A one bedroomed flat in the heart of fashionable Angel Islington and just five minutes walk from bustling Upper Street with its dozens of excellent bars, restaurants, theatres & boutiques. It is just a 10 minute walk to Kings Cross or Angel stations!

The Space

PLEASE NOTE: The apartment now has a new 'Silentnight Miracoil' mattress, new espresso machine and has also had its annual repaint/freshen up throughout.

My newly renovated property is a stylish ONE BEDROOM GARDEN FLAT just 5 mins from the tube which sleeps 2-4 people.

This sunny flat, which boasts original wooden floorboards, has recently been completely refurbished to a very high specification and includes all the mod cons you would expect from a boutique hotel!

The main street, Upper Street, is lined with lovely coffee shops, designer shops, antique and junk shops to rummage in and classic English pubs to sample a pint of traditional ale.

* Just moments from vibrant Angel Islington and Upper Street with loads of great restaurants, stylish bars and famous theatres and live music venues that rival the West End.

* Within walking distance to the West End and Oxford Street.

* Easy stroll to Regents Canal where you can walk east to Victoria Park or west towards Camden town and Camden market.

* Moments from Chapel Market and the weekly farmers food market and the eclectic Camden Passage antiques area.

* Easy bus ride to Spitalfields vintage market and Brick Lane with all its famous curry houses and food stalls.

* Close to trendy Hoxton and lovely Columbia Road Flower market.

Nearest tubes are Angel Islington (zone 1) and Kings Cross tube and Eurostar terminal which are both just 5-10 mins walk away and there are plenty of bus stops literally just outside to travel all over London.

The flat is also a few minutes walk from Caledonian Road and Barnsbury overland station which offers the chance to explore further afield outside London like Richmond and Hampton Court.

Parking is available at an extra cost of £5 per day and there is a London cycle hire bike station just round the corner.

MORE ABOUT THE FLAT....

The flat is on the ground floor of a classic red brick mansion block. The flat is accessed through double doors into the lounge from the garden direct off Barnsbury Road. There is also a front door and small patio area which is accessed from the estate.

This area around the flat is a quiet residential area with tree lined Victorian and Georgian streets and close to Barnard Park. There are some excellent gastro pubs within a few minutes walk and Upper Street is just 5 minutes walk away. You will find everything you need on Upper Street including supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, bars etc....

The flat has one gorgeous bedroom with comfy double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and big window looking out onto the garden.

The lounge is decorated with some of my favourite art prints and is spacious with plenty of room for you to relax after days of sightseeing!

There are double doors leading onto the garden which overlooks a classic row of London Georgian terraced houses and offers easy access through the gate towards Upper Street.

Guests have the use of two IKEA foam fold-out sofa beds, LCD TV, DVD player and dining table with four chairs.

The newly fitted kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you should need for a comfortable stay.

There are brand new integrated apppliances including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine.

And if you decide to have a night away from Angel's excellent choice of bars and restaurants, there is a brand new fridge freezer, gas hob and electric oven for you to cook up a storm on!

There is a restfully decorated bathroom with heated towel rail, full size bath and shower overhead.

The flat also comes with free wifi, cable TV, fresh linen, soft towels and a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy when you arrive.

MORE ABOUT THE AREA....

The flat is also moments from Regents Canal and I would highly recommended taking time to stroll 30 mins either upstream to Regents Park and Camden or down river to the beautiful open spaces of Victoria Park and the emerging Olympic Village. There are lots of riverside pubs and cafes to make the walk even more enjoyable!!

I am more than happy to make any recommendations or offer advice for places to eat and drink after getting to know the area really well for years before I moved out a bit further east!

I have also put together a little personal guide listing my top things to do, favourite places to visit and what I think are some of the best places to eat and drink....feel free to ignore and explore yourself or ask for more advice!!

I live only 20 minutes away by bike and work from home so am pretty much on hand should you need any help. I will organise cleaning the flat during longer stays on arrangement with guests and their needs.

I look forward to welcoming you to my home! Please feel free to message with any questions!

The Neighborhood

I honestly think Islington is one of the best places in
London – we’ve got it all: great bars, top-notch food
and great local shops.

Plus with fabulous parks, and a great cultural vibe thanks to many local theatres, a world-renowned dance venue and fascinating museums, there really is something for everyone!

The area around The Angel, Upper Street and Essex Road is of special interest to visitors it is home to a number of interesting shops selling antiques and collectibles as well as art galleries.

Diners are spoiled for choice in Islington, especially the Upper Street area between Angel and Highbury & Islington tube stations.

A wide variety of cuisine and price ranges are available. Mediterranean food dominates but with options like Indian, Afghan, Italian, French, Thai, and South American there is food for all tastes.

We provide all confirmed guests with a welcome pack of our favourite restaurant, bars and pubs plus things to do etc

Getting around

Just a 10 minutes walk to either Angel or Kings Cross station. There are also dozens of 24 hour buses running all over the city.

  • Fab flat it said and fab flat it is. The flat itself is ideal for a weekend break in London or in my case a few days of business, it has a modest and comfortable living room a great kitchen that is well equipped and a clean and comfortable double bed in the bed room.
Access is really easy and Debs was very understanding of my incompetence in following simple instructions, she managed the situation very professionally and quickly to ensure security was taken care of. I was grateful and impressed.
The location is very good with access to nightlife, transport hubs, domestic shopping needs all within an easy walk.
Thank you very much Debs, next time I am travelling through London I am sure I will be in touch.

  • This flat was totally unsuitable for more than 2 adults. Our 19 year old granddaughter slept in the living room on a couch that folded out to a mattress on the floor. The worst part was that there are no blinds in the room, just a sheer curtain, and she was clearly visible at night from the road and bus stop. The couches were so uncomfortable we could not sit on them.
The shower hose sent water spraying all over the toilet, we had to tie a rag around it to use it at all.
The bedroom window did not open, the table leg was wonky, the bedroom chair was broken.....
There was no garden, just gravel and two dead shrubs.

    Response from Debbie:

I am disappointed that you didn't tell me of your concerns when I emailed you to check you were happy with the apartment. We would have happily resolved your issues and repaired/replaced the furniture. Indeed there is already a second set of thicker curtains in the apartment for the lounge if you had mentioned the lack of privacy. However, the only thing you mentioned was the shower pipe which you said you were managing with. This has since been replaced. If you had informed us of the other issues, we would have happily resolved them. Sadly you did not give us that opportunity.

What else?? Communication parfaite avec Debbie!!

  • I had a great stay at Debbie's flat. Had everything I needed and Debbie is easy to communicate with. Definitely would stay again and recommend.

    May 2014
  • Debbie's falt is very conveniently located. Communication was very smooth and easy and she's done everything to make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. There were plenty of tips and suggestions in the folder.
A great base from which to explore London in general and Islington in particular.

  • Came to London for a special event and found Debbie's flat to be so comfortable, convenient, close to everything (bus stop right outside door), that I had such a wonderful time I wish I could have stayed longer. I was with my aging Mother, who has some mobility issues, and nothing held us back. The flat, being on the lower level was perfect. The contemporary style of furnishings made it a comfortable living space. The location allowed us leisurely walks to market, (Church Market street stalls), eat at a myriad number of restaurants/pubs, hop on buses and see all the sights feeling safe, even after dark. Everything we needed and wanted was within walking distance or a sight-seeing wonderful double decker bus stop close by. We enjoyed the park across the way just watching children play on an enormous wooden play structure. And the flowers were out in force. My Mother commented on the Blue Bells in abundance. This flat is conducive to singles, couples, and families. We ate in at times and we journeyed out most often. Thanks sounds so simple...but thanks also says it all...Our journey was BRILLIANT!!!!!! I hope to return in a couple years for another event and I will be requesting this flat/home. • Very nice and very well located garden apartment. Debby is an amazing host, very reactive and she even brought me a new duvet :)

  • Debbie (email hidden). We were given plenty of information and assistance leading up to the visit. Angel is a beautiful area and the apartment is in a very convenient location; just a short walk to Upper street - which is full of cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. and close to bus stops and Angel Station. The flat was lovely and tidy.

  • Debbie was very nice and responsive to our planning emails. Unfortunately, on arrival, we were unable to sleep on the provided bed, which had support slats detached from the frame. We propped it up with a stack of books, but to no avail. We found the garden under construction, shall we say (old Roundup container, a box of nails, abandoned Wellies, etc. scattered about), and there was no working coffee maker (just instant granules).

The flat was clean, and if you have a strong back it is reasonably priced. But if you find it difficult to sleep on a severely sagging bed, this one is not for you. Others however have enjoyed the flat, and the location is convenient to buses and public transport. We left after two nights of our week. If you have several people on a tight budget this might work well for you.

    Response from Debbie:

I am somewhat upset by this unfair review. You decided to leave the apartment without telling me any of your concerns despite my repeated messages checking that you had settled in and had everything you needed. Unfortunately, this gave us no opportunity to address your various and somewhat unusual issues. We have found nothing wrong with the bed frame, and indeed you originally complained it was the mattress that was the problem. This would've been, and has since, been replaced within 24 hours of you arriving had you informed us. As for your other complaints, there is (email hidden) cafetiere provided in the kitchen and the garden utensils are not 'scattered about' but neatly stacked in one corner waiting for better weather.

  • Nice, clean, small but very cosy appartment, close to a lot of transport links (angel/Kings cross). Did not actually meet Debbie, but she had everything perfectly organised with clear instructions!
