About This Listing
Charming, sunny backyard garden cottage located halfway between Cooper Young and Overton Square. Queen bed, kitchenette with small appliances including refrigerator, microwave, tabletop oven, and Keurig. Quiet and private. Street parking. Sleeps two.
The cottage is a converted garage located in the backyard of the main house, which was built in 1905. The yard is fully fenced in and the garden is beautiful when in bloom.
Guests will have private access to the cottage, which is fully separate from the main house. The garden is free for you and your pets to enjoy.
Midtown is the best part of Memphis! Otherlands Coffee Shop is just across the street and Easy Way produce market is a block away.
There is a MATA bus stop at the corner which is serviced by routes 2 (which goes from the North End Terminal downtown to the airport) and 5 (North End Terminal to University of Memphis).
Other Things to Note
For weekends during May we require at least a two night stay.
The cottage was cute and very comfortable, and the surrounding garden was beautiful! In a great location as well.
My wife and I didn't get the chance to meet Martha, Glenn, and Vanessa, but Martha was very quick to respond to emails and answer questions. We'll definitely be interested in staying there again the next time we're in Memphis! Recommended!
We stayed for 4 nights and couldn't stop saying how much we loved it. It was clean and cozy. We knew we wanted to have a private bathroom and kitchenette and this had what we were looking for. Only ran into owners once but they kept communication open via email. The location was top notch if you like boutiques, independent restaurants and museums. Would stay again without blinking an eye and would definitely recommend to others! We are picky about the AirBnB's that we book and this was our absolute favorite so far!
Our hosts provided everything that my husband and I would need. The cottage was well equipped and sits in a beautiful garden of wild flowers. It is also in a great location as we were virtually five or ten minutes away from eating places, supermarkets, etc. We had the pleasure of meeting one of our hosts, Martha, on just one occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Garden Cottage and would love to do so again, the next time we are in Memphis.
We only stayed one night at the adorable Midtown garden cottage, but it was a great spot to rest our heads. The cottage had everything we needed for the night, good location (we drove but seemed like there were plenty of nearby buses to the city center), and right across the street from a funky, delicious coffee shop.
We had a wonderful weekend stay at this clean, sunny cottage! Lots of windows and light with a beautiful effect when the trees blew in the wind in late afternoon. This is a unique space with high ceilings and bright colors. It is private from the main house, roomy yet cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower large. There was a table for our laptop and eating and a wardrobe to hang clothes. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee and brought our own food, etc. for meals; all the dishware and accessories were provided. Our dog Izzy loved the fenced in yard and had lots of places to explore, including a dog park just a few miles away and the neighborhood where we took a few walks. I had a chance to meet Vanessa and her two dogs but otherwise we were very much on our own.
Great little cottage in a funky neighborhood. Beautiful garden surrounds it. They had everything we could possibly need and a great binder of suggestions.
We loved our stay in midtown cottage. The cottage is in a great location and is very well kept. The garden around the cottage is beautiful, especially with the azaleas in bloom. Martha was always quick to respond to any message and was easy to coordinate with for check-in/check-out.
