We were a party of 5 adults, including two over age 70, and we really enjoyed our stay at Roger's flat. It was comfortable and had all the amenities we expected. We were worried about the stairs, as it was a basement flat, but these were perfectly manageable for my elderly parents. It was also a very sunny basement! The C-train University station is about 10 minutes' walk and local supermarket complex about 15 minutes' walk. We had a wonderful lunch at the Kilkenny pub at the complex, which we would recommend. Roger was a wonderful and generous host, who went beyond the call of duty. He drove us to the mountains (Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise) and gave us a personal tour. He introduced us to the Grizzly Paws pub in Canmore, which was great for food, and we tasted some great beers. When we left, the taxi we had called for was too small to accommodate all of us and our luggage, and Roger took the rest of us to the airport as well, so that we would not miss our flight. I would recommend Roger's place highly, and thank you Roger, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our Calgary holiday such a memorable experience!
Nette kamers met voldoende handdoeken en beddengoed. Ook erg veel eten in de voorraadkast en koelkast aanwezig. Er stonden twee mountainbikes in de tuin die we mochten gebruiken. Erg handig!
It was very nice to stay in this apartment. Rodger is more than friendly. He even bought groceries for us. He also gives us advices where to go to. It is a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed it very much. Perfect for persons who want to visit the Olympic Oval. It is only a 10 minutes walk.
A Wonderful Experience! Roger's place is perfect, great amount of space but still felt very cosy. He made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Would highly recommend!
The host picked us up at the airport, guided us around the city and even into the Mountains, was good company and, made every effort to make us feel welcome. The description of the facilities was precise and the neighbourhood good. Thanks for making our stay in Calgary a very pleasant one!
Roger was awesome! He was super accommodating to us even though we were a big family group...many hosts might've been stressed but he seemed totally at ease with the 6 of us! We arrived early (while the cleaners were still there) and needed to change our clothes for a function and they let us come in and use a bedroom anyways. The place was super clean and the beds were totally comfy with down duvets and a myriad of pillows to choose from. The kitchen was amazing with tons of food...the fridge was stocked and the pantry was loaded....Roger told us to help ourselves! Amazing! We will definitely be back and will recommend this apartment! Thanks!
This cosy well appointed basement appartment is excellent. My family of five stayed there on the way back to Australia. Roger was very pleasant and helpful. There was lots of extras, like basic foodstuffs, supplied by Roger and/ or previous guests which made breakfasts and snacks a breeze. Great location in NW Calgary, close to UofC, McMahon stadium and a short drive to the city.
I am retired now and love to travel and meet new friends.
Although I have been to many different countries I still feel blessed to call Calgary home. There is such freedom here, and the mountains are just an hour away.
Calgary is such a clean vibrant city with endless opportunities for work and pleasure.
Nature is at our doorstep both in the city and just outside, and it is free for all to enjoy.
In summer one can float through downtown on the Bow river, a world class trout stream, or be in the foothills of the Rockies in 45 minutes. In winter there is a ski hill 10 minutes from my door, and I can cross country ski a block away.
Having said that, I plan on spending more of the winter months in warmer countries.
