Interaction with Guests
We are generally around and available to help. We do hang out on the shared deck sometimes, but we live in a separate house on the property. Guests likely will interact more with Bodhi, our lovable dog, than with us, unless they seek us out!
Dominical is a small beach town, with world-class surf and beautiful sunsets. There are several good restaurants and cafes, decent supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy. There are a multitude of amazing outdoor experiences, tours and adventures to be had, which we can help arrange. Occasionally there is interesting night life although Dominical is more of a daytime place.
There are plenty of buses and taxis to get around to surrounding areas, and one can walk to the beach and to everything in Dominical easily from our place. We can help arrange shuttles or transport to get to or from the airport.
Other Things to Note
We are a relaxed and safe spot to enjoy Dominical, our yoga studio and the surrounding areas from.
We are a no-smoking environment.
We do not allow guests to bring home other unregistered guests, for the privacy and safety of those staying here.
A great place to stay if you are in Dominical. We are not into yoga (I did try) and I do think that if you are you would like Danyasa even more.
The deck and rooms are at the back of the house/studio so you won't be bothered by street noices and traffic.
Rooms are small but cosy, clean and have ac.
The deck is a nice place to relax, read a book and has a well equipped kitchen.
The owners are really nice people.
Don't have enough good things to say about this gem. The space itself is very peaceful and comfortable, a veritable sanctuary. The yoga studio is beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful in scheduling stuff to do. Dominical is the perfect town for travelers who are trying to save dough and looking for a less touristy experience. By comparison Manuel Antonio felt like Daytona Beach. Great surfing and affordable food (eg Cafe Mono Congo, Pescalito Loco). Filled with local characters and otherwise warm people
We had an amazing stay at Danyasa! Outdoor living at it's finest. Yoga, jungle showers, coconuts next door, beach just minutes away, hula hopping, kind and loving people, this place is so awesome! I would highly recommend Danyasa to anyone visiting Dominical. It was worth the 7hr drive. Brendan and Sofiah were so kind and trusting and went out of their way in making sure that we had a relaxing stay. They are superb hosts!
Danyasa Eco-Retreat was the perfect spot in Dominical. It is a short walk from the beach and right in the center of town.
The room had everything we needed: clean towels, comfortable bed and a/c. The communal dining room/porch and kitchen were great places to connect with other travelers.
We loved practicing yoga in the studio on our own and taking classes a few times. Another favorite element were the dogs.
I highly recommend this spot for people looking to meet other travelers, eat free coconuts and plantains, and enjoy outdoor showers.
Great place to relax and do yoga. Nice Atmosphere and wonderful open air kitchen and living "room". Room is not the biggest but that's not the focus here. The yoga area is spacious and perfect!
Very nice and helpful staff, too!
Totally recommend this place!
Stayed at Danyasa for three days during a solo trip round Costa Rica. You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere more relaxing: I spent the three days practicing yoga, walking along the beach, reading in a hammock, drinking tea, chatting with people coming and going, and listening to the afternoon rain on the roof of the crazy Ewok village that Brendan's built up around the studio. The classes and practice space are fantastic, and the teachers are creative, mindful, and super conscious of individual bodies.
I will be back. :)
The place is great and very relaxing. The mood of the place itself makes you feel like paradise. I liked the container thing...
The kitchen is very well suited with a lot of cooking tools. You even have a water fountain for cold and hot water. Having breakfast on the deck is awesome. I only regret that there is no real place for shaving and brushing teeth with a miror. The shower outside, behind the bamboos is fun but a lit mirror would have make it perfect.
