About this listing
Light-filled home has sweeping views of the bay, dunes, and ocean from living room and deck. Enjoy peaceful ambiance in a clean, uncluttered home, or yoga on the large deck. Walk blocks to beach, bluffs, marina, state park & golf course.
Quiet room is a dedicated guest room, furnished with a comfortable queen bed with down comforter and writing desk. There is ample storage, including empty closet. The two bedrooms are separated by the bathroom for a bit more privacy. There is additional storage in bathroom, which is shared by me as a single tenant.
You will have full access to the rest of the home (except for my room, of course). Kitchen has an open floor plan with small dining area, refrigerator with plenty of room, cupboard for your food, working area for cooking, and all the kitchen things one could use (including juicer).
Interaction with Guests
I will be very happy to suggest local attractions and activities. I will probably be around if you are using the kitchen in the evening, so we will need to coordinate timing preferences.
I really want guests to have a wonderful time in this beautiful area, but cannot spend hours helping you plan your itinerary and translating. So that we may both have the best experience possible together, you will need to speak English well enough to convey what you are interested in and why you want to come to the Central Coast.
This is a quiet, clean, beach neighborhood within walking distance of the downtown embarcadero with its many restaurants, galleries, and shops. The Monarchs winter within blocks of here. Fall & winter sunsets can be spectacular at Morro Rock, less than 2 miles away via level bike ride.
This area stands out for its nature and wildlife. Miles of beaches offer great surfing and walking. Endangered sea otters and peregrine falcons can be viewed at Morro Rock. Beautiful Montana de Oro State Park (featured on Sunset magazine's cover summer of 2013) is 10 miles south with many miles of hiking and horse trails, cliff views of the ocean, and Spooner’s Cove where dolphins, pelicans, and sea otters frolic. The largest elephant seal colony in the U.S. is 30 miles north near Hearst Castle.
SLO County bus transport is available from the downtown area. In the summer there is a local trolley around Morro Bay.
With Cal Poly only 12 miles away, this is an ideal location for parents visiting their students, who want to be more comfortable and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the area. San Luis Obispo also provides city entertainment with its abundant live music, art, shopping, and restaurants.
Other Things to Note
I have an older, mostly decorative, tabby cat, so this is not a good fit for those with allergies. No other pets please.
I now have neighbors in the center unit of the triplex, and wish to respect their privacy as much as possible. So this is not a good match for those who do not speak English well enough for me to convey this.
I will provide eggs, toast, hot cereal, and other breakfast foods for you to prepare. Since I have a normal, active life, I will not be able to cook for you.
The tile floors really help keep things clean, but can be cold in the early morning. Bring slippers or wool socks to keep your feet warm.
Please note that California is currently experiencing a severe drought. Short showers and water conservation are appreciated.
Wifi passcode will be given upon arrival.
Please, no smoking guests, and definitely no drugs.
If you wish to use the kitchen, talk to me in advance so we can coordinate timing.
- Use of the kitchen assumes you can clean up after yourselves.
- Please help keep things clean by eating at the table instead of wandering around with food.
Damp towels on down comforters do not mix well.
This is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, so quiet times are between 10pm and 8am.
Janet was great. She welcomed us as soon as we arrived and showed us around.
Janet was extremely welcoming even before I arrived and during my time at her house. She made suggestions to me about my itinerary as I was planning my drive down the PCH and we had several exchanges through airbnb's message system. I already knew we would get along before we even met.
Staying at her house was wonderful and very healing. The room has a nice energy and was quiet and peaceful. Janet went out of her way to be welcoming and make sure that I had a positive experience in her house and in Morro Bay. I am very grateful to her for her genuine hospitality and would recommend her and her place to anyone. Great host!!
Janet was such a great host and her place is lovely. She was very communicative before our arrival and really sought to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. We wish we could've stayed longer!
Janet was in touch with us often, readily providing itineraries and information about the surrounding areas north and south. She allowed us to use her kitchen for a light dinner after we made arrangements with her, and gave us our own space in the bathroom for our things. She had lovely breakfast food and even prepared a yummy avocado toast for breakfast for us before we ran off to Hearst Castle for our tour. The location was great and has a lovely view. You must be OK with older kitties if you want to be comfortable here. They are very sweet. Overall a very nice stay.
Janet is a very sympathic host that takes care of the guests. She lives in a nice location and the room is really nice. She recommended us a good place for diner and a breakfast was also included. So we felt absolutely welcome and will stay there definetly the next time we are around.
We stayed at Janet's place from July 2-5, 2015. Janet was there to greet us, and ensure we knew where everything was. The location was very convenient for our activities. Janet prepared a list of things to consider and do.

About the Host, Janet
Like most residents of the beautiful central coast, my interests are outdoors activities like hiking, kayaking, sailing, and anything close to nature. I'm clean, neat, appreciative, and actively creating a healthful lifestyle. I love being around other positive, easygoing people, and traveling with environmental awareness.
As a host, I want to help you appreciate the natural beauty of the central coast and the friendly, creative people who live here.
