About this listing
My lovely 1850s cottage is just 7 minutes’ walk from the nearest train station, with direct links to Edinburgh, Dundee, Leuchars (for St Andrews) Perth, & Aberdeen among others. You will find yourself in a village conservation area. My cottage comes complete with log-burning stoves in the kitchen and living room, and you will also have full access to the kitchen, TV, Wifi &, washing machine. Plenty free parking.
For some truly original Scottish scenes, I’m a kipper’s throw from the beautiful East Neuk fishing villages (30 minutes drive / on the bus route). Make a day of it by visiting the world-famous St Andrews (the home of golf, but don’t worry; there’s a golf course just a 10 minute walk from the cottage!) I’m also just 10 minutes from the unique Falkland Palace, the 14th Century hunting palace of our Scottish Kings and Queens. Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for many years in a castle on nearby Loch Leven... what a fantastic visit!
I look forward to welcoming you to my lovely home in central Fife.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare meals. It's a shared bathroom / shower-room.
Interaction with Guests
I am quite informal with guests, so am likely to join you at breakfast.
I will be there to welcome you, but you will get a key so you can come & go as you wish.
There are very good public transport links, as the train station (a few minutes' walk away) is a travel hub.
Definitely no smoking indoors. Apart from that, I'm fairly relaxed. Any questions, please call me.
Lorna is really a great hostess. She welcomed us very warmly and we were immediately offered a cup of tea. She showed a lot of interest in our trip and what we planned to do and we thereby also received very useful tips. Our stay at Lorna's little house was super. I would recommend anyone to spend a few nights in her cute little house.
Perfetta accoglienza, il posto niente male comodo per andare a Edimburgo ed essere fuori dal caos
A wonderful stay at the gorgeous red cottage! Lovely welcoming host and such a comfortable bed! I highly recommend a visit!
Lorna was the perfect host making us feel very welcome. The house is in a very quiet area and there are a couple of decent restaurants within walking distance and a Chinese takeaway within throwing distance. There is lots of free parking around. The room was as described with two comfy single beds. Every morning Lorna made traditional Scottish breakfast of Porridge, toast, coffee and juice along with a few pieces of fruit and some friendly chat. I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and the lovely host, Lorna. Thank You Lorna for a great stay!
We only stay for one Night in this beautifull house. Lorna was very nice and friendly and a respectful host. She gave us very good information for the area and for our trip through scotland. Thanks Lorna for the best banana loaf. We would definitely come back.
All the best
Mona and Bernd
