New COVID19 update limits entry into Maine to New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York without having to complete a compliance certificate. All guests coming from outside these states will have to sign a compliance certificate stating one of the following:

• that you received a negative COVID19 test no later than 72 hours prior to arrival in Maine,
• that you will quarantine in place,
• or that you already completed your 14 day quarantine in Maine.

Regrets,
Mark

The space
This is one of 2 cottages situated among evergreens just 100 feet from the shore. Enjoy cooking fresh Maine lobster and blueberry pie in a full kitchen, or grill in the open air on a gas grill. Experience the sun setting over the pond while listening to loons call. The cottages are 7/10s of a mile from Route 1, and 28 miles from Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park.

Rocky Haven is the perfect home away from home while you discover the wonders of coastal Maine. It is a 4 season home with all the amenities (washer & Dryer, Dish washer, furnace and air conditioner).

The living room is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of adventure in Acadia or kayaking right on the pond, while you watch your favorite program on a 55" 4K flat screen with Sling TV. Listening to the loon calls from the dock or from the 400 square foot deck gives a sense of tranquility any time of day; especially while watching the sun set over the pond. For chilly evenings, a furnace warms the entire home up using radiant floor heat. It is really comfy on the feet. Rest comfortably on a king sized bed in the lake view loft master bedroom. There are double/twin bunkbeds in the other two bedrooms. There are two full bathrooms.

Water comes from a drilled well, so reliance on lake water is unnecessary. The water is filtered at the kitchen sink for extra healthy drinking. Most of the interior furnishings are less than 2 years old.

Guests for our two cottages have shared private access to the lake as well as to kayaks. Because of the cold season here in Maine, the dock goes in the lake the 1st week of May and is removed the 1st week of November.

While Rocky Haven is a home away from home, the other cottage, Cozy Haven, is a great summer cottage from which you can discover the wonders of coastal Maine.

No pets are allowed on our properties due to family members with severe asthma issues; sorry!

Guest access
The entire Chalet is rented to one guest’s party and is not shared. The dock is a shared space. However, each cottage has their own kayaks and canoe. The dock goes in the first week in May and comes out of the water by the first week in November. Parking is available for each cabin

Other things to note
They share a dock with Toddy Haven. We recommend that guests use water shoes while wading in the lake.

Our property is situated at nearly the end of the road between two other private camps that can be seen through the woods just 7/10s of a mile off of Route 1a heading to Bar Harbor. There is plenty of space between our property and the neighbors. We have 242 feet of Lake frontage.

Mark is an entrepreneur, professor, minister, husband, and proud father. After living overseas for 14 years in Ecuador, we returned to our home state of Maine. Mark likes to sail, fish, play racket ball and is on a billiards team. Laurie is a musician, writer, wife and devoted mother. She likes to read, hike, garden and cook. We enjoy going out to new restaurants, sight seeing, traveling, going to movies and concerts together. Our favorite destinations to date have been Mexico and Italy, and we look forward to visiting the British Isles one day. We have been married for almost 39 years and have 4 children who have all flown the coop but come around every so often with our four grandchildren; all to our great delight!
