Comfortable bed and delicious traditional breakfast.

The Space

Top floor of detached house with garden. Traditional Turkish breakfast included. A large sun terrace with panoramic views of tangerine groves, Sigacik village, and sea is for guests' exclusive use. Main room includes kingsize bed, armchair, wall unit with various ornaments, air conditioning. Smaller room includes a single bed and door to sun-terrace with outdoor furniture and a large seating area which can double as a kingsize bed with flynet for hot summer nights! A showeroom/toilet on floor below for guests only. Wireless 8m/bit high speed internet is always on but does not reach the top floor. Various fruit trees in garden, flowers and seating areas for al fresco dining. The surrounding area is filled with natural edible herbs for picking all year round. Tangerines can be picked between October and January from the groves in front of the house. Parking available in garden. Bicycles available for free. We are situated 200m from sea and 500m from castle (with a Sunday market selling local produce and hand-made souvenirs) and picturesque fishing village restaurants and shops. Modern marina is close by for hiring yachts or up market dining. Fantastic secluded beaches are minutes away. Boat trips to other bays available from local fining harbour. Ancient ruins of Teos worth a visit on the way to a beach. As hosts we offer a free tour of the village and places to eat or shop. We offer transit from and to airport, and excursions to various beaches or places of interest all for a small additional fee. Sigacik is a beautiful quiet village with city of Izmir 50 km away. Nearby Seferihisar offers frequent buses to Ephesus or Kusadasi.

Guest Access

The top floor is exclusively for guests during their stay. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the balcony or garden anything they wish where wi-fi is accessible. We may even have an aperitif together in the kitchen while our Sunsets and Tangerines soundtrack plays in the background. Guests can feel free to sit in the front room for internet access too.

Interaction with Guests

We are always happy to interact with guests but remain aware they may want privacy whilst eating or reading, for example.

The Neighborhood

The neighbourhood is very quiet. Other houses are almost forgotten behind our house while we enjoy the lush green view of the tangerine orchards in front of the house. If you love animals, the neighbours' dogs will melt your heart.

Getting around

Getting around is easy from either the bus stop the taxi rank a few hundred yards away. Or we have bikes guests can use to go to a beach or the village for shopping or coffee.

Other Things to Note

The town is ideal whether you want to hide under the vine in a cafe and read a book or (email hidden) to watch a match or mingle.

  • The perfect B and B. Having not stayed in any sort of B and B before I really didn't know what to expect. This place blew away any sort of expectations I may have thought I had. Before I had got anywhere near Turkey, I already felt welcomed by Umit's detailed advice on travel and whether it was a safe place for me to visit on my own (which it certainly was). The house itself is very clean, comfortable and homely and also has a really nice relaxing, spacious feel to it. The gorgeous guest rooms, and amazing terrace are at the top of the house, so if you are looking to relax and have space it's easy to feel very private. The guest bathroom is very spacious, clean and nice. I really enjoyed the turkish breakfast (at what ever time I wanted it) every morning on their terrace over looking the tangerine orchards- in fact I still miss starting my day like that! Both Umit and Alison are dream hosts- very down to earth and totally welcoming - always on hand to offer advice about the local area and generally great people to have a good old chat and a beer with (if that's what you're like). I would absolutely recommend this place as worth a visit either on your way through or even for a weeks break as I did. The village and it's surrounding area was just perfect for a relaxing holiday, with many beach options a short cycle/ walk away. I found each and every local person to be amazingly friendly and helpful.

  • Location: nice, in a quiet residential area near the little town Sigacik and the sea.
Room: nice room, large and perfectly cleaned at the top floor of the house where the family lives. Great terrace with a nice view. Large bathroom with all you need.
Staff: Umit, Aniston and their son Alex are really nice. They help you in everything, giving advice and talking about everything. You feel like at home!
Breakfast: traditional turkish. Rich and tasteful.
    Quality/Price: Excellent.

    Hope to see you again!

  • We had a great time at Sunsets & Tangerines. Umit and Alison are fantastic hosts and were very helpful and accommodating during our stay. The room is large and comfortable and has its own balcony, which allowed us the magical experience of sleeping out under the stars. We enjoyed visiting local beaches and restaurants, windsurfing, and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere of Izmir province. We highly recommend it.

  • So much more than a stunning view of sunsets and a tangerine orchard! From the minute we arrived we felt at home with the kind and affable Umit and Alison. They gave travel advice, shared many laughs with us but also gave us our privacy. Umit's Turkish skills came in very handy o n a number of occasions. When we left after only 4 days, we felt like we were leaving home and good friends behind. Highly recommended. Mike, Jo, David and Janet.

  • Umit & Alison were very welcoming and provided lots of tips about local beaches to visit, as well as recommendations for restaurants. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic! It was a very peaceful place to stay and we enjoyed looking out from the balcony at the views, especially the stars at night. We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it.

Umit and her wonderful wife Alison are really great hosts! I just can repeat what the other guests have written here- it´s true :) I will recommend staying in this lovely apartment for all my friends.
Hope to see Umit and Alison again one time!

  • Sunsets & Tangerines, Wonderful Hosts & Delightful Breakfasts could be added to the title of this wonderful b&b! :)
Umit, Allison and Alexander are genuinely kind and wonderful people,; a wonderful family! Their thoughtfulness impressed us tremendously; we started missing them shortly after our departure. :)
The town is quaint and rural. It gave us the experience of true relaxation. After being Istanbul for several days, it was a relief to be able to escape and soak the tranquility and sunshine.
The beaches are modest, with little cafes and shops along the coast. The evenings light up with an array of restaurants and ice cream shops.
    We'd recommend this place!

  • The 3 of us loved our stay with this wonderfully welcoming, friendly and hospitable family, who went out of their way to make us comfortable. The rooms and bathroom were spotless and tastefully decorated, and the breakfasts and evening barbecues were fantastic. We enjoyed roaming around Sigacik and the surrounding area, which is quite rural and laid back and has more to offer than your average tourist resort, especially for those who like history and seeing how the locals live. The castle and the atmospheric ruins of Teos with their ancient olive groves are worth several explorations. We only regret that we had too little time to spend at the Sunday market, which was very picturesque and had some lovely things for sale. I would enthusiastically recommend this B&B to travellers who enjoy going off the beaten track a bit, but still having all the comforts of home. Oh, and the kitten will melt your heart :)

  • We had a wonderful stay at Sunsets & Tangerines! Hidden gem: big terrace connected with a room, with hand made wooden bed, for which you can swap equally lovely room. Highly recommended to do so: falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sunrise - priceless experience! Umit and his wife were adorable hosts, giving us a lot advices where to go in the area. Breakfast was simply delicious and if you're a cat lover: they have the cutest cat ever :) If you have a chance make sure to stay at this lovely place!

  • I had forgotten of writing this review right after the end of the vacation, which was last summer. I have finally remembered to do it, because last couple of days the great memories of our 2 days in Sigacik came back to my mind. This wonderful experience was made possible thanks to Umit and Alison, who have been lovely hosts and throughout our stay have always given us great suggestions and the best comforts. I would greatly recommend to choose Sunsets & Tangerines by the sea for a relaxing holiday to be spent in great company. I am sure that you will not regret this choice.

Husband to a beautiful wife, father to a handsome son...... Lived and worked in London for most of my life and decided to leave the rat-race and get a life! The first house we saw we bought! So far, we are all loving it! Keen on swimming and snorkelling. Like a drink now and then. Don't get to barbecue often enough! Favourite pastime is probably cooking at home whilst enjoying a drink with my wife whilst music is playing out loud.....but there's also being able to cycle to the local beach, have a beer while drying off and cycle back home.....and then there's jumping in the car and having a barbecue by the sea after a swim.....and then.......!
