for community dinners at our place.

Interaction with Guests
My wife and I are both in our late 20's & early 30's and two years ago we traveled through central and south America. We enjoy meeting people from other places and we plan to interact with our guests as much as they would like.
Our house is 4 blocks away from Tampa Bay and Lassing Park which has a nice little beach. Plus when the tide goes out you can walk a fair distance into the water.
Our neighborhood is very artsy and eccentric. It was just designated an artist enclave. A lot of our neighbors have chickens and gardens and each house is very unique.
Close to Dali Museum, University of South Florida- St. Petersburg, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Downtown St. Petersburg
There is a bus stop on 4th street & 19th ave and this is about 1 block from my house. This route can take you all over the county or connect you with other routes and it this is route 4.
Greyhound bus station downtown St. Petersburg, 5 min. from the house
Clearwater & Tampa International Airport about 20min. from my house
At this time we do not allow pets inside the house
Guests are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and we would encourage you to follow the rule of leaving things better then you found them.
Shoes off in the house
We take pride in recycling and composting.
Chris was very welcoming and extremely helpful. We loved the bicycles and toured St Petersburg. Great neighbourhood with nearby beach for evening walks.
I felt very welcomed by Chris and his wife. Gary, his guest at the time (maybe still is), was also a super nice guy. It has been a while since I read the description of the place, and I also cannot for some reason access it again, so I cannot completely say how it fits the description except for this: It was clean and quiet. There were certainly people from all over the place their so the atmosphere was interesting too and one shouldn't be lonely there. Gary is a bright and super-friendly person and very accomodating. Bikes are availabe to use and that is great. The very lovely bay is a ten minute walk from the house through a lovely neighborhood. From what I was told, you don't want to stray in the opposite direction as the neighborhood gets pretty rough and some crimes have been reported. However, I did feel safe in his house. The rooms are very basic and there was no chair although the bed was comfortable enough. The picture they have listed is of one of two houses that the property has - I stayed in the second which did not have that nice living room. However, the other place was still accessible. All in all, it was a positive experience.
John, I am glad you enjoyed your short visit to our house. We wish you the best of luck in looking for a place to live. Also I am glad you enjoyed our neighborhood, it is very historic and now has new artist enclave designation which means my neighbors can now open small businesses and studios to sell art and offer classes. I cant wait to take different art classes from my neighbors.
I have no words to say how I was fine by Chris! Nice people, clean house and many friends! Chris and Blanca, they were very helpful with me and we also spent a lot of time together .I found my reference point when I return to St Petersburg.
Chris, my host, is great and very accommodating. The neighborhood is safe and very close to downtown. The accommodations were as advertised. Very similar to a hostel with multiple people sharing the kitchen, bathrooms and common areas. I enjoyed it as there was a person from Cape Verde, Ecuador, Columbia, Miami and myself from Knoxville. You can be by yourself or you can join in group activities. I enjoyed my stay.
Thank you for your great hospitality! We felt very comfortable at your place and we slept good, too. Your house is not typical American, and we liked that! Bright rooms, the possibility to look outside, not so cold a.s.o
Your bbq party was awesome, we met several guests. They all are nice and uncomplicated with our deafness and wrote many to paper for us. Thank you! It was great that you played with my son.
Iris we enjoyed getting to know you very much!!! It was a real adventure having you and your son, but we loved every minute of it. We wish you the best on your journey and know you always have a place to stay in St. Petersburg. When we are headed to Germany we will look you up. Safe travels and buenas suerte
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was my first airbnb experience and it was fantastic! The room was perfect for my needs and the hosts were super friendly. The area was safe, clean and easy to jump on the interstate if you need to visit tampa. I would not hesitate to stay here again, or send my friends to Chris.
