Riad Samsara is my beautifully restored traditional Moroccan Riad. A riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard. The word riad comes from the Arabian term for garden, "ryad".
Your breakfast will be served of amongst the orange trees and bourgonvilla or on the roof terrace overlooking the old town of Marrakech! I have 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WIFI. There is also a lounge and dining room.
Melouda my housekeeper is on on call and will prepare for you breakfast in the morning included in the price and if required for an extra charge dinner.
Marrakech is situated at the foot of the High Atlas, the highest mountainous barrier in North Africa. The city is divided into two distinct parts: the Medina, the historical city, and the new European modern district called Gueliz or Ville Nouvelle. The Medina is full of intertwining narrow passageways and local shops full of character. In contrast, Gueliz plays host to modern restaurants, fast food chains and big brand stores.
amazing location and there are no words to describe the feeling of waking up to the noise of the ocean. everything was inclusive and the meals were very delicious!! the best experience we have had in morocco
This guesthouse and our stay in Imlil was the highlight of our trip. The surroundings were amazing and the staff at Douar Samra were on par. We ate wonderful traditional meals with the other guests and swapped stories. I would highly recommend a stay.
We were both absolutely astounded by the breathtaking view when we arrived. The cave was very comfortable and we loved being next to the roaring sea and open skies. We were happy with the food and Doudou's a wonderful host.
DarMassa Fishermans cave is an absolutely beautiful place... raw beauty on the edge of the world. If you're looking for some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place for (website hidden) this is Morocco, so make sure you know how to speak some Arabic, or at the very least you should be able to speak French.
The Treehouse is just divine. The design is so warm and cozy and the views spectacular. It is truly a special place. It is hard to explain what a wonderful the treehouse is to stay because it is not just an accommodation but the full experience of the place. Meals are eaten communally with other guests in a traditional Berber salon decorated beautifully -- and at night lit only by candle and fire light -- so atmospheric. Rachida is Jacqueline's house manager and facilitates everything --with the help of Muhammad-- and cooks all the delicious meals. The food was some of the very best that we had our entire time in Morocco. There is lots to do nearby, particularly if you are interested in walking/hiking through the sublime landscape! I really cannot recommend it enough! The only downside was that the internet did not work the entire time we were there.
The cave was a truly wonderful experience - very authentic and very special. Jacqueline has created a unique space for being right on the Atlantic ocean and have it pretty much all to yourself. Walking along the beach - which we also had for ourself in early December - we wondered why not more people transformed the fishermen´s caves into vacation spots as the scenery is truly great. But for now, it is just Jacqueline and whoever is in for an outstanding experience should give it a try!
Doudou, the housekeeper, has been most helpful with everything and cooked wonderful food for us, had the diesel generator running when we wanted a hot shower or charge our Ipad. So one is not completely alone out there on the ocean shore, which is also good to know.
So in short: For everyone who really wants to get a feeling for the tides, the rising of the sun, how bright stars can sparkle at night and how easily a full moon lights up the night sky - Jacqueline´s cave is the perfect place to be.
A perfect holiday experience. We loved the treehouse. If you like a cosy hideaway in the middle of the mountains with a true Berber atmosphere: GO! Apparently there are good opportunities for guided tours...but we prefered to stay "home" and enjoy the calm around us. Transfer was organised perfectly and the hosts are very kind (thanks Rashida, for the warm welcome). There are also lovely "litte thing" that you have to find out for yourself. Thank you so much, we will keep the place in our heard for a long time!
This really was the highlight of our trip to Morocco.
Jacqueline was very responsive and helpful in helping us to find our way to the caves. We were traveling around by public bus - and this worked out fine - although does require coordination ahead of time.
The cave is beautiful.
The meals were excellent.
And Doudou - who looks after the cave - was around for any questions and even gave us a ride into Agadir the last day.
Bring a book and flip flops.
We were there in March and wore jackets at night and in the morning.
We spent our time walking the beach, collecting seashells, reading, and sunbathing on the lovely patio.
Such a special place.
This amazing cave is the best choice to spend an unforgettable vacation. Everything is perfect!!!
EPIC! Beautiful surroundings and an amazing host. We could have not asked for a better experience. Doudou is the most amazing chef!
