Very good host, conveniently located near a bus stop and Metro access to New York City.

Maria was the perfect host for our college age son for a whole semester he stayed from late Aug to mid December. She's communicative and helpful, clear in her expectations, and with both guidelines and giving private space. We couldn't ask for a better host and house. The house is beautiful and homey, on a lovely quiet residential street that is an easy walk to shopping and transportation. We are very grateful and appreciative for this Airbnb hostess and would totally recommend Vincent's house.

Pros: Maria welcomed me very warmly, and drove me to grocery stores on several occasions. Cons: The house is not as clean as other Airbnbs I have stayed at. Old houses can be clean too. During my stay, I noticed that Maria has a short temper. She needs to be better at taking criticism. Every piece of feedback guests give can be used to improve the listing. When the washing machine broke, she immediately assumed I put an extra towel in the load, or I pressed the button too many times. It didn't work on the first press of the button, and you can decide for yourself whether one towel can break a washing machine.

Maria is a terrible host and no one should stay with her, or give money to her and her family. First of all, AirBnb'rs should know that the Vincent listed on the ad is NOT the person you'lll be staying with. Bizarrely, and unnervingly, when you message this listing a man named Vincent answers. He does not live at the house. He is the brother of the woman who actually lives in the house. This is creepy in part because the first time I stayed here I informed that the brother Vincent had died. Therefore I do not know who this strange man is who is running the finances now; or if I was lied to for no reason I can discern. Either way, it's off-putting. You actually cannot even reach Maria, the woman who ACTUALLY runs the house, through this website. This means that despite AirBnb's strong recommendation that all commnication be done through the website, you will not be able to do that. Maria prefers to do her dealings with tenants offline, where no one can see how rude she is. My first visit here I stayed about a week and for one night there was another man in the other bedroom. He was gay and married and told us about his husband; at which point Maria went on an entire rant about gay people with seriously homophobic tones and comments. It was massively off-putting even for someone like myself whonot gay, but supportive of equal rights for everyone. Beyond that, Maria has harassed me throughout both of my stays. I cook a lot, but I kept her kitchen spotless as I feel very strongly that cleanliess is important when you are a guest. She moved my food around, re-tying things, never quite taking things from me but moving things around. She told me I wasn't cleaning enough, nothing I did was enough for her, despite my efforts and smiles to placate her and make her happy and keep her house neat and clean. She didn't care. I needed to stay a little longer this visit, and Maria denied me, which she is of course allowed to do. But that night, as I was sauteing onions, I accidentally set off the oversensitive fire alarm. Not a big deal, I took the food off the flame and opened the windows quickly to air out the room, and the alarm went silent. I ate my dinner and cleaned up the kitchen as usual but forgot to close the windows again. Later the same night, Maria came and BANGED on my door. She said to me, "I tried to be nice. But you LEFT the windows OPEN to PUNISH me. You are PUNISHING me. HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID. WHY ARE YOU STUPID." Yelling, in my face. Over and over. Calling me a stupid kid. I'm 26. I freely admit, I should not have left the windows open. It was a cold night and heating is expensive. that is absolutely...

Response from Vincent:
DELUSIONAL! DO NOT RENT TO THIS WOMAN! Libbie turned our house into a pig sty, almost set it on fire, and intruded into EVERY "personal" area of the house, and took over FULL control of the refrigerator. Maria, the Host, had NO privacy whatsoever. Libbie does not work and is in the house 24/7 consistently baking and cooking. Our reputation stands on its own merits. We have MANY repeated tenants. We have NEVER seen anyone like this. Yes, one brother did sadly pass away. However, I am another brother, Vincent. Avoid this woman at all cost. She is definitely delusional and ill-mannered. Vincent

Very nice 3 month stay. Pleasant room in a house that is a bit older, but in a very nice neighborhood. Maria was a wonderful host, very accommodating and helpful. Definitely recommend.

I was born in beautiful Southern Italy but lived most of my life in New York and Connecticut, where my wife and I raised our four children. I speak several languages and have owned many restaurants from New York to Florida. I came to Austin to assist my brother, Guido. He started this real estate company and enjoyed many years in wonderful Austin. Austin, being the "Live Music Capital of the World" offers so much to visitors. The growth has been indicative of that.
I do reside between New York and Austin and enjoy both places for their differences. I truly hope you enjoy your stay with us.
