Central to so many adventures ...Day trip to cloud forests, volcanos, the beach. Or see the Costa Rica from years ago right here in San Ramon. Waterfalls, horseback riding, hiking, trout farm restaurants, magical sunsets. We also have a list of services from airport pickup and personal chefs to in room massage. only 50 min to the international airport SJO. San Ramon is 10 min down the road, the Puntarenas ferry to the Northern Pacific beaches in an hour away.
Or just hang out here... 9 acres of gardens, forest, small finca, fire pits, places to sit and enjoy the view.
Interaction with Guests
We are here most of the time. Normally breakfast, or when you need a bottle of wine or a few beers from our "store" (kitchen in main house). When families with kids rent the whole cabin... Come use the swing set, trampoline, play with our kids :). Also have play station and movie "rentals" at the main house. We take donations for a local charity. Our romantically inclined guests don't need to see us at all if they don't want to! Or anyone else for that matter. Each cabin is pretty set apart. But we can arrange tours, taxis, rental cars, real estate showings, you name it! Just ask.
Not a tourist destination. Many folks just spend the night since we are so close to SJO. But they ALL wish they had spent more time here once they find out about San Ramon and VV B&B. Crime is low, streets are safe, there's every kind of little mom and pop shop you can imagine. The views from the mountains will blow you away, the hospitality will keep you smiling, and you will feel like you visited a Costa Rica so so many others miss out on- that horseback ride through Green forest to a water fall where no one else is, fishing for your own trout with a little line and wood at a local "restaurant" while drinking beers and hanging out with a bunch of other happy families and friends on a lazy weekend day. Visiting Sarchi and learning the culture of our oxcarts just 20 minutes away. This is the Costa Rica that most of us fell in love with so many years ago.
Not so much convenient, but there is a bus at the bottom of our hill into town and back every hour. San Ramon is considered a city though, and busses head all over towards the beaches, out to La Fortuna, and to Alajuela near the airport. Taxis are only 2500 colones to or from town with our trusted driver Eric. Airport pickup and drop off is $60 through us. And we have special deals with some car companies so just ask.
Nice, respectful of nature. We don't have zip lines or atvs for a reason. Smoking outside only, don't ash all over terrace, never smoke near kids or guests who don't like it. 9 acres, you'll find somewhere to go! 1 parking spot at cabin, one at top of driveway, several at main house. First come first serve. Quiet time after 9 pm when common areas are closed unless guests become fast buds and mutually agree on leaving it open.
Must share wine and cervezas.
Break it, pay for it to be replaced or fixed.
Check in after 3pm
Check out by noon
Travelled around the world with mom and dad since I was little, hoping my little ones will too, starting with this move. Owned a bar for several years, love mom and pop places from breweries to craft stores. Studied as a meso-american archaeologist for several years, some post-grad work, and may be able to get to know Turrialba here in CR a little better. Looking forward to desining my own boutique hotel from the ground up (with LOTS of hubby input, of course)- wordly, comfortable, welcoming to everyone no matter who or what you are.
