This beautiful 1928 building was The Hideout for Bonnie & Clyde during their 13 days in Joplin, Missouri. They were accompanied by Buck Barrow (Clydes brother), wife, Blanche and friend, W. D. Jones. On Friday, April 13, 1933, Officers Harry McGinnis and JW Harryman responded to this location after receiving reports of bootlegging. Both officers died in the shootout that followed. A roll of film was left behind and provided law enforcement with the 1st images of the couple.

Great place to visit and remember a part of history. Very clean and comfortable. Saundra (host) has done a great job of decorating and sharing history. We had a great time!

Even if this wasn't a historic landmark, this would be a charming and fun place to stay. Impeccably clean and well decorated, it's close to the restaurants downtown, route 66, and is very easy to get to.

What a great piece of history! Saundra's place is decorated like it might have been in 1933 when the Barrow gang was there, but she has tucked away the modern conveniences like microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, and central air! Very clean and comfortable. No TV, but we used…

Response from Saundra:
Thank you for your kind words. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. I do apologize for the fact that you didn't realize there is a TV and DVD player. It is located in the livingroom hutch. I will add that information to my listing for future guests. Thanks again.
