About this listing
Your private room is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. We are located in Bucktown and are a 15 minute walk (one el stop away) from both Wicker Park and Logan Square. Enjoy a true Chicago experience.
Your comfortable, private room is located in the first floor apartment of our private home. We use the first floor as a freelance graphic design office. Your bedroom is one of two rooms we offer on airbnb (the other room is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/4667333?s=-FGw). The room is always completely private, and the rest of the apartment is for your use as well. The office space is generally in use during business hours, but we use it during nights and weekends since I use the space to oil paint as well.
We have three kids who may wake up at 6:30 and start running around. They do not realize how this sounds to our guest and they are working on it. You will have to consider this as part of the experience. The bonus is that you won't sleep in by accident.
The room has a queen size futon bed, lighting for reading, a computer for staying connected and streaming movies, a closet for storage, and a full-length mirror. It's a small room, but has everything you need.
The unit has a separate entrance for the rest of the house, so you can come and go with privacy. You have access to the unit which includes a kitchen, bath, dining area, reading area, and WiFi. You will also be able to relax in our back yard garden with a patio, canopy, grill, comfortable seating, and lighting. The general areas are for guests in both room and will be shared.
Interaction with Guests
This is a working office during the days, so there will be phones ringing, music playing, and keyboards clicking during office hours. Once in a while we do have meetings here as well.
We want to give you as much privacy as possible, but we will be available to give you any tips and assistance with your stay in Chicago. Also, there may be other guest staying in the other room. Please respect their stay as well.
Bucktown and Wicker Park are really fun neighborhoods to visit. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bar, coffee shops, and clubs. There is a free pool a block away.
We're close to major interstates, and have plenty of parking (not all of Chicago can say that). We're a 10 minute walk to the el (blue line) and a 10 minute ride from there. There are also rental bike nearby that can be checked out and returned all over Chicago.
Other Things to Note
