This mid-century cabin is a perfect get-away spot. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, minutes from downtown Guerneville, this retro-themed property is a calm oasis, yet close to everything.
This charmer is very quiet and private! Bedrooms are separated from each other, making it fine for two couples. New beds (real). The feeling of really being "in the country" among the redwoods. A blast from the past! The side yard has some lovely mature redwood trees. In town by the Coffee Bazaar is a laundromat for your convenience. The Coffee Bazaar also has internet access.
Off-street gated parking. Guerneville Safeway is down on the main highway. Turn right on Highway 116 and drive to the ocean: sea lions and hiking. It is possible to rent a canoe or kayak and paddle the Russian river. Local restaurants range from my favorite burger joint to higher end establishments.
Interaction with Guests
Please email me with any needs. There are maps and books about Sonoma County and the Russian River area next to the television. Sebastopol, CA has a movie theater (20 minute drive).
Peace and quiet permeates this location. In addition to the ocean and hill hikes, there are some very nice flat walks nearby. An ideal place to stay if you have relatives to visit in the area (that was the experience our close neighbors opted for). Friends also stayed 3 1/2 weeks, and afterwards said "If you ever want to sell this place, call us first!"
You'd need a car to fully experience Sonoma and Napa Counties. It's a beautiful area. The town of Sebastopol is not far (eating, shopping, a movie theater), and there is a large antique mall on the way
into Sebastopol. Occidental, CA is a charming town, where you can stop to eat, and Bodega Bay (head south on the coast) is a very nice day trip. North to Fort Ross you have the gardens and seaside restaurants there (beside the beautiful coastal drive!)
Other Things to Note
$40.00 cleaning deposit requested at time of reservation, to be included with rental. Weekly rental gets you ONE NIGHT FREE. Monthly rental is negotiable.
No smoking inside, please. I will take care of arrangements for garbage and recycling removal.
For reasons of fire safety, I'm asking that guests not use candles.
Thank for letting us into your cabin. We had a fabulous time. Brian was a fantastic host with great story's to tell about the house! We totally disconnected from reality and felt as if we were back in 1955!! We even enjoyed our hike too and from town as well as to the top of moonshine hill! Great job and Thank you, I look foreword to telling all my friends about the HHH cabin!!
Brian welcomed my sister and I upon arrival and shared the history of the cabin, gave us some tips on where to eat and hike. What a great little spot nestled in the redwoods, comfortable quiet and perfect for our Russian River getaway. The beds are super comfortable. The nights were chilly and Brian and David had logs to burn in the cool retro fireplace to keep the cabin warm and cozy. The neighborhood is Guerneville eclectic...great for walking and checking out all the cabins and homes. We would with a doubt recommend Hidden Valley Hideaway!
David and Brian are A+ hosts!!! Extremely flexible and accommodating, and HHH is a true hidden retreat! My girlfriend and I had a few requests outside of the normal scope of a stay (extended checkout etc...), and not only were David and Brian accepting of the requests, they also encouraged it.
I have no doubt that we will be visiting HHH again!
We loved David's cottage nestled in the redwoods. The two of us were looking for a place to hole up and get some peace and quiet to (unfortunately) get some work done. The Hidden Valley Haven was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and Safeway is a short drive away if (when) you realize you've forgotten an ingredient. It was great to light a fire in the evening and relax with a glass of wine.
The reservation was canceled 175 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My daughter and I stayed here 7 nights in January and the hideaway could not have been any more perfect. Guerneville is such a friendly community and the cabin is located in a nice residential area rather than in the heart of downtown. It's on a large lot and you don't have neighbors on one side, so it feels very secluded and private. It is a peaceful retreat from city life, yet so close to the coast. We took daily trips to the beach in Jenner just 25 minutes away. The cabin itself is far better than the pictures or description posted. The living room is very roomie and so cozy. We spent a lot of time sprawled out on the floor in front of the fire playing monopoly and yatzee. The kitchen, with the best view of the forest, was a great place to drink tea and do a couple puzzles. It was also more than stocked adequately for me to cook good dinners each night (Safeway is only a couple miles away). The beds were so cozy and we slept every day until 10:00.
The boat was very responsive and friendly although we never met in person. They were there to greet us upon arrival but we arrived later than expected. Fresh lemons and a note were left on the counter. We will be back to Triple H Hideaway.
Dear Michelle, thank you for your kind review! We do hope that you will come back. We try to give an "experience" of a different time there at the cabin. Every season at the Russian River has it's benefits. Thank you for leaving the place in such good order. Hope to meet you next time! David
Awesome spot. We came up from the city for a retreat weekend and could not possible have chosen a better spot! Super cozy cabin, LOVE the fireplace and being surrounded by trees. We came up in December and napping in the rain and hiking in the fog was just what the doctor ordered! Very well appointed kitchen and comfortable bed. Highly recommend and already trying to figure out when we can come back.
Professional musician and gardener. I love Sonoma County with it's clean air, long growing season, and the proximity to wineries, hiking, natural outdoor beauty, and good restaurants. The cabin in Guerneville is a great get-away! I have had the best nights' sleep of my life while staying there.
