Lives in Paia, Hawaii
Quality not quantity rules. Gluttony in any of it's forms tends to repel me. I'm a fairly quiet guest and tend to live lightly. I tend to be experiential vs materialistic. I am a CIA NY trained cook, and a NCBTMB certified massage therapist & hold degrees in Economics and Psych. I have a Wabisabi sense of design & aesthetics (finding beauty in imperfection...natural patinas, etc.). I am probably an excellent candidate for Buddhism (except for my love of well made wine). I'm mostly vegan but I eat pretty much anything on occasion. If Aunt Jean prepares a beef roast for dinner then that's what I eat. The vegan diet works best for me, but is not a rigid philosophy. I practice yoga daily, which keeps me lean and fit...currently hot yoga. I like the company of animals and most seem to have a quick affinity for me. I Love international travel, especially to places that do not have a McDonald's and Starbucks on alternate corners. I like warm places near water, but also like adventure travel in underdeveloped countries. You won't find me at the Hilton in the tourist zone. I like to immerse myself in the culture and place I find myself. I'm the guy in the tuktuk on a backroad in Southeast Asia, not the one in the air-conditioned taxi or tourist bus. I diligently try to learn foreign languages for travel destinations, but it is admittedly very difficult for me. I have never been on a cruise ship, not that there's anything wrong with that. It's because I figure that type of travel can occur easily when I'm old w/ bad knees or even in a wheel chair. But you can't hike around Machu Picchu or Tibet in that condition... Strategic priorities. Carpe diem;-)
