About This Listing
Light-filled home has sweeping views of the baby, dunes, and ocean from living room and deck. Enjoy peaceful ambiance in a clean, uncluttered home, or yoga on the large deck. Walk blocks to beach, bluffs, marina, state park & golf course.
Quiet room is a dedicated guest room, furnished with a comfortable queen bed with down comforter and writing desk. There is ample storage, including empty closet. The two bedrooms are separated by the bathroom for a bit more privacy. There is additional storage in bathroom, which is shared by me as a single tenant.
You will have full access to the rest of the home (except for my room, of course). Kitchen has an open floor plan with small dining area, dishwasher, refrigerator with plenty of room, cupboard for your food, working area for cooking, and all the kitchen things one could use (including juicer).
Interaction with Guests
I will be very happy to suggest local attractions and activities. I will probably be around if you are using the kitchen in the evening, so we will need to coordinate timing preferences.
This is a quiet, clean, beach neighborhood within walking distance of the downtown embarcadero with its many restaurants, galleries, and shops. The Monarchs winter within blocks of here. Fall & winter sunsets can be spectacular at Morro Rock, less than 2 miles away via level bike ride.
This area stands out for its nature and wildlife. Miles of beaches offer great surfing and walking. Endangered sea otters and peregrine falcons can be viewed at Morro Rock. Beautiful Montana de Oro State Park (featured on Sunset magazine's cover summer of 2013) is 10 miles south with many miles of hiking and horse trails, cliff views of the ocean, and Spooner’s Cove where dolphins, pelicans, and sea otters frolic. The largest elephant seal colony in the U.S. is 30 miles north near Hearst Castle.
SLO County bus transport is available from the downtown area. In the summer there is a local trolley around Morro Bay.
With Cal Poly only 12 miles away, this is an ideal location for parents visiting their students, who want to be more comfortable and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the area. San Luis Obispo also provides city entertainment with its abundant live music, art, shopping, and restaurants.
Other Things to Note
I have two older, mostly decorative, tabby cats, so this is not a good fit for those with allergies. No other pets please.
I will provide eggs, toast, hot cereal, and other breakfast foods for you to prepare. Since I have a normal active life, I will not be able to cook for you.
The tile floors really help keep things clean, but can be cold in the early morning. You might want to bring slippers or wool sox to keep your toes warm.
Wifi passcode will be given upon arrival.
Please, no smoking guests, and definitely no drugs.
- Use of the kitchen assumes you can clean up after yourselves.
- If you wish to use the kitchen, talk to me in advance so we can coordinate timing.
- Eating at the table instead of wandering around with food really helps keep things clean.
Damp towels on down comforters do not mix well.
This is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, so quiet times are between 10pm and 8am.
A lovely room in a lovely home in a lovely neighborhood! Perfect beachy decor; guest room, towels, etc clearly identified and available. House/room were very clean. The house was light and airy with a deck and view of the bay (from both the deck and the interior). Information/instructions were provided to me prior to arrival and were succinct and useful. Janet provided a list of suggested dining options; we tried two of them and they were spot on. She also provided a list of activities/site for the area that were organized geographically (a thoughtful touch).
Janet greeted us and treated us more as good friends, rather than tenants. The room was lovely. The comfortable bed was just what we needed after a long day of travel. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with a view of the ocean.
Janet was a caring and respectful hostess. She communicated with us prior to arrival and send a list of things to do in the area so that we could plan in advance. Her house is clean and well organized. We were welcome to use the kitchen, and she even left great organic salsa, beans eggs and tortillas for breakfast for us as well as coffee and tea- much appreciated! The view of the Morro Bay that can be seen out of the windows is gorgeous and peaceful. Janet has two lovely and friendly cats who hang out with us in the evening. Thanks Janet for a great experience- we really enjoyed our stay.
We arrived at the house a little late that day. Janet was very nice to wait us and introduced everything to us.
Janet called me ahead of time to make sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. Her place was beautiful and clean. Additionally, her cats were very sweet and excited for extra petting hands in the house. Would recommend anyone to stay here!
It's the first time for me to choose airbnb. I and my friend had a great stay at Janet's beautiful home, we loved two cats and the view. The room is cozy, clean and beautiful. Thanks Janet to give us many suggestions about cafe, restaurants, the trip...it's a great experience that we stayed in Morro Bay!

About the Host, Janet
Like most residents of the beautiful central coast, my interests are outdoors activities like hiking, kayaking, sailing, and anything close to nature. I'm clean, neat, appreciative, and actively creating a healthful lifestyle. I love being around other positive, easygoing people, and traveling with environmental awareness.
As a host, I want to help you appreciate the natural beauty of the central coast and the friendly, creative people who live here.
The small nature center is packed full of hands-on exhibits explaining facts about why the Morro Bay estuary is so special. Interesting, fun, educational.Embarcadero Morro Bay CA 93442
One of the best for real food (local pesticide-free). Great fish of the day salad. Open for lunch all days, but only for dinner Th-Sun till 8:30. Wonderful sunset spot on hill behind cafe.State Park Rd Morro Bay CA 93442
Great fish tacos right off the boat. (Seriously - the owner has a fishing boat, and all his buddies sell to him also.) The salmon tacos are wild, atmosphere is casual, food is healthful and great.Embarcadero Morro Bay CA 93442
Theres no active category to fit this gem into, although airbnb needs one for the Central Coast alone. Point Buchon trail is a relatively flat and easy hike along the bluffs with stunning views.los osos California
Great smoked fish tacos from a fish shack just south of the pier. Outside seating, about as casual an atmosphere as you can get.D Street Cayucos CA 93430-1107

With a pop. of 18, you will miss this wonderful place if you blink on Hwy 1. The Harmony Cafe gets fabulous reviews, and the glassworks and pottery stores from local artisans are just as wonderful.Harmony CA 93428
