Your private room in a semi-private apartment is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. We are located in Bucktown and are a 15 minute walk (one el stop away) from both Wicker Park and Logan Square. Enjoy a true Chicago experience.
Your comfortable, private room is located in the first floor apartment of our private home. We use the first floor as a freelance graphic design office. Your bedroom is always completely private, and the rest of the apartment is semi-private. It is in use during business hours, but we rarely use it during nights and weekends. We may occasionally need to use it for work.
The room has a queen size futon bed, lighting for reading, a computer for staying connected and streaming movies, a closet for storage, and a full-length mirror.
The unit has a separate entrance for the rest of the house, so you can come and go with privacy. You have access to the unit which includes a kitchen, bath, dining area, reading area, WiFi, and treadmill. You will also be able to relax in our back yard garden with a patio, canopy, grill, comfortable seating, and lighting.
This is a working office during the days, so there will be phones ringing, music playing, and keyboards clicking during office hours. Once in a while we do have meetings here as well.
We want to give you as much privacy as possible, but we will be available to give you any tips and assistance with your stay in Chicago.
Bucktown and Wicker Park are really fun neighborhoods to visit. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bar, coffee shops, and clubs. There is a free pool a block away.
We're close to major interstates, and have plenty of parking (not all of Chicago can say that). We're a 10 minute walk to the el (blue line) and a 10 minute ride from there. There are also rental bike nearby that can be checked out and returned all over Chicago.
Free WiFi and access to printing for things like directions and boarding passes.
Very comfortable, homey and private. Central location not too far from Logan Square, near family - quiet street. Bed was comfy. Back yard looked like a great place to enjoy the evening, although we weren't there long enough to do it. Would recommend, at the risk of being booked when we want it again!
It's a very nice stay with Carrie&Brad during four-day trip to Chicago. They're so hospitality to us. We enjoyed a pleasant journey in this beautiful city.
It was a very lovely and quiet space for my short stay!
We were very pleased with our first air bnb experience. Thanks to Carrie and Brad for the comfy room. We enjoyed the neighborhood too! I was glad to meet you both and would stay again, as well as recommend the room to others. We really appreciated the ease of access, coffee and toiletries that were provided. Also we were impressed with the overall welcoming spirit of The people in Chicago. Last thing, if using a cab to travel I HIGHLY recommend downloading the Halo app!
I had a fantastic stay! Lots of communication with my hosts before hand (with helpful tips left in my room upon my arrival), great location near the Blue Line, and an adorable apartment filled with artwork and warm touches. I met Brad on my last day--he was a very gracious and inviting host. I loved the privacy and the chance to stay in a quiet neighborhood rather than noisy downtown. I highly recommend this place, and I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again! Thanks for a great visit!!!
This was our first time staying in an Air Band B. It was a great experience! Very comfortable accommodations, clean, bright, quiet and in a great location with easy access to public transportation. It was fun to see another artist's studio space!
came in late after long long drive. it was the weekend so we had the space to ourselves (they work in it during the week). fabulous space in a great safe neighborhood. comfy bed, great bath and kitchen facilities.
we will DEFINITELY look them up next time we're in chicago.
Good location, available street parking, private bedroom, separate entrance.
I had a Friday meeting in the Wicker Park area and this was great for my one-night stay. I happened to arrive just when Brad was walking home with the kids from school, so he actually ran inside and opened the door for me and showed me around a bit. His graphic design office operates out of the garden-level of their house, and that's where the private bedroom is for your stay. There is a bathroom across the hall from the bedroom, a kitchenette on one end and a sitting area on the other end. Brad's main office and desk is in the open middle area.
Brad did run downstairs maybe a couple times to access the phone and computer for his work. His painting studio is in the small room next to the bedroom, but he did not seem to access that during my stay. So I basically had the place to myself.
I ended up having a bit of a migraine, so I mostly just rested and slept in the bedroom which was dark and fairly quiet (great for migraines)! Not too much noise from the upstairs activities. The bedroom is not spacious but was perfect for my needs. Had a good closet for laying out a few items, great reading lamps and a comfy bed with clean linens.
I grabbed takeout dinner from a great Cuban restaurant just around the corner that I walked to in about 2 minutes. I made a cup of tea from some of the tea that was provided in the kitchen. Looks like the kitchen has lots of utensils for making some simple meals on the stovetop if you want (oven does not work). I ate my dinner at the dining table, called it a night and was perfectly happy!
I was not able to get the AppleTV to work, but that may have been because of a software update that seemed to be going on. I am guessing Brad and Carrie would have helped me re-boot it, but it was not a big deal. I was able to access the WIFI and work on my computer for a few things.
Bathroom was overall tidy and clean towels were available in the bedroom.
Since I was not feeling very well, I really appreciated the privacy. When I closed the bedroom door, I really felt like I could just rest and be comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!
Carrie an Brad were great hosts! Although the downstairs heat was out the first night of my stay, Brad brought me a space heater and Carrie credited me back the price of the night. I had the entire downstairs floor to myself the whole week since I was gone during the day, and there were fresh muffins in the kitchen and Netflix on a TV in my room. Brad and Carrie also gave me great advice about where to look for apartments in the city and how to prepare for a Chicago winter, which was awesome since I just moved from Texas and am way out of my league weather-wise. I can't recommend Brad and Carrie too highly. Thanks, guys!
Carrie and Brad's place was cute, comfortable, and private. There's an awesome coffee shop just down the street and easy access to the CTA. We didn't spend much time there because we arrived late, but we were grateful that Carrie and Brad were flexible about our arrival when we ran into some car trouble on the last day of a very long road tip. Because it is in the middle of the office space, it might be a little strange to use the bathroom down the hall on week days, but on our weekend stay it felt like we had a little place to ourselves. Thanks!
