Large, airy room with ensuite bathroom
This is a large, sunny room with its own spacious bathroom , looking out over private gardens. We are in a Georgian house in a secluded corner of St Leonards' bohemian quarter . It is really peaceful here with private communal gardens in front of this row of beautiful Georgian villas. We have our own large garden with studios at the back. We are just 5 minutes walk from the sea and a 30 minute walk along the seafront to the historic old town with its unique fishing fleet on the beach. We are 10 mins from the train station taking you directly to London and fashionable Brighton. The room is large and airy with a comfortable double bed with cotton sheets and its own en suite bathroom. It looks out onto the lovely communal garden. We can accommodate a carry cot or put up an extra single bed for a child. We are on a private road so it is very peaceful and quiet. Parking is available.
A couple of minutes walk away is an excellent restaurant, St Clements, serving locally sourced food, though you may need to book at weekends. Next to it is The Horse and Groom , the oldest and best pub in St Leonards. Also nearby on Norman Road and the seafront are lots of lovely cafes which sell good food, and there are some fun vintage and second-hand clothes shops as well as antique shops and galleries. In the Old Town is the recently opened Jerwood gallery . Hastings is an eccentric town that likes any excuse to celebrate so there is usually a festival or event of some kind going on such as the Seafood and Wine Festival and the Coastal Currents Art Festival both in September, the Green Man festival in May and Old Town week in August..
A great place to visit nearby is the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill which has high profile art exhibitions .There is also easy access to the gorgeous Hastings country park by taking the Victorian funicular lift from the Old Town.
A perfect get-away from the city!
We have wi-fi and limited parking. A simple breakfast of tea/coffee toast and cereal is available on request and is included.
We have a piano if anyone feels the urge to play.

No smoking in the house please.
The hosts were absolutely lovely! Made us feel very warm and welcome. We found the house a bit untidy. Also, we had a five month old baby and didn't feel it was a quiet enough place for his naps and bedtime. Overall lovely hosts, good location, scrumptious breakfast and would recommend.
Adrienne and Nick are very kind hosts who makes sure that you feel comfortable in their home. The room is spacious and elegant with an bathroom of your own, which is really comfi. Their house is idealy located next to an park and the seaside. The area is upcoming with a lot of nice arty shops and cafes. Also is close by the center of Hastings. I could really recommend enjoying a lunch or diner at St Clements if you're around! Also Rye is a beautiful little town with a great cinema/art center (Kino).
A wonderful warm & friendly welcome by Adrienne and Nick in their beautiful family home for myself and my little boy Arthur (3 years).
The house is in a beautiful setting looking out onto 'The Lawn' a private garden for the residents. Inside the walls are filled with art and photography, making the walk to and from our room always interesting.
Lovely breakfast in the kitchen, with a fire warming us was something to look forward to at the start of our days. We particularly enjoyed Adrienne's homemade marmalade and quince jelly!
Arthur loved it so much he cried when we were leaving, and I felt like I had made two new friends...
We had a really lovely weekend in Hastings. Adrienne and Nick (and their cat) were warm, helpful and interesting hosts who made us feel welcome straight away. Their house is beautiful and homely and our room was large and comfortable. The house is located in St Leonards - about 30mins walk away from Hastings, or 5mins by train. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay with Adrienne and Nick. They were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. Their house is really beautiful and the bedroom and en-suite much larger than we were expecting! A great location too - just set back from the sea and with some lovely cafes around. We also really enjoyed the amenities in Hastings Old Town and had some great meals and coffees there. The only problem was the wind which made the 20min walk there rather chilly! We had a really relaxing stay and went back to London feeling refreshed. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely introduction to AirB&B with Adrienne and Nick. Considering we didn't give them much notice before staying with them they were very accommodating and the communication was good before we even arrived. Arriving late on Friday evening and rudely interrupting their film Adrienne showed us to our large, clean and tidy room & bathroom and then gave directions to a good local restaurant. Breakfast was a highlight sat around the table in their brilliantly laid back kitchen - croissants, coffee and a local insight into the area.
All in all Adrienne and Nick are lovely hosts and I'm looking forward to our next adventure with AirB&B :)
Adrienne and Nick were wonderful hosts - we got to have a lovely chat over tea with them on our first night, and saw them sporadically throughout our weekend. They were welcoming and helpful, giving us little recommendations for wandering around Hastings. The house is through a gate on an ivy covered wall (easy to miss in the dark!) and a big Victorian with lots of character. The room and bathroom were lovely - large and comfortable and filled with charm. Adrienne and Nick's art is all over the house which is great (the following weekend Nick has an art opening which we are sorry to miss!). The house is less than 5 minutes to the beach, and 20-30 minute amble along the coast gets you to Old Town Hastings. The whole experience was cozy and relaxed and ideal for our weekend away. Thanks Adrienne and Nick!

I work in education as an efl teacher. I am also an artist as is my husband. I enjoy cooking, gardening and swimming and have 3 children aged 15, 21 and 24. We enjoy being outdoors and our favourite thing is to go to our beach hut and swim in the sea . We love good food, music, art and films- all the good things in life!
