This large property has four cabins evenly spaced on a two acre piece of property with a view of the lake.
Each cabin has two bedrooms with two queen size beds and an upstairs loft with three single beds. Every cabin has one full bathroom. Each cabin has a kitchen stocked with essential cookware, utensils, microwave, electric stove/oven and refrigerator. The living room features 'This End Up' furniture and a 32' flat screen wall mounted TV with DVD player. Each cabin is stocked with a variety of 25+ DVDs. Wifi connection is provided as well.
We have a seasonal private dock for your boat or jet ski's. The boat launch is adjacent to the property and directly next to our dock. The property is in the serene Ironwood Cove on Lake Wallenpaupack, which has much less boat traffic then the main part of the lake.
The interior of the cabin is made of hand cut wood. Very nice and very clean. Three cabins have an enclosed screened-in porch and the other cabin has an expanded living room and no screened-in porch. All cabins have a their own deck with a picnic table on it, outdoor fireplace with four chairs, and a steel park style charcoal grill.
***Please bring towels and linens, we pretty much have everything else in the cabin.
There is also a common area in the middle of the four cabins with a horse shoe pit.
About the Lake:
Lake Wallenpaupack is a center of recreation for the surrounding communities, providing boating, swimming, and fishing access in the summertime, as well as ice skating and ice fishing in the winter. Its wooded shoreline also provides opportunities for hiking and viewing wildlife. Lake fish include smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rock bass, bluegill, walleye, muskellunge, northern pike, pickerel, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, catfish and yellow perch. Striped bass and hybrid striped bass have been stocked in the lake. The lake is 13 miles (21 km) long, has 52 miles (84 km) of shoreline, and is about 60 feet (18 m) deep at its maximum depth. You can rent boats and jet skis up and down the lake. It is a short walk (250 feet) to the waters edge.
We have park charcoal grills and a fire pit.
We are DOG Friendly for a fee of $25 for the weekend, $50 for the week per dog.

My 2 girlfriends and I wanted to get away from all the craziness of Manhattan and spend a weekend in a more tranquil and peaceful environment. We could not have chosen a better place. The cabin was more spacious than in the pictures. Very cozy and so close to the beautiful lake. a vast selection of DVD's and board games was sure to keep us entertained throughout the weekend, and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary pots, pans, and utensils. I want to mention a slight problem we had during our stay and explain why that didn't deter me from writing a positive review. the weekend that we arrived just happened to have been the coldest of this winter. temperature outside was around 10 degrees, if not less. we found out the next morning that the thermostat in our cabin was broken and inside the cabin felt like no more than 30 degrees. we called the number teresa had provided us in case of any emergency, and Mike came to check it out within 10 minutes of our call. He was extremely apologetic and assured us he will get someone to come and repair them. within 3 hours, we had the heat back in the cabin. Teresa, who was away in Europe during our stay, also emailed me to apologize of the situation and to offer compensation for our inconvenience. We were very thankful for their attentiveness to our needs and how badly they felt for the problem. Teresa was so sweet to reach out to us even while she was away, and we left with absolutely no bitter taste in our mouths about the temporary thermostat problem. In fact, we were already planning our next trip here while checking out!
Thank you, Steve, Teresa, and Mike for a great stay. I hope to be back there very soon.
The place was great just how I thought it would look. Very clean and cozy house .
Very clean and comfortable house with all amenities you can think of. Great location near a lake in a very pleasant community. Highly recommended!
This was a great getaway! The cabin was clean and inviting, even though we made very last-minute arrangements. It's perfect for 2 people. Although it sleeps 7, I think 7 in the living space would be a little tight unless the group includes young children. Four or 5 would be comfortable, two was perfect. Of course, in the summer, it might be different, when the outside deck becomes living space as well. The bed was quite comfortable and the location was perfect. It's a short walk to the lake and lots of nice walking in the neighborhood as well. Steve and Theresa were very helpful in preparations for our visit, sending everything we needed by email in a very timely fashion, with only hours before we left. Both of them also called me to make sure I got the information I needed. We were lucky to meet Larry, Steve's dad, on Sunday. We would definitely return and highly recommend it for a getaway.
Teresa, Steve, and Larry contacted me almost immediately after booking; and during the week before our arrival, I received all other vital info, including a most welcome snow detour and the relatively small size of the cabin's oven (our stay covered Thanksgiving, and I was cooking for 6 or 7)--both extremely thoughtful, useful cautions.
The cabin was exactly as described and photographed--utterly charming. The surprise was that it was warm, too! And in under 20-degree weather, that assuredly counts. A haven of warmth and convenience in 13-odd inches of treacherous, glorious snow in magnificent lakeside scenery.
The kitchen was fully equipped, roomy enough to store the food for and put together a large meal; the bathroom was spotless and the shower hot; there were plenty of very comfortable beds with blankets and pillows; there were parking spaces for at least five vehicles; and the widescreen monitor was backed up with a huge choice of CDs. The screened-in deck was a lifesaver in many ways and, if the temperature had been even a little higher, would have seen even more action.
All in all, a marvellous, but far too short stay.
We spent the weekend at the O'Leary's cabin by the lake and it was absolutely wonderful! Their cabin is warm and cozy and had everything you need, from DVDs to games to a full kitchen and comfortable beds. It was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city to the quiet scenic woods by the lake. We had a chance to meet the owner who was extremely welcoming and respectful of our privacy. I would suggest this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable quiet getaway.
