My wife and I are both in our late 20's & early 30's and two years ago we traveled through central and south America. We enjoy meeting people from other places and we plan to interact with our guests as much as they would like.
Our house is 4 blocks away from Tampa Bay and Lassing Park which has a nice little beach. Plus when the tide goes out you can walk a fair distance into the water.
Our neighborhood is very artsy and eccentric. A lot of our neighbors have chickens and gardens and each house is very unique.
Close to Dali Museum, University of South Florida- St. Petersburg, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Downtown St. Petersburg
There is a bus stop on 4th street & 19th ave and this is about 1 block from my house. This route can take you all over the county or connect you with other routes and it this is route 4.
Greyhound bus station downtown St. Petersburg, 5 min. from the house
Clearwater & Tampa International Airport about 20min. from my house
I stayed a month with Chris and Blanca and had a wonderful time. They are a warm and welcoming couple and the simple accommodations felt just right to me. We even had agrand St. Patrick's Day party, with hostel guests and their friends. If I'm able, I'll return next year. Thanks for everything, Chris and Blanca!!
We stayed with Chris and Blanca at Casa-Embajada Hostel. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. Whether it be guiding us to the best beaches or restaurants or discussing food or travel we could count on them for direction or just to share some conversation as our paths crossed. We stayed for four days, leaving on the fifth morning. The neighborhood is historic and great to walk through. Many beautiful trees and flowering plants line the cobblestone streets. We met people on our walks that were quite friendly and pointed out things to see when we asked. We were there in early March and the weather was great. Warm during the day and cool at night. Our room was comfortable, private and right next to a very bright and modern bath. We also enjoyed talking to and sharing with the other guests. A wonderful trip to St. Pete and we highly recommend staying with Chris and Blanca!
It was a pleasure to meet Chris and Blanca, a really nice couple who even took us out on the town the first night. they were very warm and welcoming. we stayed at a part of the house that is still a real work in progress. maybe you should check before arrival because i think the other rooms are really nice. still we had a great stay overall!
Petra & Andy, it was a pleasure to meet you guys as well. We wish you the best on your journey and we appreciate all of your advice on improving our residence for future guests. Maybe the next time you come we will be a net zero home. Thank you for all of your support and we hope someday to visit you as well. Gracias por todo!!
Chris was such a wonderful host! I arrived slightly earlier than planned, but Chris was very accommodating and easy-going about the having me there. Actually, he was incredibly easy-going and accommodating during my whole visit. When I had moments to chat and learn about him, his wife, and his other guests he was available; when I was off exploring on my own he was helpful with suggestions; when I was up for hanging out he, his friend, and I went for burritos and a local beer. I had never been to St. Pete's, but the whole surrounding area really lends itself to as much relaxing, outside adventures, or nightlife as your heart desires. Great company, great location, great experience – thanks Chris!
Chris was a fabulous host. We changed our plans repeatedly and then called at 10pm to see if he still had space for us. He greeted us with a smile and the place was perfect for our needs. His description is very accurate and you can tell he is putting alot of hard work in to the place. The price is the best you will find in st pete. It is walking/biking distance to downtown. Chris is super responsive if you have questions so don't hesitate to contact him! We hope to stay here again next time we are in town!
I had a great stay at Casa International. Chris is extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and the place is very comfortable and affordable.
At least when I was there, the place was a work in progress. But if you can work with that and you need affordable accommodation in St. Pete, this is it.
Got to hang w/ Chris for dinner...he's a pleasant and nice guy. We shared stories over sangrias and tacos. As his listing and reviews states, his house is a working progress, but his demeanor and price value more than make up for it. In no time, his place will shack interesting travelers like himself, a true AirBnB place to be.
The location was fantastic. Parking was not an issue at all. The residence has recently undergone a lot of renovation - new flooring, sinks, paint, etc. The home is really coming together, and I'm sure Chris, the owner, is quite proud of his (and his contractors') efforts, as Chris should be. Chris is a very sincere person, intelligent, and kind. He is eager to meet new people and was extremely welcoming. I felt very welcome and think i have made a new friend that will last beyond my brief stay at his home. I certainly recommend this listing to others. The only downside…as of the writing of this review, there is no wireless nor tv. Also, the bed is on the softer side…not the best feature for those with ailing backs.
Overall, i had a great experience and invite others to spend some time at this location. The host, Chris, is a real good guy.
