with lots of light, a futon sofa and easy chair to relax and enjoy the silence peacefulness of the garden.
We're less than 15 minutes NW of downtown Boulder (per GPS), near lovely trails around Twin Lakes, with its wonderful views. Perfect for those who have a car, with easy access to various local tourist destinations. Private suite includes bedroom, bathroom and adjoining living area, all remodeled in cozy/stylish deco, with independent entrance. The spacious living area has a futon couch, satellite TV, desk and chair, with your own small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. And the whole house has high speed internet.
You can be as independent as you like, or socialize with us when we're around. We love to entertain, so happy to chat over a drink by the fireplace or on our spacious deck, depending on time of year. Both our house and the neighborhood are very quiet most of the time, so if you're looking for a place you can retreat to in comfort, you'll love this self-contained suite. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Other than the use of the provided kitchenette appliances (coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, microwave, mini-fridge), we request that you do not cook or grill foods in your suite. Use of the house kitchen is not included, but occasional use can be negotiated.
The futon in the living area of your suite can also be used as a bed, and we also have an inflatable air bed if you want an additional sleeping option there.
Wowee! Staying at the private secluded Twin Lakes suite in Boulder was a great experience. The space is adorable. I had the whole suite to myself. It was quiet, clean, and well lit. I had an outside entrance if I wanted it, or could use the front door as well. My hosts were great and respected all of my needs. This location is fabulous too. It is an easy 10 minutes to downtown, where I saw a show at the U, walked Pearl St, and of course, ate at Whole Foods! Thanks for a great stay!
It says quite a lot about the hosts when they always greet you with a smile. They maintained a very welcoming atmosphere. I never felt the need to put this to the test, but I felt as though Susie and Gurudev genuinely enjoyed having other people around. They were not simply renting out space for extra money.
Almost everything shown in the photos is what you will actually find, with only some minor redecorations in the main room. All of the amenities are still provided, everything is clean, and the neighborhood is pretty peaceful. Taking a walk around the Twin Lakes is highly recommended, but even the back yard is nice and relaxing. All of this, and Downtown Boulder is a only a few miles away!
This suite is in a beautiful, peaceful area of Boulder. It was clean, modern and super quiet. I felt like I had my own apartment which was really nice as I had to work a bit during my stay.
Susie and Gurudev were SO warm and welcoming. I was greeted by Susie upon my arrival and Gurudev made a point to introduce himself to me as well. Their warmth was further reflected by the chocolates left on my pillow and the introspective books that were available for reading in the bedroom. They were both were very respectful of my privacy but made it clear that I was welcome to come into their area of the house and say hi too! I would definitely stay with Susie and Gurudev again.
We really enjoyed our stay. Very welcoming, lovely hospitality (&
sweet dog, Mr. Zen)! The set up & space was great; just perfect for us. We would happily return, as well as recommend to others.
Beautiful, homey, wonderful experience! Gurudev was an angel and my daughter and I both loved staying there:) Susie was out of the country and look forward to meeting her someday. I cant wait to stay there again....
Overall the accommodations were pleasant, nicely decorated, very clean, and in a very nice neighborhood. It was a bonus to have a separate living area in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. Unfortunately, we had difficulty upon arrival, the host was not home. This made us very nervous as we had never used Airbnb before, and we wondered if we might be caught up in some kind of an elaborate scam. The host returned shortly after we arrived at the home, so our fears were allayed. Our second night there was very noisy, we were trying to sleep (around 11pm) and there were friends/guests on the floor above, very loud voices and footsteps constantly. There's a nice walking/running area around two ponds very close to the accommodation, and a store nearby to buy food supplies. It's also just 12 minutes to Wholefoods Market and Pearle Street, a nice feature!
Thanks for the feedback, Cathy. I hadn't realized that missing your arrival by 5 min was so anxiety-producing--I had texted I was going to take Zen for a walk, and did get back to the house by the time you had projected to arrive from the airport. And I'm truly sorry that our board game night with neighbors was disturbing for you--we're ordinarily so quiet, but it's good to know that the sound from our dining room travels downstairs too well! In future situations, please communicate any concerns to the host at the time, as I think you'll find most of us very responsive.
We loved our stay with Gurudev and Susie. Their secluded suite is tastefully done, extremely comfortable and located conveniently to Boulder. It's the downstairs of their home and is totally private with it's own separate entrance. We loved the area, so beautiful and green. And we walked every day around the gorgeous twin lakes just around the corner from their home. In addition to offering a lovely place to stay, Gurudev and Susie are exceptional people. We so enjoyed getting to know them and their wonderful dog Zen..and look forward to staying here again in the very near future.
I am from Rio de Janeiro, now living in Boulder, CO.
I live with my husband Gurudev and Zen, our puppy from Brazil in a nice and spacious house, surrounded by lovely trees and near the Twin Lakes in Boulder.
We are an open-minded couple who love traveling, meeting new people and sharing experiences.
Our areas of interest include spirituality, healing, nature and world wisdom.
I wouldn't live without my coffee in the morning but I guess Gurudev doesn't have any of those addictions!
We're new to Airbnb, but it sounds like an incredible organization! We're truly looking forward to host and be hosted in the future!
