You're 5 minutes from the closest subway, 10 min.. from the trainstation, 30 seconds from the first nice tapa-bar, in the middle of a great city in one of its best barrios.
Other Things to Note
The winding staircase is listed as part of Barcelona's architectural heritage but not really made for big suitcases. The flat is on the 4th floor and doesn't have an elevator.
Please do respect the neighbours!
This place in el born is in a great position. There are so many great places close by. There are some steps to get to the apartment and these are pretty unique- a good feature of the apartment I think. The apartment is well laid out and spacious for two and has a nice view over the neighborhood. Bernard was very helpful and accommodating and very responsive. A great experience!
Our overall experience was positive. Bernard was flexible, attentive and really easy to get ahold of. When we arrived he treated us to coffee and shared what he loved about Barcelona. On the day we were leaving, he held our luggage so we did not have to lug it around the city prior to catching our flight. The el born neighborhood was wonderful!! We really enjoyed a juice spot called la Hamaca and a restaurant called picnic. What a great experience!
Bernard's flat is located in an excellent neighborhood with easy access to the trains and access to all the major sites of Barcelona. The neighborhood was also very safe. I was a little worried about no air conditioning with the warm weather in Spain, but with all the windows and a perfectly placed fan, the apartment was actually cool. While Bernard did not ever meet me in person, he was very responsive even when I arrived and had some minor issues (e.g. missing essentials and trouble opening the door). He quickly resolved those issues. In addition, the apartment is clean and as advertised in the pictures. I would recommend bringing your own hand soap, shampoo etc. as the apartment didn't have any. Overall, Bernard's place is a great deal in probably the best neighborhood in Barcelona.
Bernard's apartment is a wonderful place to stay on your trip to Barcelona. It is perfectly located in el born in walking distance to so many amazing restaurants, bars, museums, and a metro station. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures and is newly renovated and decorated very nicely. Bernard was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. He had many great recommendations for what to do in the city. We enjoyed our stay and were very sad to leave el born.
Bernard's studio apartment was great and Bernard was fantastic through the whole process. He got back to us very quickly on all communication. Bernard wasn't able to meet us for check in because of extenuating circumstances, but he bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of.
The only challenge of the apartment is the stairs. Very steep and narrow, but I believe this is in the description.
Bernard provided excellent recommendations on local restaurants (Bar del Pla is great!). The El Born district is centrally located and a short walk from the heart of Barcelona and a metro stop.
I cannot say enough positive things about Bernard. Great host. Stay with him if you are visiting Barcelona.
About the Host, Bernard
I'll be happy to welcome you in this perfectly located great place in el Born.
I've been living in Barcelona for over 21 years and never stopped looking for those truly nice, authentic, preferably non-touristy and sometimes really hidden tapas-bars, restaurants, bars, shops or simply great being-there spots, making Barcelona what it is.
If you need any kind of information, it will be a pleasure to share my recommendations and try to get the best out of your stay in this wonderful city.
Hope to be seeing you.
